Even if he is "close to the truth", I still take all doc makers with a grain of salt. They all have a personal agenda and I refuse to let other people decide what I think. I like to make my own decisions using as much information as possible. Just how I operate.

I actually was in the audience for the taping of two episodes of Moore's The Awful Truth several years back. He invited my documentary filmmaking class to attend when he taped at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He had seen our documentary and extended the invitation. Damn right we took him up on it. Got to meet him afterwards and I've got an autographed The Awful Truth hat as well. Still have it.

Very nice indeed. Hit Graumann's Chinese Theater (sp?) as well as the Star Walk and the Hollywood Hills. Weather was spectacular and my friends live right on the Venice Canals (see Hollywood Homicide for reference point; don't bother with the movie for any other reason... it's not the best).

Of course my digital camera crapped out on us while we're driving up the PCH and Sunset Boulevard. Not a battery problem either. The mechanism that opens and extends the lens stopped working. Pissed me off. Had to buy a new camera.

It's Jimi (Hendrix) with one "M" you blasphemous bastard!

My few big faves read like a Graphic Designer help wanted ad. If you're in graphic design and have looked at job ads, you will likely recognize the letters "Q/I/P" standing for QuarkXPress, Illustrator, and Photoshop. My three favorite bands are Queen, INXS, and the Police. However, the P can also be swapped out with Tom Petty and Pearl Jam depending on my mood.

WE8 / PES Football GameCube Petition...
Time
I'm sure you do, but being a PS2 owner, I want a lot of what the X-Box and GameCube people have. So many SW games were X-Box only in the early days of the systems (Obi Wan, anyone?) plus I love the NFL Fever games much more than Madden. GameCube has all the Metroid and Zelda games as proprietary titles. You release those to us, I'll sign the petition to release these to you.

Call it blackmail if you so desire. But it's only fair, don't you think?

Til then, make mine Sony!

More Clone Wars Cartoons directly before Ep3
Time
This from the Digital Bits this morning (at least insofar as when I read it)...

Also today, we can't vouch for the source, but a Star Wars fan website has information that reportedly leaked from someone who attended a recent Lucasfilm marketing meeting. Among the interesting bits of information is word that the first and second series of Star Wars: Clone Wars animated shorts will hit DVD in the first quarter of 2005. Also of interest (but not DVD related): the Episode III teaser trailer will debut in November, the first full trailer for the film will arrive in theaters in April 2005, and the word "Revenge" keeps appearing on marketing materials, prompting renewed speculation that Star Wars: Episode III will be called Revenge of the Sith. Finally, a live action Star Wars TV series may premiere in 2006. Fascinating stuff...

And this from Yakface.com...

Great info from a source in the retail industry who attended an official briefing on Episode III merchandising...

Clone Wars Series 1 & 2 DVD coming in Q1 of 05

Clone Wars Series 3 to air April 05 (Ten 12 minute chapters)

So we will get an extra 90 minutes out of series 3 since each episode is 12 minutes instead of 3. Pretty cool IMHO.

You damn right I will. I've seen and been impressed by all of his work thus far. Of course I do take it with a grain of salt. Having the first-hand knowledge of documentary filmmaking that I have, I know how subjective and open to interpretation the whole process is. If it's something I am interested in learning more about, I will do so via other media resources so my perspective becomes a bit more balanced. And, Lord knows, Michael Moore is quite capable of making you want to know more about what he's dishing out, wouldn't you all say?

2. It was still dumb that Pettigrew was Ron's rat all along.
3. Yes, I was paying attention (though it was hard to). If it was his Patronus, why did he say he saw his FATHER? Even so, I thought the Patronus he used earlier in the film to defeat the dementor was the memory of his parents talking to him.

Next round:
1. It just annoyed me because it was so random at that point to completely switch his character around.
2. I've never read the books.
3. It would be nice for that one match to be a bit longer.

First Round:
1. They weren't invited. They were sent there by the Ministry of Magic to hunt down Black. Dumbledore even said he had no control over their presence.
2. I loved it. Plus, what better way to hide and still keep close to the pulse of all that is happening in the magic world?
3. Harry wouldn't think it was actually himself across the lake. So when he saw someone that he briefly thought looked like himself, he assumed the family resemblance was because it was his father. Just as a note, there are four names that are on that Marauder's Map. They are Padfoot, Wormtail, Moony, and Prongs. They represent the four friends and refer to their alter identities once they transform to their animal selves... Wormtail is Pettigrew b/c he is a rat with the worm-looking tail; Padfoot is Sirius Black because he becomes a dog with the pad feet that dogs have; Moony is Professor Lupin because he becomes a wolf under the moonlight (as a side note, Lupin is similar in nature to the species name for a wolf which is "lupus"); and Prongs is Harry's father because his patronus, like Harry's, is a buck with the pronged antlers.

Second Round:
1 and 2 are just notes so I'll ignore.
3. I would have liked to have seen more Quidditch too because Cuaron is the only director that made the Quidditch match look realistic.

I'd probably root CWS just out of Chicago loyalty. But, I will tell you that I will root for the Phils against most other teams. Most. I am a Twins fan and I like to root for the Cards and the D-Backs. But, anytime you play the Braves, contact me and we'll cheer together. I hate the Braves. Officially, you can say that my favorite teams are the Cubs and whoever is playing the Braves.

I don't really want to answer that for reasons better left in the past.

"You" being me, or as in "you all"?

I remember that she seemed to hate me the most just before she left because she thought I was ghosting her every post and countering everything she said. It was actually a case of me being bored and just posting wherever a new post went up and she happened to be the only other person there posting at the time.

MORE CHANGES!!! (for the 2004 OT DVD release)
Time
I only have three carded figures. The rest are loose. Some are literally loose in terms of limbs. Others are in pretty decent condition. I actually have a perfect condition vinyl cape on an ESB era Vader. I used to have the vinyl caped Jawa (a couple of them). However the capes all tore off and all that's left are capeless Jawas. They look rather pitiful, to be honest. I have one or two with the cloth capes.

I had an opportunity to buy all the POTF 1985 release figures at a Children's Palace toy store in 1988 when it was closing down. They had a bunch of them. Never got around to it.

The weird thing is, one of my repeated dreams is of visiting this toy store I've never been in at all in my life and seeing all these original carded SW figures on the pins right next to the new ones and just buying a ton of them. All regular price as well. I couldn't tell you how many times I've had this dream. Everything about it is the same each time, too. Exterior of the store, location of the toys in the store. Pretty sad, yes. Repressed feelings of guilt for not buying when I could have, I suppose.
