Should Star Wars Purists Shut Up?
Time
That could be him. I heard he lost his way on a random patrol because all the alterations he made to both his X-Wing and his R2 unit resulted in their complete inoperability. Just drifted away into nothing. Rebels didn't bother sending out a rescue team, either. Figured they were better off without him.

Here, take a look at Commander Jorg Sacul with your own eyes. The Alliance wiped out all records of his existence. This is the only remaining image of the man. Used as an effigy on Coruscant. Probably for the better...

What is Irving Kershner up to now?
Time
Except SeaQuest DSV was a TV show not a movie. Actually, correct that statement. Looks like he may have directed the TV pilot movie. Starred Roy Scheider and Jonathan Brandis (RIP). I think it only lasted two seasons.

As for Kershner, I have no idea if he's retired or not. Probably hard to recover from the knowledge that he is responsible for Robocop 2. I would guess that, being 81 years old might have something to do with the fact that he hasn't done much lately.

Cliches that need to stop

I don't think Lando dying would have the desired effect. Yes, he was more major a character than most, but not enough in fans' minds to really evoke too much emotion. Han being killed and then Lando and Chewie hunting down his killers in episode 7 would have been much better.

Star Wars - Episode VII: Lando Gets Medieval

Seriously, though, this would've cemented Lando as a much more important character in the series. As it stands, I really feel no emotional attachment to Lando the way I do to Han, Luke, Leia, R2, 3PO, and Yoda. Lando was never given that much of a chance to truly develop his character.

Gili? Isn't that the Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez movie? I've heard that flick is just dreadful. I've actually been wanting to see it just because it's supposed to be just awful.

Does anyone remember the movie Moment By Moment with John Travolta and Lilly Tomlin? There's another stinker.

Yeah, Gigli is the one with Bennifer. And, yes, it's supposed to be horrid. No desire whatsoever to see it myself. Even if just to say I did. The only time I wanted to actually see it was during the last week of its showing on the big screen when some radio station was offering free admission and a T-shirt that read "I sat through Gigli" to anyone who was willing to dare it. I would've done it then, but the station was, I think, somewhere in New England and I'm in Chicago. A bit far to travel for a T-shirt.

Sometimes it's truly difficult to explain why you like one thing more than another. Sometimes, something just strikes a chord in you and you like it. I can't tell you why I like the music of Concrete Blonde, but I do. I can't tell you why my brother and I love sitting around watching Hudson Hawk. Terrible movie by all respects, but we love it.

I think if you just accept that some people like something and move on, then you won't get as much violent backlash against your opinions. That's all I do. Someone says they like something, I leave it at that. No point in getting all bent out of shape about it. Does it affect your life at all? No. So why worry about it? See what I mean?

Oh, and all things considered, I do like AOTC just a touch more than ROTJ. It's pretty close. But this is only because of the damn Ewoks. However, if I saw another damn Gungan battle in AOTC, I would not be so amenable. I do find the Ewoks to be much more acceptable than a bunch of floppy-eared Jar Jar speaking freaks.

That would have been an interesting ending. Would've hated it as a kid, I'm sure. But, as you age, you mature (ideally) and I think I would have respected that sort of plot move as I got older and even liked it. I like the idea now. May have also pushed Lucas to do episodes 7-9 right away because an event like that would need some sort of follow up in terms of retribution. We may have actually had all nine films by this time had that happened.

Hmm...

Well I do agree with Jimbo insofar as the original Terminator is the best. T2 is a piece of garbage as far as I'm concerned. I have yet to see T3. It's on my Netflix queue but is not a priority of mine at the moment. If I see it, I see it. If I don't, I'm not gonna cry over it.

But, yeah, you gotta respect the fact that other people have opinions, Jimbo. Some people might like Alice in Wonderland better than Lion King (I don't, but I respect that opinion) and others might like Family Guy more than Futurama (I'm on the fence about that one, I like 'em both pretty equally - damn if I'm not looking very forward to the upcoming Stewie action figure!). Everyone's entitled to an opinion. That's what makes the freedom of thought so wonderful. If you want everyone to share your opinion, then you pretty much have to live in a place where emotion is repressed. Try the movies THX-1138 and Equilibrium, or just move to Iraq circa the Saddam days of yore.
