Best Movie Endings
Time
The Shawshank Redemption. Hands down, one of the best endings ever.

"I find I'm so excited, I can barely sit still or hold a thought in my head. I think it the excitement only a free man can feel, a free man at the start of a long journey whose conclusion is uncertain. I hope I can make it across the border. I hope to see my friend, and shake his hand. I hope the Pacific is as blue as it has been in my dreams. I hope."

'nuff said.

Beautiful Women
Time
Yes Chaltab. I am married. I didn't say I was going after Alizee, just looking at the picture.

Oh, and that animated gif ain't too bad. Don't think we need to start a thread here about them, but it is nice all the same. I worry about the person who actually went and created that. If I were her, I don't know if I'd be "honored" or frightened.

Star Wars T.V. 2006! Kevin Smith wanted?

This would be a pretty cool way to do it. Have one group of writers develop the stories and have different directors take it from there. Much like Band of Brothers (though without the standard of quality). I liked having the different perspectives in BoB. That could work pretty nicely in a Star Wars setting. Focus on a different person each episode. Hmm... I like it.

Rebel Rouser, you are not the only one who liked Clone Wars animated. I loved it and can't wait for the third season this spring.

OT.com is so loved....

I saw MBJ's ref. Where were you in their posts, Reg?

They call us losers? Yikes.

I really feel that we have a pretty well grounded and diverse group of viewpoints here or there is no way I would have stayed on as long as I have.

Funny to see some of the same posters over there bashing us here and yet they still post here (tlbauerle, faid).

Out of curiosity, who was Fatboy Roberts over here? He says he was on and got some people to admit he had some good points. I'm wondering who he was because I've never seen that name used here.

A bootleg list wouldn't be a problem, but it would likely just have to sit in its own thread. Jay doesn't mind us discussing bootlegs but I doubt he wants to personally participate in it. You just need to create another thread and post them in there.

Greedo

Not that I ever viewed Greedo as a threat (even as a child I thought he was rather wussy), but to now realize that he's that piss poor even at such short range is quite disturbing. Even a three year old with a toy gun at that range would likely be able to hit its target.

Putting a list of bootlegs and details would be up to us to compile the information. As for hosting the covers here, it won't happen. Jay pays for this site out of his own pocket and hosting those big ass hi-res images would make him have to pay even more for both server space and bandwidth to download them all. You guys will likely have to arrange something on your own offsite.

Wanted: Biting the bullet - "The Original Vision"
Time
Well OT is used to refer to Original Trilogy (being ANH/ESB/ROTJ), right? Well, we have been using "O-OT" to refer to the Original Original Trilogy (the real 1977/80/83 versions). You also have the SE OT (or OT SE) and I'm not sure what we're using to refer to the DVD versions that came out this year (OT '04?).

Some of us may even be using it to stand for Official Original Trilogy with "official" being our own subjective way of viewing the original cuts.

LD Players, What is the machine of choice??
Time
True on the LD factor. However, if you want to go to a friends' place and watch the movies, I don't see it as feasible to lug around your LD player and discs. Also, if I had the LDs, I'd still want the DVD-Rs and just save the LDs for special occasions. Much like the VHS, they are relics and not readily available anymore. Anything goes wrong with it and your FUBAR'd.

Perhaps it's an easter egg.

Funny you should say this, I was just watching Young Frankenstein the other day (damn fine flick) and I now have a theory that the real George Lucas died and was resurrected in 1996 but with the brain of Abby Normal.

Tell me that doesn't explain it all.
