There is a collection of games with BurgerTime on it? Is this a PS2 collection? I can't believe I don't have it yet. I love BurgerTime. The only thing that would make me happier on PS2 would be Q-Bert.

Lord of the Rings' Gollum Gets Health Check

LONDON (Reuters) - Gollum, the creepy character in "Lord of the Rings" with the dual personality and eerie voice, suffered from a schizoid personality disorder, according to a group of medical students.

Thirty students at University College London were asked to explain the odd behavior the character displayed in the films based on the J.R.R. Tolkien trilogy.

The students noted his solitary habits, spiteful behavior, odd interests, difficulty in forming friendships, emotional changeability, nervousness and paranoia.

"He fulfils seven of the nine criteria for schizoid personality disorder, and, if we must label Gollum's problems, we believe this is the most likely diagnosis," Dr Elizabeth Sampson, who headed the research team, said in the British Medical Journal on Friday.

His two personalities -- Gollum and Smeagol -- convinced some students it was a case of schizophrenia or multiple personality disorder.

But schizophrenia was ruled out because delusions were not in keeping with Gollum's culture. The interaction between the two personalities shows Gollum is aware of both Smeagol and Gollum at the same time, which is inconsistent with multiple personality disorder, in which one is usually suppressed.

His bulging eyes and weight loss also suggests a thyroid problem, they added.

The Top Ten
Time
Okay, so then let's switch the course of this thread. We have a thread for rankings and that sort of top ten. Let's make this the Top 10 movies of 2004 thread. Anyone else agree? Only movies released in 2004 (even if in only limited release and even if it's a 2003 release that you didn't see until 2004).

Here's what I've got so far.

1. The Incredibles
2. The Passion of the Christ
3. Garden State
4. Spanglish
5. Shrek 2
6. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
7. Man on Fire
8. The Bourne Supremacy
9. Before Sunset
10. Miracle

Some honorable mentions include Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Spider-Man 2, and Troy (I liked Eric Bana and Brad Pitt in the film; but Orlando Bloom really dragged it down and out of contention for me)

There are others I have yet to see that I get the feeling might make this list. Ray, Kinsey, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, The Motorcycle Diaries, Shaun of the Dead, and some others.

Just a quick rewind. I think it was starboy that was talking about the feratures on the DS. I thought I'd confirm some stuff:

Nintendo DS
- Yes, it has wireless networking
- It has 2 screens, one being touch/pressure-sensitive
- The DS has 2 different CPU chips (I think an ARM-9 and an ARM-7), giving it processing power almost equivilent to the N64.
- I just saw today that Nintendo is going to offer a memory card adapter which will, get this, let you play MPEG-4 video and/or MP3 music. So, looking like, in a limited way, its going to soon gain the same functionality as the PSP.
- DS is backward-compatible with previous Gameboy games (articles I've read specifically say GBA games, but I have to think that GBC and GB games would also be counted in that).

Very cool about the memory card adaptor. And if it can play the old GBA games, I see no reason why it shouldn't be able to play GBC and GB games as well. They all had the same interface.

Absolutely. Anytime I find a new one, I buy it because my wife and I both love those. Aside from Pac Man World and Crazy Taxi, the throwback games are the only ones my wife likes to play.

Be careful, though, there is a new Midway Classics, vol. 1 that came out. It's the exact same game as one released a couple years back but in totally different packaging. I made that mistake. Now I've got to return it. Didn't realize it upon purchasing it.
