You can probably buy them from extreme specialty A/V stores and even that would likely be a special order. You gotta remember, these are the United States... we think the world revolves around us therefore we don't offer things that aren't really needed within our borders. The only thing I've found even remotely related to this sort of thing is a power plug converter kit for small electronic devices when you travel abroad to make them plug into foreign outlets.

Where are you moving here from, YIYF?

Jedi Knight casting call

Ah, Kevin Smith already got to wield a lightsaber. Well, actually it was a bongsaber. And Jay got a two-bladed bongsaber.

But, seriously, you may see some kind of nod like KS with a saber if this whole TV thing goes through. Most recent rumor is that KS will be working on it with Mark Hamill. Neither are confirming nor denying. Usually if something is untrue, KS denies it to heaven and back.

SW Photo Spread in Vanity Fair
Time
This from IMDb today (Jan 6)...

Quote

'Star Wars' Actors Reunited
Actors Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Natalie Portman and Ewan McGregor have teamed up with other stars of all six Star Wars movies for a new Vanity Fair photo spread. The American magazine grouped together 22 major performers in the legendary franchise, inviting cast members from the original 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope to this year's final installment Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith. Mastermind George Lucas, who directed four of the intergalactic movies, joined Ford, Fisher, Portman and McGregor as well as original Luke Skywalker star Mark Hamill, Samuel L. Jackson, Liam Neeson and Hayden Christensen. Robots R2-D2 and C3PO also joined their human co-stars for the reunion shoot. Lucas admits the final part of the opening trilogy marks the end of an era in his career - and he now plans to stop making successful films. He says, "I'm going to make movies nobody wants to see. I've earned the right to fail."

He's "earned the right to fail"?!? In my mind, he did that when he bailed on the O-OT. Just MHO, of course.

Can't wait to see Vanity Fair. That should be cool.

Just look at it. If there are three of the select pins to either side of the cartridge slot, you have a six pin. If it has two on either side, it's a four pin. Nothing technical or hidden about it. Some people just don't realize that there are two versions of the old 2600 (check that, three versions, see below).

The extra two pins, as I recall, are the difficulty setting switches for each player. On the four pin model, the pins are actually just black thumb switches in back by where you plug in the joystick.

Here you go...

Six-pin 2600

Four-pin 2600

Then again, there is also the 2600 Jr.

Does anyone feel that cinema tough girls have degenerated over the years?
Time
Ah, good man. I was gonna bitch slap you if you forgot to mention Carrie-Ann Moss and Miranda Otto as good female toughgirls.

I would have to agree with you. But I'm not sure who to blame for this. There are bad writers, bad actors, bad directors, etc., etc., ad infinitum. Maybe it's a reliance on special effects in blockbusters to tell the story. But then this can be nullified by Moss and Otto who were in big CG-laden blockbusters but had good roles and characters.

I dunno who to blame. But it is apparent. And I'm not sure that I'd include Pfeiffer's Catwoman as a good one. Not a big fan of that one myself.

I agree with you on the seeming stiffness of the relationship between Obi Wan and Anakin. However, we've also got to take into account the ten years that elapsed between TPM and AOTC. It is possible that they have that friendly sort of relationship and it developed during that time. However, a point was soon reached when they would need to discard the "familiarity" of their acquaintance (as we know friendship to be) and be more master/padawan... a much more professional sort of relationship.

Also, with how little time we actually saw Obi Wan and Anakin together in AOTC, it could also be possible that they do, in fact, still have that more familiar relationship, but the only times they were together in the movie, they were on the hunt (guarding Amidala, hunting down the bounty hunter on Coruscant) and needed to resort to a more dignified relationship for the sake of finishing the task at hand.

Fusetalk doesn't allow it. It might have been allowed if Jay had switched to another forum host like he was discussing a few months back. But due to personal issues and time constraints, the switchover isn't going to happen in the near future. Jay is the only person who maintains and moderates these boards so it is all dependent on his time allowances.
