In that final "push" day for 10K, Motti and I were having conversations back and forth and probably put up about 300 posts each in a single day.

Now I do about 10 a day. Tops.

I think that avatar existed well before AWK. There were a few good members who had it before him. Doesn't bother me.

Kirby Puckett Dead at 44
Time
Mitch, no need to apologize. Hence why this is off topic.

Zion, not completely blind, but he did lose a vast majority of his eyesight.

I remember hearing about Kirby going to an opposing stadium and the team had traveled in a bus. He started signing autographs when he arrived but had to pull himself away after nearly an hour. He told the fans to meet him back out here after the game and he would sign some more. The fans showed up, but the bus began to pull away. It stopped and Kirby got out and signed for another hour and a half. That's class.

I loved Kirby Puckett. He's a Chicago boy and, despite playing for the Twins, was always a favorite athlete in town. There are very few athletes in pro sports from other teams that have this level of reverence in Chicago if they didn't play for one of our teams. Not even Donovan McNabb who is also Chicago born and bred. I still have one of Puckett's rookie cards at home as well. He's the reason I regularly wear a Twins cap as well.

R.I.P. Kirbs.

Yeah, but what constitutes "American" anymore? The proverbial "American-made" cars have 2/3 to 3/4 of their parts manufactured in other countries while some of the traditionally "foreign" cars have manufacturing plants stateside. I'm thinking the lines have blurred a bit too much for this to still be a valid point to argue.

Lucas: Big pics are doomed
Time
It's not entirely true that people will still go see them. How many of this and last year's "blockbuster" big budgeteers fell short in the long run and failed to recoup their budgets? Quite a few. I pray that's a sign that the moviegoing audience is coming to their senses.

No, I don't really think blockbusters will go away, but to decrease in number would be a good thing.
