The Return of Six Degrees of Star Wars
Time
I didn't falter. The system did. The principal tenet of the Six Degrees theory is that anybody in the world can be linked in six steps or less. The variation I employed in this game is that anybody with a legit FILM acting credit can be linked to the SW films in six steps or less. Thus far, we have linked EVERYONE that had a legit FILM credit (unless I overlooked a failed challenge). However, we have now found the kink in the system. The six degrees theory has failed. That's all.

How about my blog-buddy Shane Nickerson (not using The Thin Pink Line)?

But a credit card can't cause bodily damage. I wonder what kind of medical guarantee you will get that the implant won't be misimplanted and suddenly break off and cause some irreparable damage to a vital organ or body function.

again To play devil advocate: true, it would be more violent, but much more difficult to do, especially without getting caught. Also there many thieves who have no problem with stealing identies and purses, but would have a problen cutting someone's arm off.

To be a devil's advocate of my own... if the chips become widespread, then the only means by which a thief can make any money will be via violent assault to remove the chip. If this becomes the case, they will become more violent. The ends will justify the means.

If you wish to be assimilated, that is your choice, but it is not mine. True some of these things can help us, but just how far do we go? Until we are more machine than human? I want to be a human, not a computer.

A-friggin-MEN! 'nuff said.

Powerful movies

Worse than this, though, was the estrogen-laced ripoff known as Mona Lisa Smile. Horrible, horrible movie.

As for last year's most powerful... while I have not yet seen Munich, I would have to say Crash. Soul stirring. That's the best way to think of it.

Others from past years... not a film, but, Band of Brothers; Cool Hand Luke; Empire of the Sun; Far From Heaven; the original Manchurian Candidate; Passion of the Christ; The Red Violin; Requiem for a Dream; and To Kill a Mockingbird.

Isaac Hayes Quits 'South Park'

Well, until former Scientologists started talking, the whole alien threat crap was, as South Park also noted, held back from members until they reached a certain level of ... oh, call it what it is: giving. Once you gave enough cash they tell you the "truth" about the evil lord Xenu and the whole story behind where the Thetans come from. This is where the sane and the truly-f'ing-nuts are separated. Some people hear that and say "You mean I've been giving you my cash for this crap?" while others say "Wow! I knew there was a giant conspiracy keeping the truth about the secrets of the universe from the common man. Here, have some more cash and let me help recruit some more rich assholes for you."

You know, "Big Love" is yanking off the covers of Mormonism's polygamous adherants. I'd LOVE to see a group of Hollywood producers who aren't afraid of Scientologist intimidation and retribution create a similar show that totally exposes that cult-fraud in a similar way. Or maybe Morgan Spurlock can infiltrate the religion for 30 days and document it on film. Now THAT would be the best film that would never see the light of day.

This is one of the most brilliant posts I've ever read on this site. Big props ADM. And I love the Spurlock idea. Drop him a line, would ya?
