I don't want them to. When that happens, quality takes a backseat to quantity. Creativity takes a backseat to fulfilling orders. And virus writers will start to target Macs. Keep it where it is. I like the status quo. 5-10% of the home computer market is fine by me.

He definitely changed the way movies were made and that's why I care so damn much about these films. I think his pioneering methods need to be preserved. Instead, he's denying that they ever existed. He blazed new trails and now he wants to cover them up in favor of another trail that he is having trouble keeping his footing on. Yes, I am referring to his use of CG. He's trying to use it and he's just not using it well. It looks so blatant, so fake. He's just not doing a good job of it.

Jay, I hope everything that is new and changed with your life has been working out smoothly. I just moved as well and know how hellish it can be.

Zion, congrats on the mod appointment and, Jay, thanks for being willing to assign a mod.

As for finances, I have no problem contributing what I can. This is the only forum I have ever joined that I have stuck with longer than just a couple of months. I've made some great friends here and would hate to see it go bye bye. Let us know what we can do.

Everybody keeps calling the Shining a horror classic so I always assumed it was a horror movie. Well, everyone calls it a classic except for the author of the story, Stephen King, who hated the finished product and that's why he made a TV movie version of The Shining about 4 or 5 years ago. He liked it a lot more even though it tanked in the TV ratings.

867 5309 was Tommy Tutone's ex girlfriend as I recall or somebody he was obsessed with. I'm not sure.

Alicia Keys just released a song with a phone number in it that is real. However it is to a phone line that she owns. What she failed to specify in her song, however, was the area code. She only has the phone number in NYC. When you call it outside that area code, who knows what you'll get. There's been a pretty big beef lately over that. But not nearly as large a flap as with Tutone as his was a huge radio hit and everyone knew the number.

Yeah, sometimes a movie or TV show will have a real number accidentally and it will cause some problems initially. But for the most part, phone numbers with a 555 (or "KL5" as in the case of The Simpsons) prefix are used because they go straight to an operator when you call regardless of area code.
