I haven't had any problems with Firefox related to this site. It always shows me what is new and is accurate about it.

I have had problems getting some functionality on some sites in Firefox. But the few negatives I have had are far outweighed by the positives. I love this browser and will never go back.

LCDs are nifty and thin, but they're still not as good as CRTs for PQ.

Actually, mine didn't have the Bluetooth keyboard/mouse. Mine was with the USB model. But I did get the airport card simply for wireless networking since there is no PC slot in it for a card.

iTunes is a great program that I have never had a problem with. Loads fast and has more available songs than any other pay-per-download site out there. Plus the exclusive tracks are great. Many artists record tracks specifically for iTunes. I know that a few have done this for Napster as well. But getting an exclusive U2 track is better than an exclusive Macy Gray track, IMHO.

Dushku, the U2 iPod is not all that. I can't say I'm a big fan.

I buy Macs because the video and graphics processing, off the shelf, is far better than a PC. When you buy a PC, you have to upgrade the hell out of it to bring it to a processing level equivalent to a Mac. Macs are prepped with all that stuff in advance. Plus the service on Macs is far better. I've always had all my questions about Macs answered in a very timely fashion unlike the PC support services I've encountered.

And, before anyone says, you can't compare a Mac to an off-the-shelf PC because those types of PCs are crap (which is what some people on this forum have argued in the past), that's just the case here. Why shouldn't you be able to make the comparison? That's one of the keys... Mac makes it easy for people. PCs are complicated as hell to update and repair and find compatible peripherals and make work properly unless you really know what you're doing. And 98% of PC owners don't know what they're doing. So it's not easy. And they get frustrated. I know more than my fair share of people who hate their PCs because of the lack of simplicity inherent in ownership of one. Then they start working on a Mac and love it.

There's your reason right there.

But, if you know what you're doing and you like to work on computers, then a PC is definitely the way to go. God bless ya. If you enjoy, then do it. Knock yourself out. I don't. I want to hook up my computer and go to town. I want it to be preloaded with all the hardware and plug ins that I need so I can just use it. I can do some work on PCs, but I don't want to have to. Screw that. It's not my bag.

I can respect that opinion. I have the same feeling. I think some things are definitely platform dependent. There are some things PCs do that Macs can't quite as well, and vice versa. But I have weighed what I need a computer for and a Mac works better for me.

Chaltab, all computers crash. If I were basing my opinion on crashes, I would never touch a PC again in my life. I owned so many of them that crapped out entirely after a really brief period. However, my PowerBook has been with me for just under six years now. I love it. I'm not entirely ruling out a PC. Actually I have seen some PC laptops that I have absolutely loved and have considered buying. But I'm a Mac man at heart.

And, no, it's not a case of "everybody" on these boards loving them. There is just a small group of people that love them and revel when something new is announced. When something new in the PC world is announced, it's not as big a deal because it doesn't universally affect all PC users. However Mac users do get affected because it's one company producing all our computers. Think of it like this, if Dell announced some big new thing, it really wouldn't be that big a deal, right? You may be using Acer, Gateway, or any of thousands of other makers' computers. You may just shrug your shoulders and that would be your right. Mac announcements have been big deals ever since the Power PC chip was announced. Steve Jobs it the king of secrecy and an air of mystery and awe surrounds his announcements (I'm not making this up either). It's like the announcement of the cold fusion reactor in the movie The Saint. Remember how they trumped that up? That's how it is when Mac announces something new.

So we will continue to talk about it. If something big and new in the PC world comes around, I would expect you to do the same if it affected you.

Well why not make it that way in the first place? He claims that all the SE changes he made were because he didn't have the technology to do so back in 1977/80/83. That's a load of bullshit. He's rewriting and doesn't want to admit it. If it was truly that important, he could have done it back in 77, but he didn't, did he? Can't have been that important.
