They definitely should have been more proactive about the situation.

However with regard to the police and fire... there still is no way to have known that the threat was ended. With how fortified the place had become, it would not be outside the realm of possibility that they were hidden in some fireproofed basement or that there was an interior room that was fireproofed, fortified, and that armed people weren't waiting inside for the fire to be put out and then hit. Wasn't there some similar fortified interior room in the Waco siege? The firemen would still be putting themselves in harm's way. I know it's a controversial decision, but I would have to support the police on it. But, then again, my knowledge of the facts is really limited (just to what you've told me).

And that's exactly what I was trying to avoid by not mentioning Soldier, subjectivity. I don't prefer Candlestick or the Meadowlands to Lambeau. I'm just saying that, in the grand scheme of things, I think those two are more recognizable universally than Lambeau is. I've never been to the Meadowlands or Lambeau. I have been to Candlestick and I didn't think it was all that. Still cool to have been there before it was shut down and replaced. But Candlestick has the recognizability due to both baseball and football and the 89 earthquake with the images of pro baseball players helping fans in the stands after the quake hit. That gives it recognition factor.

Meadowlands... I'm not quite sure why it's more popular, but people I've talked to know it. They just do. Dunno why.

I was just remaining objective by not arguing on behalf of my fave team and one that I get emotionally charged about... the Bears and Soldier. That's what objectivity is... removing emotion from a decision or argument and working solely based on facts. I don't know if I could do that with the Bears considering what a fan I am of them. That's just how it is.

I was upset and offended. But I'm not sore. This is something that people get charged about. It happens.

We cool.

I agree that she is far from the first person I would think of for the role. But I'll give it a shot. I actually kinda think Chalize Theron would have been ideal for the role.

Well, the police were right in one regard, they are not supposed to allow EMTs, paramedics, and fire fighters on scene until the threat of bodily harm from violence is secured. They teach you that in EMT/Medic school. If there is a potential threat, we stay the hell away until the scene is secure. Of course, that shouldn't have stopped them from firing hoses from a distance or bringing in airlifted water supplies. But, then again, the place should never have been bombed in the first place. When you say "bomb," what do you mean by it? The literal definition? Cannister-drops-out-of-sky-and-destroys-something-in-a-radical-explosion sort of "bomb"?

And I would perfer a Superbowl played in hell before one in the Meadowlands.
And maybe you being a bears fan and natural rival of the Packers in clouding you judgment of Lambeau. And being well known does not mean good. The Astrodome was a well known baseball stadium.

EDITED.

You know what? Forget it. It's not worth it. I had a big, long post here decrying things being said as hypocritical. I'm not gonna bother. It will just start a flame war. I'm done. Believe what you all want.

Bye.

No, not that I'm aware of. I didn't have to. Who told you that?

Yes, you have to use iTunes if you want it to play through your iPod (as opposed to using your Pod as an extra harddrive). But the software is free and available on both PC and Mac. My brother in law uses the PC version and has no problem with how it works. This is only because iTunes and iPods are designed to work together. As for iTunes being the only source of MP3s for your Pod, not true. 98% of the songs on my iPod and in iTunes on my Mac are from CDs I either own, got from a friend, or checked out from the library. I rarely buy songs from the iTunes music store. The iTunes software even has a file converter to convert WMA files to MP3s so they can be used in iTunes, and, therefore, on your iPod. My friend sends me MP3 data CDs and I just put the CD in my SuperDrive and drag the files into iTunes and it automatically loads them into the comprehensive playlist.

The files that you buy from iTunes Music Store are in a protected proprietary file type called M3A. Much like any software package out there, they are specific to this program. Sony's MD Jukebox software creates proprietary file types that don't even work in other PC software which really pisses me off. When I pitched my MD player, the files were useless. No converter would deal with them. So I pitched a year's worth of files I'd been collecting.

Then I discovered in iTunes that you could decompress the prop files you get from the Music Store and burn to an audio CD and then redownload them and they come out as MP3 files that are unprotected. Wonderful thing.

What would you like to see in a scifi/fantasy web site? The time has come for a change...
Time
Yes, they could contact Jay directly, but why would they take the time to do that? They want to see it right then and there. Not wait for someone to write them back thus confirming that LFL really is checking up on us.

The only option I can see would be if it is possible to archive a bulk of the old signatures as a pdf file that can be linked on the current petition page. Just have it say something along the lines of "this petition contains the 10,000 (or 5,000, etc) most recent signatures. To view the rest of them, please download this pdf file". Blah blah blah. You get my meaning. And the PDF can be updated every 5K signatures or so.

I wanted to add this on my last post. But the designation Jay put on this thread doesn't allow me to edit my previous posts. Sorry.

You could make a copy, but, if someone from LFL comes along and actually looks at the petition and sees that we are claiming 59,000+ signatures and only 10,000 are actually up, they're going to view the petition as misleading and false and never take it seriously. So the petition is either an all or none situation. It's either posted in its entirety or not at all.
