As someone who grew up with the prequels, I can tell you they're something you grow out of when you begin to see just how terrible they are, while the OT still stands up to scrutiny.

I honestly think there's nothing to fear for future generations.

Like them lil Ewoks taught us, power is meaningless if you're on the Dark Side. Lucasfilm cannot rewrite history or force us to adopt whatever warped perspective allows Lucas to view the prequels as good.

I agree with this completely; having also grown up with, and at one time enjoying, the prequels as well, I can safely say that I recognize today that they're more or less piles of tripe that do the title "Star Wars" injustice, and I think most kids will see that as they grow up as well.

^These.

I just got back From 'X-men: First Class'. I don't want to set anyone's expectations too high but, wow. Best movie I've seen in a long time. Sure there were cheesy bits but overall it felt like an adult film that presented some tough moral questions while keeping your attention at the same time. It felt like a compacted version of the other films with a 60s vibe throughout.

8.5 out of 10 balls.

Not as bad as I was expecting it to be.

Were you expecting it to jump of of the screen, raid your fridge, kick your dog, and give you herpes?

Cuz if that's the case, I agree with you. It wasn't THAT bad.

Agreed.

So very agreed.

Of course, I only saw the workprint without the special effects... and the only part I enjoyed about it was seeing the work in progress of an unfinished film. That was pretty interesting.

You didn't miss much, The CGI was bawls. (Not in a good way)

about the only reason I'd go is if Lucas was going to be showing up and I had the chance to boo him and chant "Han Shoots First!" in his face.

I feel like the majority of fans want Han to shoot first. Am I wrong? I mean I see "Han shot first" shirts all over the place. Am I wrong on this? Someone tell me I'm right or I'll cry. ;(

Comedians! I consider myself a comedy fan. I'm no expert but I feel like I know slightly more about comedy that the average joe.

My top 3 well known comedians are

3: Jim Gaffigan

2: Mitch Hedberg

1: Brian Regan

(I hear Carlin is great but haven't seen anything by him yet)

Lesser known comedians:

3: Junior Stopka

2: Drew Michael

1: James Fritz

(Mostly know them from http://redbarradio.com/ My favorite podcast.)

So, who are your favorite comics?

I have most of my old comics in good condition. But of course my oldest that I've purchased is maybe 6 years old. But, My grandpa used to collect comics as well way back when and has them in good condition. He gave me his whole collection of doctor strange from the nineties. I think he said he has the old batmans. Not sure how old but since I'm the only other one in the family who has any interest in them I'm pretty sure he'll hand 'em over eventually.

I'm currently reading the phoenix arc. which is what 'Last Stand' sort of took from a little, I guess. then I'm planning on skipping to uncanny number 475. I hear that's a decent spot to start.

Those indy comics look interesting. and Jhonen Vasquez is awesome. I loved Invader Zim when it came out.

Also, I forgot to mention Scott Pilgrim. Sure I read it because of the film hype but it's real close to my sense of humor. I recommend that too.
