This guy is my new hero - what a great talent he’s got!

I actually find it quite inspiring such a young person is so interested in creating physical puppets. It looks like the video is rather popular so hopefully the right person will see it and give this artist the job he deserves.

Brilliant.

A bit late but something like this could replace the crappier CGI characters in the prequels.

Do you have any hopes/ideas for X-XII?

I want tons more Death Stars.

Seriously THIS.
Imagine a Star War where the Galactic Governments have all collapsed and individual Star Systems have their own cloaked superweapons ready to demolish whole worlds if they themselves are attacked.
It would be a powerful metaphor for the Nuclear Arms problem (outside the superpowers).
It would also remove their status as a one film at a time threat. If there were lots of little systems with their own cultures and grudges it would lead to some interesting characters and situations. The only way you could reduce the power of a large Galactic Power would be to give the smaller systems the same firepower the Empire used to have. It would lead to some fun universe building too if we got to see these regimes as individual set ups and not sided with one group or another.
More like Dune but with added fun.

What Does Everyone Here Think of the Third Post in the "What Does Everyone Here Think of Star Wars?" Thread?
Time

Yeah I can see it now.
Sorry, I stupidly assumed it was an old thread so searched for it on google but it wasn’t and the googleplex hasn’t added it to it’s list of things.
I think the third post was reasonably constructed and suitably to the point. How often do we find ourselves accidentally double posting? I find the problem particularly common when posting using a mobile phone. And don’t get me started about auto erection. I’m constantly having to go back and read something just to make sure I have accidentally insulted large sections of humanity as quite often auto erection changes the meaning of the post in the most subtle and silly ways.

If you need to B*tch about something... this is the place
Time

I couldn’t get much done today because of a bloody cold that’s been running for over a week at seems to have hit it’s zenith. I’m not streaming anymore but I’ve got the choking cough stage (lucky I’m not a presidential candidate). I had to cancel my dentist appointment which I was bizarrely looking forward to (I need a bit of a tartar blitz) and I really wanted to cut the grass. But all I could do was cough, sweat and sleep really. Somehow I managed to get into a discussion with UKIPpers online about their bizarre obsession with returning gollywogs and blackface to British culture which was more draining than anything. I’m also rather tired of defending my gender against those who blame it for all the violence in the world rather than the violence itself. Men tend to do it more but they tend to be physically bigger and in positions of authority. I am now working on shrinking all humans to the same size.

The Place to Go for Emotional Support

I’m beginning to understand what the expression “envy the dead” means. God, this is fucking hell. I’ve barely eaten or slept in a day and a half.

I don’t mean this to sound harsh or uncaring but it’s the internet and text only communication can come out that way. But eat something and go to bed. Even if you don’t want to, even if you don’t sleep. Rested insomnia is less harmful than restless insomnia. Force yourself to lie in bed under cover for six hours. Don’t take the phone. If you must read something take a book. Treat food as medicine. Depression can utterly wipe out appetite but people shouldn’t eat to sate appetite they should eat for fuelling physical health. If you must combine the two take a packed lunch to bed. Something balanced and healthy. And make yourself eat all of it. And drink water. Once again even if it’s a chore. Avoid stimulants like coffee and tea. Eventually your sleep patterns will return and your appreciation of food will return but give it time. You have an illness. If you had a cold or flu you would probably lose sleep and appetite but you would probably be less hard on yourself about it.

thankyou. He has some sort of infection. CAT scan showed no signs of anymore bleeding. There are admitting him again to the hospital and treating him with antibiotics.

Sorry to keep making parallels with my friend’s situation but he too had a series of infections right after being treated in hospital. I think the trauma of a brain bleed can have an impact on immunity. He had infections in his lungs and eyes which cleared up quite quickly with antibiotics. His heart was also enlarged after the attack and all these things delayed his moving over to the recovery unit. But now he is doing fine so hopefully your dad will have similar success, if not better.

To put it simply, no. Paul McGann is wonderful as the Doctor but the absolute butchering of the character of the Master is just awful.

It’s worth checking out for completionist’s sake but go in with very low expectations.

Worse than turning him into a woman? 😉

Some of us can afford the upgrade.
I was miffed at the Eric Roberts interpretation back in the day but like Paul he does well with what he has. Which is a poor screenplay but as good as many RTD scripts and better than many JNT era ones. If I were to introduce the show to someone I’d go with something like The Eleventh Hour which is fun has many if the main concepts explained and is modern telly friendly. Then I’d encourage people to go back and forwards as the character does. It’s a mixed bag whenever you go but what the show has, it has an ethos… a life… It has…A spirit all of its own. Like a wine, it has a bouquet. Yeah. Like a good wine. You have to chose one of the vintage years, of course. 1996 was more of a generic house red. 2010 That’s a most good-humoured wine. A touch sardonic, perhaps, but not cynical. A most civilised wine, one after my own hearts.
