Touché.

And yeah, I really cant wait for a copy either.

Free DVD cases
Time
I found out something today that made me ecstatic! http://67.18.37.16/2087/182/emo/4.gif

I was grabbing a job application at a local Subway Sandwich chain and on my way out, I noticed a box full of DVD cases outside of the Blockbuster store right next door. (For those of you that are outside the US/may not know...Blockbuster is a large video-game and DVD rental chain store).

I realized that many people pay money for standard, blank amaray cases. I walked inside and asked what the deal was.

They had just gotten a shipment of brand new DVD's into the store, and since they place the DVD's into special Blockbuster cases that the cashier unlocks, they cant do anything with the factory cases. Therefore, they were placed outside ready to go right into the dumpster.

I asked if I could please have them, and they gave them to me FREE OF CHARGE!

I have a huge box now filled with both 1 and 2 disc cases. Some green ones too, which must have come from an x-box game or something.

So basically, go check out some of your local rental stores and ask what they do with their cases. Who knows, you might get lucky like I did.

Now I have a place to put all these awesome fan projects/edits!!!

I’d hate to see the excellent image preservation of the X0 being sidetracked into a gimmicky super special unrated extended collectors edition. There are plenty of other sources if you want extra features.

I agree....if extras are to be put in, they should be on a separate disc...but then again, the class acts working on this probably already know exactly what they are doing (much better than I would ever be capable of doing, I might add) and us talking about it gets nothing accomplished.

I dont want to burst your bubble Pepsi, but this isnt exactly like Deleted Magic.

I cant give you full details about it, as I have not gotten a copy yet myself, but I do know that if you go into this one expecting another Deleted Magic, you're gonna wind up dissapointed.

Thats not to say that Building Empire is bad, per se.

Its just like comparing Apples and Oranges. Both are fruit, but they are different.

If I left anything out, someone can pick up where I left off.

Quick question for some of you guys out there.

I just got Imandix, and I was wondering how I could change it to run in english.

It says that it is possible on the main website, I guess I am just a n00b at this though.

I can make the basic function of the program work (i used it to show some of coov's work to my friends on a personal forum)...but there is probably some options and such on there that I would like to tweak that I dont really know how as I cannot understand the language that its currently in.

Any help?

And how could anybody pick the Genesis over the SNES?! SNES wins hands down! The only thing the Genesis had going for it was a faster processor!

The Sega Genesis had tons of quality titles available for it.

I owned a Sega personally, so I guess I am somewhat biased...but from several of the games I tried out on SNES, I thought they were fun.

Plus, that black console was just so god damn sexy

I don't know what you're talking about but there's only 2 different versions of Spaceballs.

There's three. I saw 'em with my own eyes. I have the original 1-disc, with an 8 min. featurette on it. After the 2-Disc edition came out, I was at Wal-Mart, and there was a 1-disc Spaceballs there with a different cover than the previous one. So I looked at the back, and lo and behold, no featurette. Different new 1-disc with even less content than before. Same with Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal-- both had loaded Special Editions, and then were rereleased in sad, pale feature-less versions.

I don't get it. Doesn't it cost money to repackage and tweak this stuff? Why put out another 1-disc version of a pre-exisiting release with very minimal features anyway, when you just put the 2-disc one out?

They sometimes still use the word "Bonus". And they say "Special Features" even though sometimes the only features are things like Chapter Selection and Subtitles. Marketing genius. And I think I've seen a "Special Exclusive Limited Collector's Director's Numbered Extreme Definitive Secret" Edition of something or other.

What probably happened is this:

The factory where the discs were pressed made, I dont know, for example lets just say 50,000 copies. Once those 50,000 copies are sold out...if they decide to make another shipment...they go back to make a new set, but in order to cut costs/time, they release it with less features.

I dont know...thats the nest thign I can think of.

And yes, I think its stupid.

Yeah, I paid OCP $30 for the three Classic Editions and the discs wont work in my playstation2 or home theater JVC dvd player. It works fine on the computer....but I dont want to sit at my desk and watch a whole movie. I gave them away. It sort of ticked me off that I paid a pretty penny for a "somewhat defective" set of discs.

The only reason I am not still PO'd is that Sluggo sent me a new set that worked 100% fine, free of charge, for participating in his Valentines Day contest. If you're reading this Sluggo...YOU ROCK MY SOCKS!

Now I am able to watch the CE's and enjoy them the way they were meant to be experienced.

Dark Jedi pan & scan set
OCP Special Edition Hype

Also, I have the Dark Jedi Definitive Collection set, is there specific art for this, or will any DC cover set do?

I've got both of Rikters covers DVDs, couldn't see them on there thogh. Can anyone help me out?

Ell the Ewok made a nice landscape-style cover (well, the front of it is lanscape at least....) for OCP's Special Edition Hype.

I dont want to use his bandwith by posting the cover, but you can find it fairly easily by going to his site (to go there, click HERE )..then click on the tab for "Dvd covers" and go all the way down. It is in the right hand column. Click on the preview to get the full size one.

As for some of the others..I'm not sure if there are specific covers out there for them...if not, then I would recommend either some of the stuff by Coov, Ell (take a look at what he has to offer while picking up "SEH"), or Darth Solo's Manga Covers. All of which can be found in this thread.

Hope that helps you out man
