Wow...I was actually going to do that for you.
I went through and "de-assified" everything in ROTJ and SW, and was going to do ESB after dinner tonight.

I guess now I dont have to anymore

Star Wars DVD Covers
Time
Wow...I just looked through this ENTIRE thread.

I had nothing to do this morning so i started briefing through from the beginning.

Truly impressive stuff.

As a whole though, I am going to have to say that Coov's covers are my personal favorites because they are original and unique looking. I can take a gander at them and I just know its a "COOV".

I also like some of the stuff by Ell as well. (Mainly the landscape covers)

Also...those manga covers rock my cock.

I think I will use those for my cowclops v2 transfers because they have the laserdisc logo on the spine.

All in all...great covers guys. You should feel proud knowing you have surpassed the quality of the official artwork.
Doesnt it make you cringe knowing that some schmuck got a FAT paycheck to design those DVD covers for the PT/OT and that the work you have done was not only exponentially better but was probably completed a lot quicker?

I seem to recall that the Jedi symbol from the PT is simply the Imperial insignia with one additional spoke.

Which logo? Maybe you're talking about the Republic logo, which is very similar to the Empire logo, but it's the Republic so, it has sense IMO.

For comparisson...here is the empire logo....similar, but different -

Does anyone know where there are links to Coov's covers - I'd like to make matching disc labels (unless there are already labels?).

Of course there are already labels!!

Do you think class acts such as OCP and Coov would overlook such things?

Here are the file directories of many of the covers for the classic editions. Disc art is also mixd in there. Just look for files that have the words "disc" in it and....well, you get the idea.

STUFF MADE BY OCP:

STUFF NOT MADE BY OCP: CLICK HERE!!!

Hope that helps! http://67.18.37.16/2087/182/emo/emoticon_27.gif,

laserdisc quality

just download a good LD transfer that is already available.

I personally have the cowclops v.2 set...which is a pretty nice LD transfer.

I also have the classic editions from OCPmovie (the creator of deleted magic)...which is a pretty interesting project (using the official dvds and removing the special edition stuff by replacing it with pieces off of the LD)

if you can download them...they're free...otherwise, i am sure most people here could tell you how to acquire a set of LD transfers for a small fee (basically to cover cost of materials used and shipping.)

good luck.

RatDVD - Please Use.
Time
I have used RatDVD twice now. I downloaded torrents for the two "made for tv" live-action Ewok movies from 1984 and 86 (Caravan of courage and battle for endor, respectively)

These were rips off of the officially available dvds, and the two files were approx. 850 MB each.

Menus, chapters, etc. were kept exactly how they were and to be honest...I am satisfied with the results.

These two Ewok movies were never exactly high quality pieces of film to begin with...and the ending result was more than watchable (considering all the bootlegs I have seen in my time) a little bit as "assy" video quality here and there is nothing to complain about.

I was satisfied when I used it....we'll see how I like it in the future if the need arises.

Thinking about it...you wouldnt use it for something like, say, the X-Zero project...where quality is everything, but for something small like I used it for...its a great tool.
