IN that Youtube video...during the Episode 4 part...I am almost positive the announcer says DARK Vader.
Also..was anybody else pissed that they pretty much ruined Empire with that clip? The whole ending...gone to waste. They could have just as easily used the "Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father" line and had the same effect, perhaps better.
Hey, I can understand where you guys are coming from, and I do think it is ludicrous that it was ever changed to begin with...but for some reason, the latest one sort of catches my eye a little bit better. However, I cant say the same for the rest of the DVD...just the Tantive.
And as for Episode III....I really could care less. I hardly ever watch the prequels. It has been over a year since I have seen Episodes I and II, and a good six months or so since I have seen III. As far as consistentcy goes for those...I couldnt care less. Thats not "my" trilogy.
I dunno...to be honest, I like the way it looks inside the Tantive on the 2004 DVD's better than the other versions.
However, almost all of tattooine is much to dark, as is mos eisly.
The fact that there are full on aliens and creatures that disappear on the 2004 dark versions is embarassing. People like Chewie and Greedo...instantly dissapear.
I just finished getting STAR WARS a few minutes ago. Its really well made. The menus, etc. are stuff I would expect from an official release.
The video quality is even better than Cowclops V.2 (which is the only preservation I currently own), in my humble opinion. I cant wait to see the other two.
Not sure...but I managed to download it in time from there.
My critique: Its awesome!
I have always wanted something like this.
There are a few points where it might have been nice if the music cues, for lack of a better term, flowed a little better, as to not make it so obvious that a line of dialogue or a scene was cut.
However, in the long run, this isnt that big of a deal as they are only a second or so and the main point of this release is the lightsabers.
As much as I hate them, I would distribute the films freely out to people who do not own them or have not seen them.
Hell, as cool as it sounds, it wont make an impact. Not unless you can get some media attention behind it.
You'd be better off donating them to a local library or day care or something. A place where it could actually do some good, regardless of whether or not its the SE.
