The Fall of the Jedi Trilogy (Released)

I want to be able to watch the series, in order, without having key moments ruined (i.e. Vader's comment in ESB).

How on earth are you going to do that? The PT seems to be designed entirely to ruin the best surprise in cinema history. Without cutting out almost every scene in the PT, I would be extremely surprised and impressed if you manage to pull this off.

Love the trailer, BTW.

Which version/release of the Star Wars movies do you watch and why?

The whole idea that fans, using (mostly) home video releases, could create a better-quality product than studios who actually have access to film masters and tons of expensive equipment seemingly defies logic.

Have you watched Adywan's Revisited fan edit? This fan edit alone shows how one person can create a professional-looking edit using affordable home technology and software.

I would suggest that someone new to the Star Wars movies would never suspect that ANH:R isn't the officially released movie.

Ah, yes - how he knows. I've actually moved this scene to after Palpatine's reveal. Though it's hard to see in just one unfinished scene, I want to depict that Anakin is already sort of in-league with Palpatine's before he "officially" turns.

Interesting. I think it will show that Anakin is truly confused about what to do for the best.

I'm actually thinking of using "we must move quickly if the Jedi Order is to survive".
I already used it, but I had trouble making it look like he was actually saying that line with the camera so close on his face.

Maybe you could use that line over a wide shot, just before the transition to the next scene.

Very nice. I love your work.

I think Anakin's decision to make the announcement seems a little rushed. Would it be possible to include a shot of Anakin in contemplation before he decides to say what he does? It could be included just after he walks away from the table, before he comes back to it.

Anyway, keep up the good work. Really looking forward to this one.

I always forget he's David McCallum's son and Michael York's step-son. Wierd.

Where did you get that from?

According to IMDB, David McCallum "has a daughter, Sophie, and son, Peter, from his marriage to Katherine Carpenter. Jill Ireland and he had three children, Paul McCallum, Valentine McCallum, and an adopted son, Jason, who died on 7th November 1989 from an accidental drug overdose."

what like a room-mate or split personality?

Exactly. This is their mantra:

"The first rule of the IP address is we don't talk about the IP address. The second rule of the IP address is what happens under the IP address stays under the IP address."

I'll never understand why people feel so threatened by this project. Enjoy whatever you wish to enjoy....no-one (certainly not us) is trying to stop you. Live and let live is apparently something that trolls have yet to figure out.

Insecurity. They probably have very small penises.

Wow, the trolls appear to be growing fangs.

1) Most of us are fans of Adywan, sure. Why the hostility?

2) Well, the project is far from complete, so it's a little early to pass judgement. But there's nothing wrong with active encouragement, is there?

3) Errrrr....no. Fan edit.

4) ???????? You got me on that one.

Am I missing something here?

It's Official: George Lucas hates his fans :P
Time

I think of it like this....

You rent a house from its owner. You move your family in, pay your rent, and everything is going fine.

Several years later the owner of the house suddenly decides to get some builders in and move some walls around, changing the sizes of the rooms.

Of course, the owner of the house has the right to alter his property as he sees fit. However, you and your family have been the ones to use and enjoy the house for several years.

Wouldn't you be a little bit annoyed? Just because you don't legally own the house doesn't mean you have no personal investment in it. And the owner is a douche if he doesn't recognise that fact.

Star Wars: Underworld (Cancelled Live Action Series) - general discussion thread
Time

McCallum:

...this is the best way to put it into perspective: we did Episode III—which is one of the larger of all the Star Wars films in relation to set construction, visual effects, the amount of visual effects and everything else—and that was made for $100 million which was unheard of even five years ago, because had it been made by any studio or anywhere in the United States it would have been easily double that price. So imagine an hour’s episode with more digital animation and more visual effects and more complicated in terms of set design and costume design than a two- hour movie that takes us three years to make, and we have to do that every week and we only have $5 million to do it. That’s our challenge

More of the same, soleless, bluescreen crap, then.

McCallum: It’s Empire on steroids.

This has got to win an award for most ridiculous soundbite ever.

General question. Does anyone know if the MKV version will be below 4gb (in order to avoid incompatibility issues with FAT32-formatted systems)? I've read that it will be 720p, but of high bitrate.

This made me chuckle a little. Thank you.

Why? There are plenty of 720p MKV BD rips available of the SW movies that are well below 4gb. So, I think it was a valid question.

It's just an easy way to resell the series - "Come and watch/buy this! It's got loads of new stuff you haven't seen before!"

It's a proven technique.
But a lot of the time they won't even mention that they made more changes. It's just assumed now.

And to answer the original post: I have no doubt in my mind that each new format will bring new changes.

Word-of-mouth can be a pretty powerful self-perpetuating hype machine (even if a large element of it is negative).

I don't think Fett needs to be in RotJ. He is a mysterious character and needs no formal entrance or fanfare exit. He is just there to do a job, gets it done, and then is gone. End of story. However, Lando's line (in ESB) about '...catching up with that bounty hunter...' would certainly appear to be a lead-in to seeing Fett in RotJ.
