Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist
Time

Awhile ago I remember us all talking about possible additions to the Hoth battle. More AT-ATs, AT-STs and the edition of speeder bikes. I liked these ideas and looked for a pic that showed how AT-ATs carried speederbikes. I could never find it, drove me crazy. While looking for the bridge pic I posted in the Empire revisted thread I found it. So I thought I would post it.

*please note Ady I very specifically did not post this in your Empire thread becuase I know you feel the matter is closed as far as your edits go.

I dont think that the MF is growing or shrinking. Its all about from what angle you shoot it.

Also the MF has the correct size when it passes the bridge and after when its landed at the back.

Im considering more the way that the Falcon shows up when it flies in front bridge. With that particular angle it should hit the SD surface.

Angel is completely right in this. I have made a very helpful little...well not so little, pic to help show this

I'm posting this here as I don't think Ady would go for it on his edits but its open for anyone else to try

I was thinking of a way to join the 2 trilogies together, in as subtle away as possible, & I have seen some attempts on youtube where people have inserted footage of the PT into the sequence where Vader is watching luke get fried in RotJ & thought if this could be done with sound alone it would work alot better

Specifically in TESB, where yoda is teaching Luke to see time "old friends long gone" we could have padme say something like "I can still feel good in him" or have dialog from one of the cut scenes of Bigg's

another way to link the  series would be to have Qui Gon say the line "No, There is another" but this one would depend on how you edit/interpret the PT in the first place.

If a slight echo was added to it & it was in the background it wouldn't really take away from the existing footage & could potentially be quite powerful if done right.

I dont think these will be popular ideas but I really like em.

Well I mean it WAS supposed to be a sunset shot....there's no hint of that in Vaderios's version.

I quote this again because i reconsider that.

No Its not Sunset from that point of view! The sun is behind the building so from that POV we see the city and its darker.

I did in purpose to lower the horizon so the city is visible.

The sith should hide and not be in towers ;)

As far as them being in the atmosphere it could be a energy field for security and not keeping the air in.  Very well done Angel but I think Id perfer something in between these two shots as far as the coloring goes.

okay now, I realize there is epic hatred of the prequels on these boards but you cant possibly hold them in the same league as the holiday special. come on now.

I'd watch the holiday special before I'd watch the prequels again.  At least the holiday special is funny in its own demented way.

I dont, for one second, believe that. I havent seen the HS since it originally aired and you'd have to clockwork orange my ass to make me watch again. Even then I would find the will to either make my heart stop beating or my brain explode or something.

recast the prequels
Time

Jango I would not recast, Boba would not be a clone

Hayden doesnt bother me (not to the biblical degree he bothers others) however I would recast me as Anakin and fuck up any scene I had with Natalie Portman that involved physical contact 100 times a piece.

Christopher Lee is too awesome to recast

Ian Mcdiarmid is beyond awesome

Liam Neeson as Qui-Gon is the shit, My favorite of the new characters'

I would recast Laurence Fishburne as Mace, basically have him play Morpheus as a Jedi...ahhhh yeeeeah

Ki-Adi Mundi would be recast as empty air

Sio Bibble....anyone else, does anyone else find that guy annoying? Ric Olie too, anyone else.

I agree that more CGI may be the way to go. I know you hold a nostalgia for model work but CGI can be done so it looks just as good as model work. I know most will disagree but the CGI Xwings in SW SE look way better than those models do now.

Hey Adywan can we get some Ewoks in Empire revisited? Maybe have a couple walking alongside an ugnaught and talking? Maybe they could help put Han into Carbon freeze?

Or maybe have some Gungans walking around in the background? Maybe a Neimodian or two?

I got the impression Adywan was just trying to save Janskeet some time while Janskeet may only be indicating he doesnt mind posting mutliple pics in order to be thorough, Or put another way...

Adywan: There is no need to spend a lot of time to post multiple pics, one pic normally conveys the idea.
Janskeet: Thanks for that but I dont mind at all and hope it helps.

instead of this.

Adywan: Dude stop posting multiple pics you tard!
Janskeet: No, Im gonna crash the forums with pics!

Abrams is Destroying Star Trek like Lucas has Destroyed Star Wars
Time

I was soooo looking forward to this fil. I was BEYOND hyped to see it...now I have seen it.

This movie is crap. It doesnt feel like Trek in any way shape or form. With all the early reviews this film was getting I was expecting this big epic thing. It never happened. I was almost bored. Nero is our badguy? A ex miner who lost his wife and now he....whatever Im done. This movie was swill, its not Trek.

edit: Oh I almost forgot, the musical score is awful. It was distracting for both my wife and I. Product placement and the fucking Beastie Boys in a Trek film. Has the world simply gone mad? How the hell did this movie get such good reviews?

You havent seen empire in 12 years?!?! Im not trying to be rude here, honest but why exactly are you on these boards then?

Since you seem to be new around here;

I stumbled onto these boards several years ago while trying to find a way to transfer a Laserdisc of Star Wars onto DVD.  I had\have no interest in the SEs (never have seen them) or the prequels (saw only Phantom).  Little did I know, I wasn't alone in my quest for Star Wars77 unaltered - in fact, far from it.

After getting settled in here, I also learned about audio-grabbing software and sound-editing programs that I had been in search of.  I also dig the wit and insight around here.  There's real passion here for the originals and that's very refreshing in our disposable society these days.

My Star Wars universe was also expanded considerably after joining these boards.  Through the suggestion of one of the members, I was put back in touch with the NPR radio version of Star Wars, as well as a few EU novels. A tip of the hat to C3PX and a few others for that.

This board is also where I learned about the book The Secret History Of Star Wars - a very interesting read. As someone who was present for the birth of the franchise, I found it nice to see that my memory of the articles & interviews - of what Star Wars was in 1977 - were not just my imagination. In fact, the book should be required reading for any fan.

Oh, and for the record - I don't dislike Empire, I just don't watch it terribly often.  It's when Lucas started shrinking the Star Wars universe, and I decided not to follow him.  It does, however, have some fantastic moments.  I think the scene where Luke is dangling below Cloud City - the atmosphere, the lighting, the tension, the overall feel - is one of the finest Star Wars moments there is.  And the asteroid field chase - brilliant in its idea and execution.  I'll end up getting a copy eventually.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to get back to reading your posts about how the ships in the prequels have better cockpit controls than the ships in the original films.

*edit*

Also worth pointing out, Axia;

The way the members here don't berate me for my narrow focus is the most important reason for my being here. On every other board I've seen, I'd have been hung out to dry for my views.

Thanks for that post, I was just surprised by the fact that you prefer SW in its 77ish only. But Im also surprised by the overwhelming dislike of RotJ on these boards as well.  If that makes sense. I honestly wasnt trying to berate you or anything. Far from it. As I am constantly having to defend my position on my Star Wars fandom I can certainly sympathise to having an unpopular opinion.

So if you or anyone else found my post offensive I would like to apologise.
