Distracting from what? Watching a little pod fly through space... this isn't dialogue! lol

You have to realize that Empire Strikes Back is the OPPOSITE of a normal film. The characters end up in a worse place then they began.

The music, as such, does the opposite as well... the big battle is in the beginning of the film, with the "big" internal battle at the end... to kinda balance it out...

But its really like a normal film backwards... this would explain why williams wrote sooo much music for the opening of the film... becuase normally only the end has a lot of music...

Notice too that at the end of the film, not a lot of music is used (the battle between Luke and Vader for example)

But yea... I can see why people want the other... but at the same time, I worked very hard to try to fix the film version of "Probe Droid" but the release is flawed. The horns are flipped and the mixing is all wrong.

Unless hes ok with that or don't plan to change the sync of the music... then I suggest trying the original unused one.

Lol, yes the Williams unused probe droid cue is loud and distracting. Why would you want music during the probe droid sequence anyway, I really want to know lol.

It's just loud enough that it drounds out the sound FX do a degree, and the sound FX isn't really all that loud for the most part during the sequence either. Thats my main beef with the unused original cue.

Anyway, this is Adys edit so if he wants to use it I cant stop him.

Yeah, no rush Ady, it's just friendly debating. No worries.

The reason I demostrated the original cue (yes, that's the ORIGINAL Probe Droid cue) rather than the film alternate is that is Ady is going to be rebuilding the Sound field, then the alternate will produce more problems than it will solve.

For one, the music quality is different than the rest becuase it was one of a couple tracks that are improperly and haphazardly mixed on the SE.

Two, it's missing a few bars which enable the transition between it and the music as Luke is on the taun taun.

And lastly, to simply show what it was like.

As for the request to mix in the sfx, I've done that before... but my video got pulled from YouTube... I'll post it again here if you'd like...

The original unused cue Williams wrote is just too loud and distracting for the most part IMO. It does; however, work for a couple of scenes in your clip IMO. But I really cant officially judge until Ady rebuilds the soundtrack. But as it stands right now in my opinion, I believe Lucas made a good call to the cut the original cue williams wrote, and implement one that not so distracting.

No offence to you at all GoodMusician, people have their prefferences.

Ady, Sorry to hear about your monitor. Wish I could donate but my funds are really short at the moment.

Anyway, I'm reposting a suggestion from a few pages that you probably didn't catch.

There is one SE change in ESB that I would like to see changed back to it's original if it hasn't been mentioned all ready. On cloud city when 3P0 walks away from company following the sound from a would be R2 unit into a unknown room. The voice "Who are you?" has been changed. Although it says the same thing, it's clearly a different voice. Is it possible to change that voice back to it's original?

Do you mean this post? It's still there...

Unfortunately the forum software at the moment does not have a feature to allow mods to move individual replys that were posted in the wrong thread. It's something we could do with.

Man, do I need to pay more attention to where I post. Thanks for clearing that up Moth3r. Don't know how I got Ady's thread confused with that one.

It's fatser because it does not rely on "seeders" who may or may not be putting out much bandwith. I get really good speeds on news groups. The only thing about Adys release that I did not like was that I had to make a ISO file from the extracted 4 plus gig Rar file which took up almost 5 extra gigs of HD space. So for a release that was about 5 gigs in size took up almost 10 extra gig's, and this does not include the space all the news group Par files took up which was over 4 gig's I believe. So were looking at 16 plus gig's of HD space total just to make a DVD -5 of Starwars:Revisited.

I will be torrenting the DVD-9 release to save on HD space.

Seems like the music is a little loud during some moments of the space battles. Made the dialog a little dificult to make out especially with all the sound FX going on. Of course this is just my opinion as the next person might find it perfectly acceptable.

Ok, finially made my copy of this and sat down to check it out. There was one instant where the sound went out during the 20th century fox fan fare, and the video paused for a brief second where R2 and 3PO are lost in the desert. This is due to either my dvd burner or my dvd player and I use a old Denon 2800 which is prone to such artifacts. BTW, there were some parts where the music was just over bearing. A good example is where Luke is watching the binary sunset. I had to turn my system down it was so loud. Did anyone else have to do this also?

Anyway, I really enjoyed the whole thing ADY, keep up the fantastic work!!
