STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

ady, do you notice how the top of Luke's hat is darker? It almost looks like a subtle gradient has been pulled down from the top of the frame by about 1/5 of the image.

Not sure if that was in the original or just in yours, but it seems like unfinished cc (or unfinished grading if it's from the DVD/Blu-ray/Revisted). Almost as though the gradient was meant to only be applied to the background, but was never masked out from Luke's face/hat.

Sorry if I'm being unclear. I could always run it through photoshop to demonstrate what I'm talking about.

TRON: LIBERTY *** QUICK UPDATE *** (* unfinished project *)
Time

Alright guys, I'm bringing this one back to life. Got Media Composer up and running on my desktop as well as ProTools. I'll be looking into some synthesizer libraries and looking at maybe composing some stuff for the film myself.

I was hoping to get DaVinci Resolve on here too, but you need an NVIDIA graphics card, and mine's an AMD.

My MacBook Pro can "technically" run it, but it's super unstable.

I'm gonna try to install Adobe CS6 after production of a short film this weekend and try out Adobe SpeedGrade too.

I'm just gonna have to make sure I schedule time specifically for this so that it doesn't fall behind and neither does production and post-production on all my other projects.

Thought I'd take the McQuarrie face part and put it on Anakin, utilising the hood as a few others have done, but I also tried for a more direct middle ground between their costumes. Anakin's suit now in black, plus the torso, and the robe is now a hooded-cape.

When did The Empire Strikes Back become more highly regarded than Star Wars?
Time

Father Skywalker said:

You misinterpreted my extreme - often offensive - opinions, as "trolling"; this reminds me of a situation with this stupid user on the Jedi Council forums

Don't misinterpret what I'm saying. I'm not insulting you, nor am I implying that you're stupid in any way. I apologise if you interpret it that way, I'm just making a reference to somebody that I find annoying, not you. So take no offense and don't worry about it.

I've taken the liberty of translating Father Skywalker's latest post, removing hyperbole and redundancies, adding proper punctuation and capitalisation, as well as correcting the spelling and grammar.

Also, please note that what FS has called an "apology" is not a real apology as he isn't exactly showing remorse for his own actions.

This PSA has been brought to you by the letter "I". "I" is for "Irony".

When did The Empire Strikes Back become more highly regarded than Star Wars?

For me it comes down to a few things;

Character transformation - every character continues to transform to a point of mature growth. Think of each of the characters from the beginning of the film compared to the end.

Cinematography - the cinematography is this is film is by FAR the best in the trilogy.

Action Choreography - the action scenes (ESPECIALLY the duel) are handled expertly.

The Acting - everyone's performance was pushed up a level

The Universe - the audience got to delve into the SW Universe so much more in this one. We saw the Emperor, got a better understanding of Vader, saw unconventional ships (like the Slave 1), different factions (the bounty hunters), and more.

The Music - some of the most iconic musical cues in history come from this film (Imperial March)

The Bad-guys win - an unconventional ending

Pacing - the pacing is the biggest one (beside cinematography) in my opinion. It flows so much nicer. SW almost fell apart because of how poorly paced the film was. The entire movie was saved by the editor. ESB didn't have this problem.

Since when did ROTJ become less highly regarded than even Episodes II or III?
Time

The cinematography was sub-par, and the pacing and story got screwed over due to Studio restrictions (no duel in the core of Coruscant, no assault on Coruscant surface, no wookie army etc).

The cinematography in Revenge of the Sith was stunning. Granted, the CGI become dated VERY quickly, and the actors probably gave their worst performances they had ever given in their career (save for TPM and AOTC), but the pacing was well handled, and the locations were breathtaking (unlike the red-wood forests of California - again thanks to Fox - and the very plastic-like set of the Death Star).

It was such a shame. Anyone know why Fox place such restrictions on ROTJ? I know some of it was to make it more kid-friendly, but why cut down on budget when the film was going to gross millions more then the proposed budget?

Thanks for the update! I'm sure everyone appreciates it. :D

By the way, I wanted to let you know; being in film school and working as a T.A. for another film related program, I've got access to a LOT of free and talented resources if you need them (anything from voice actors, to animators, sculptors, sound designers etc etc). I work at an advertising firm too so graphic designers/motion graphics designers are always at the disposal. Let me know if any of this would be of any assistance to you.
