Star Wars: Renascent *** NOW AVAILABLE!!! ***
Time

The 700Mb one sometime this month. The final version in DVD quality and surround sound with the little frame mistakes fixed with a DVD menu will be available on the last friday of the year (Christmas 2009). First I have to get the DVD 9s though but right now I'm in a financial hole haha. I didn't get any shifts at work this week or last week and I have my cell phone bill left to pay. Once I do that I think I should be able to (unless the bill is really high cause of long distance calls). I'll let you guys know when I get the DVD-9s

Well we're not releasing the raw WMV file. That's just for me and you. The rest get the 700MB avi for now but in December, I'll go back, fix the mistakes, render it as MPEG and then put it in the DVD with menus. I can honestly say I've learned much with this project as it's my first time tackling something so big.

From what I've seen with DVD Architect, it looks like it works similar to a website. I have experience with that so that shouldn't be a problem.

DAMMIT! It's like 5 Mb over the limit to burn it to a standard DVD! Looks like I'll have to go out and get a DVD 9 to stick them both on. These are the corrections that will be made for the DVD:

-Two random frames before Luke Yells "Nooooo!"

-Two frames of black while Anakin is saying "She went into the club master"

- "George Lucas" doesn't fade out

-"Asteroid-Man" doesn't fade in

-The music selection list doesn't fade in

-Slight music bleed at one point in the AOTC Clone battle

These are just small mistakes that I'll go back and fix for the final version in December. Ripplin, let me know if you find any other mistakes. Worry not OT posters, these can easily be fixed. Right now I'm trying to convert it to 700 mb

YES! It's done and the last few minutes I didn't see only had one mistake in the fading of one name but it's in the credits. I'm going to just leave it due to two reasons:

1) It's in the credits

2) It took three days to render

The file is 4.44 GB so when I send it to ripplin, it should be able to fit on one regular DVD and then I'll put the 700mb one on a cd. Again, the raw file is for Ripplin and the lower quality one will be available for download. Do any of you guys know how to do DVD Menus or am I gonna have to do that myself? I think I'm gonna take a break on the DVD creation until the summer because I have exams coming up and then I'm gone for a 2 week trip to Ottawa. But when I get back I'll work on the DVD.

Thanks for everyone's help! And thanks ady for the HDD help! That was the problem and it works now. Ripplin I'll send it either this weekend or on monday by express.

Yeah, it sounds like your drive is FAT32 - in order to change it, you need to reformat your hard drive, which means erasing everything.

no you don't have to do that. you can use a program like partition magic to change the formatting from FAT32 to NTFS without losing anything. All it does is change the file system so all your files aren't changed.

Hmm... I might need to try this... Now if I could fix my Maxtor drive.... Does anyone know why it keeps telling me to format when nothing is there? It keeps me from using it. Could Partition magic help this?

Partition Magic should be able to help with that. Just select the drive and go to Convert and select NTFS and it'll repair the drive I think. I was playing around with it yesterday and what it does is create a temporary partition for the files, patch the rest and then removes the partition, merging the remaining files with the rest of the Hard Drive. It's pretty quick too. I'm gonna try rendering the movie again tonight and it should work this time.

^ Scary that some dude can replicate Yoda better than the team who created him for TPM.

I thought it was the same puppet in TPM just the lighting and puppetmaster sucked and the puppet was getting old and deformed.

EDIT: Nevermind, apparently that was just a rumour and it WAS redesigned. My mistake.

with all the talk of the skies when Luke approaches Bespin i thought it would be best if i posted a screenshot of my version. Again this shot has full video motion clouds so you can't really get a sense of what the finished shot will be like until you see it in motion, plus the x-wing is missing

I just see one small thing wrong with it, the clouds at the front seem to have a dark/blurred out outline around their edges.

Ok, so I watched it while taking down notes about mistakes and I came out with about a page and a half of them. There's two that I'm stuck on still. One is that there are lines (with a height of only one pixel) that show up once in a while where the pixels are incorrect. They're like streaks of pixels that show up once in a while.

Problem number two is that the video was slightly slowed down so the video's run-length is the same as in the project but it cuts out the end of the film because that time is already filled.

Help appreciated!!!

I used the prologue, the first half of the chase, the love scene and the parents die scene. I played with them a bit and the quality is on par with the rest now. It doesn't look like shit though I can understand your concern. By the way guys It took me a week to finish the first draft after putting in the deleted scene. I started all the technical work months ago. Again, it's only the first draft, then Ripplin will go over it and I'll fix it again. TJ, I can't even put your username in "special thanks"?
