A new Star Wars Trilogy on the way?
Time

Please NO!!!!!! Wait a couple decades and just reboot it. No Star Wars ANYTHING for 20 years, then release a new Star Wars Saga - start with Episode I, BUT use the freaking outline set out in ESB!!!! Obi-Wan was too old, NOT Anakin. Anakin's fall is supposed to be a surprise that no one saw coming, don't use Jar-Jar, make it more true to the OT. Then move on the Episodes 4-6, so this way they can use the same actors and keep things consistent. OT should be exactly the same - no differences, except take out the incestuous undertones and in twenty years CGI will look 100% seamless (compared to the 95% of Avatar). Just let Star Wars fade into the crowd for a good twenty years... seriously Lucas. Piss off.

There is one thing I'm excited to see: CG Yoda in TPM!!!

I'm also hoping for a more OT faithful CG Yoda render for the PT.
I honestly think the PT Yoda model looks like a younger, more plump Yoda:

He has the same bone structure and just looks like he lost a lot of weight during the exile.

I know it's off topic, but it's kind of on.

Here's what I wanna see (I didn't make it)

*sigh* No, I don't dislike the PT soundtracks. In fact, I consider the soundtracks of Ep. 1-3 to be a good deal superior to that of ep. 6. My comment was simply a sarcastic response to fishmanlee's:

i really think there should be NO howl

It was intended to be an amusing dig, given the fish's history of "rescoring."

Haha, alright, thank God. I was beginning to think you were trolling. :P

When did Star Wars stop being fun? (aka, the Anti-Correct Viewing Order thread)
Time

Why not just create your own continuity, through selection and editing? That's what I'm doing - hell that's even what I did with Batman - I made my own continuity out of select comics, shows, games and movies that make sense and that flow - some parts through flashback, others through chronology.

In terms of SW, I used to follow ever single bit of EU out there, until I realized how retarded a lot of it was... so I made my own continuity and I started editing the films (even before "Renascent" - they just weren't good enough to release). Why complain about something when you can make it worth loving? Unhappiness is just a self-inflicted state of being.

Anyways, that's just my opinion on the matter...

Correct viewing order of ALL official Star Wars related movies / series ?
Time

IV, II, V, III, VI. So much cooler, and screw anyone else who tells me differently! In this way I can dilute the old audio/video quality with the shitty new dialogue and plot holes - actually to be honest now I just watch my edit, then V then III then VI. I have a feeling that when parts II and III of my edit are done, I'll only ever watch it that way. Of course this is all just personal preference and not at all the "correct" viewing order.

If you were going for Chronological, I would HIGHLY recommend playing TFU 1&2 or watching the cutscenes at least between episodes III and IV.

I hope for everything CG ;)

Haha very funny. As anti-cg a lot of the OT posters are, I believe that it has only just recently gotten to a point where it can be seamlessly placed into a live action film - which does still leave some hope for the PT as they can now replace all of the TERRIBLE CG renders they used: Jar-Jar (let's be realistic - they won't delete him, the best they can do is not make him look like metallic plasticine), they could replace the Yoda renders with a more realistic one, and one that looks like the Yoda from ESB and ROTJ. I still have some small amount of hope that they'll get things right... if not in this release than dammit in the next release!!! Come on Lucasfilms, do SOMETHING right!

It doesn't make any sense comparing the lighting on the three guys compared to the lighting of the background.

DF Shadow’s control room approach addresses that problem, doesn’t it?

Unfortunately it doesn't SOLVE the problem, but it does improve it. Personally I will not be using it for my second edit, but ady has made his decision and it's valid based on the cameo.

I'm not sure if this has been discussed or not, but the perspective and scale aren't the only issues in this shot, the lighting is also done TERRIBLY. It doesn't make any sense comparing the lighting on the three guys compared to the lighting of the background. Can we just cut this shot?

I will refuse to buy STAR WARS on bluray!
Time

Well obviously it will be digital data, but that's the same for a laser disc - the only difference is that all laser disc players have analogue audio out, whereas almost all Blu-Ray players only support digital audio out - BUT if you have an audio decoder, you can still get analogue audio out of a Blu-Ray. The disc and format of Blu-Ray isn't to blame, it's the player. Seriously Blu-Ray Discs and Laser Discs are both digital data storage devices, BUT you can still get analogue out of both Laser Discs and Blu-Ray - it's just harder with the Blu-Ray Players because you'll require an audio decoder.
