Has the possibility of using Sebastian Shaw + ROTS wardrobe been discussed? Him looking like Anakin in his youth confused me a bit, and him wearing Obi-Wan’s robes confused me even more.

Just food for thought.

Since that post Adywan hasn’t posted anything new. WHAT’S GOING ON ?!? IS HE STILL ALIVE ?!?

Maybe he’s busy working on ESB:R…

I’m gonna wager a guess that MalaStrana was being sarcastic 😉

So was I…

Ah yes, the ironic double-sarcastic anti-joke - the lowest form of humour. 😛

Some guy on reddit posted this ridiculously nice-looking 3D render of the Death Star assault from ANH. Might be too late for this now, but if ady approached him, he might have other 3D models he’d be willing to help with on future revisited projects. Posting in here in case there was something ady was hoping to accomplish and could use this guy’s help for.

I feel you guys. It’d be nice if the forums had an “ignore” or “block” function - it could definitely help weed out annoying posters. I didn’t mean to be patronising or condescending to you guys, it’s just that it pains me to see posters I respect snap (although I understand we all do it).

sigh I’m speaking in relative terms. He joined in 2014 - this thread is from 2008. He hasn’t been around for the entire ride. In any case, if you’re going to take anything from what I wrote, don’t focus on the “be welcoming to noobs” part, but rather the “be patient and courteous” part.

You should never, ever ask questions like that. It makes you like an impatient little kid. It will come out when it comes out.

Don’t be an ass. He’s not having an entitled fit, he’s merely asking for an update.

If that was one post in a vacuum, you might be right. But it’s not, and you’re not.

As a community, we have to be patient with each other. I like you, Frink. I know you’re not actually a jerk, but you don’t need to act like one. We have a common interest and a common goal. Don’t make an enemy of me, my friend.

It seems of late, a LOT of people have become cranky. This is a COMMUNITY, and in a community, it’s our responsibility to be courteous and open with one another. Not everyone is as up-to-date as the rest of us. There are 1308 pages in this thread with 25 posts per page. That’s nearly 33,000 posts. Would it not be easier for you to answer the questions of a newcomer than to be crabby and demand that they read 33,000 posts? We were all brought here by a passion we share. If you don’t want to answers someone’s questions, don’t post a response to them.

A lot of patronisation and rude condemnation has been going around in these forums in the last few years - both from critics of adywan and his ardent defenders. I encourage everyone to try to remember the basic principles in handling people:

Don’t criticize, condemn, or complain. Human nature does not like to admit fault. When people are criticized or humiliated, they rarely respond well and will often become defensive and resent their critic. To handle people well, we must never criticize, condemn or complain because it will never result in the behavior we desire.

Give honest and sincere appreciation. Appreciation is one of the most powerful tools in the world. People will rarely work at their maximum potential under criticism, but honest appreciation brings out their best. Appreciation, though, is not simple flattery, it must be sincere, meaningful and with love.

Arouse in the other person an eager want. To get what we want from another person, we must forget our own perspective and begin to see things from the point of view of others. When we can combine our desires with their wants, they become eager to work with us and we can mutually achieve our objectives.

So here's a note that is to be included in distribution of the fan-edit:

Note from the Re-Editor:

First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to watch this fan-edit! A few years worth of time went into this fan-edit. Although in hindsight there is much I'd do differently and tighten up (technically speaking), this fan-edit was a big undertaking for me and taught me a lot about editing as I went along.

Due to everyone's support along this process, my technical abilities and passion for filmmaking was nurtured and I'm now working in the film and television industry as a Director, Editor and Composer!

As an individual who understands all of the hard work involved in filmmaking, I would ask that you please own a legally obtained copy of the Star Wars movies (Episodes 1-4) before downloading this film.

Well, that's not how bandwidth works.  One person downloads it and you've used up 8gb of your 10gb bandwidth for the month.

Having said that, the document is a report intended to cover their ass legally.  It has nothing to do with how they actually run things, and the only reference I can find on the actual site supports the bandwidth being reset like towne said.

Basically, ignore the guy talking about the bandwidth limit until you actually see it happen.  I use Mega and have never run into this.

It depends on the service really.

If the service has to store the file locally, it's there and you're paying to keep the file there. So 8GB of 10GB is THERE and people can chose to download from the server. If the services uses each access as "bandwidth usage" they're screwing you.

Some services require you to provide your own harddrives - in this case, they charge the service link as banwidth. A good example of the first option is WeTransfer. They host the file for a short period of time and the file can be downloaded an unlimited amount of times. It's already on the server, so if someone wants to download it a hundred times they could (so long as the server isn't overloaded). An example of the latter is StationEx which does international transfer from Harddrive to Harddrive and the files aren't stored anywhere.

I'll do some research on Mega and report back. Just in Pre-Produciton on a film right now and started a 9-month contract in the editing department so I'm still adapting to a different schedule. Should have time to go through this stuff on Monday.
