Is there a difference between the Angrysun Kill Bill vol. 1 version and the Official Japanese Kill Bill vol. 1?
I already have the official Japanese dvd so I was wondering if Angrysun's version includes even more footage...

Only the Japanese Version of Kill Bill offers fans the FULL Color version of the final showdown battle in the House of Blue Leaves! Get the whole adrenaline-pumping action in its special hardcore cut version, which lets you enjoy a totally new level of violence and it also includes three additional minutes of footage!

But what is the difference between the official japanese release and the Angrysun version? Angrysun's version doesn't have the House of Blue Leaves in color?

EDIT: Whoops, nevermind... I understand it now. My bad.

I learned a lot about the ac3 encoding process etc. my original LD capture from the definitive version always suffered from very quiet sound but the new soundmix has been harmonised properly and the normalisation set correctly as per this thread. worth a look.

I also tried that guide but it doesn't work for me. The audio was very very soft in my tests.

Info & Help Wanted: for DVD Menu Info

Do you mean by menu picture the background picture? DVD-lab will adjust background pictures to the right size so it doesn't matter what size it is. But as Tellan said, keep the aspect ratio in mind.

Do you want to make the background + text/buttons etc in DVD-lab or in photoshop? Since you just want a basic I would just add a background and add the text in DVD-lab. Then use "add scene selection menu" after you made chapter points in the movie.

I've seen so many transfers I really got confused about the colors. The star wars clips in the WOW! clip of the THX demo disc are rather red (but I think it looks pretty cool). Many people think the official 2004 dvds are rather blue. Can you give an indication of what color the X0 transfer will be like? Or does is differ very much for different scenes?

OK but the biggs scenes are available. I can understand mixing it up when you actually have seen the scene and the movie. But anyway I just called my brother to ask him one last time. He said some 7 or 8 years ago he had the original version on tape. He went to a friend and they watched his friends version (recorded from tv). The scene with the guy tied to the bed was longer and you could see the head in the box at the end of the film (it was not pulled out of the box, that's probably how I remebered it). They agreed to switch their tapes, my brother wanted the hard version, his friend was interested in the original tape. The trade never took place... At the time he was sure about the two different versions. I asked if he could recall the scene. He couldn't. He just remebers they wanted to switch the tapes because of it. So to make a long story short, there probably isn't an extended version. But I'll do my best to get my hands on the tape he was talking about but it probably doesn't exist anymore.

There is no "uncut" version. There is only the theatrical version.

Yes there is. At the end of the movie you actually see the head that's pulled out of the box. Also the scene when the guy tied to the bed is discovered is longer.

Sorry. You're mistaken. There is no such thing.

Well, a few years ago I bought seven on dvd. I watched it with my brother. When we saw the "head in box" scene he started laughing. He thought it was funny I bought the censored version. He said he watched the movie before at a friends place (it was recorded from tv) and in that version the head was visible (and some other scenes were longer). I asked him at least 10 times if he was absolutely sure. He said he was.

This is not true. If PAL is progressive already why can it be deinterlaced? Deinterlacing means making it progressive. PAL can be interlaced or progressive. I have lots of PAL interlaced dvds. Almost every camcorder films interlaced.

Or I really don't get it anymore
PAL is ALWAYS progressive? Well that means I can apply every filter in virtualdub without prolem then. Makes things a lot easier!
But really, I still can't believe it.

Is there a program that can test if an avi is interlaced or progressive?

So yes, the "progressive frame" box in CCE's Picture Quality dialogue should be checked.

Sorry but I don't agree. In the CCE manual it says: "select when footage is progressive". My footage is not progressive it is interlaced. The manual also says: "if you apply this option to interlaced source, it may cause a decline in quality" (page 78: 5.3.11 progressive frame).
The video has 50 fields which make 25 frames but it remains interlaced. Only when I deinterlace I get 25 progressive frames. But I don't deinterlace.
