I hear that someone is already selling this on Yahoo auctions with a bunch of other fan-created projects. This angers me, as i'm sure it does all of you. Do a google search for "returning to jedi" and you can find it.

Anyways, if anyone can make a copy, please PM me. I have no access to a DVD burner and I'm DESPERATE to see it.

well, this documentary is better spread than any was before. If they don't find it now for free, what else can you do?

You can make an auction on ebay and explain it's not for sale and give all the links to the download options.

Windows Vista
Time
I actually liked Windows XP. It always worked for me, didn't have to spend much time repairing stuff. I use windows because a lot of the programs I want to use only work under windows. I think it's difficult to switch operating systems when you're used to one. If all my programs would work under Linux than I would probably learn to use that.

I tried Windows Vista Basic Home edition today. It worked OK on my computer. It looked really nice. I like the sidebar with the clock and cpu/mem meters and all other gadgets you can activate and place as you like. But after a clean windows install the next thing I do is install an anti-virus program. And that was a problem because my anti-virus software that I love (and works perfectly under XP) doesn't work with Vista (yet). So now I have Windows XP again (it only took about 3 minutes to switch back to XP because I use Norton Ghost).

Can someone please help me out? I finished downloading this and now I would like to burn it. I have burned dual-layer discs in the past use the program PcgEdit (to set layer breaks and everything). Does this already have layer breaks set into it? If so, would burning it through PcgEdit mess anything up? And if it would, what program should I use to burn it? Can I make an ISO using ImgTool Classic and then just burn it through something like ImgBurn? I just really don't want to mess up my original files or make a coaster trying to get this right. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!

When making an ISO one of the layerbreaks isn't shown by pgcedit because it's out of reach to use as layerbreak. If you have dvd-lab you can use it to remove both layerbreaks in the ifo file (project > pre-mastering > set layer break). You can use ifoedit to open the ifo file and check if there's no chapterpoint flagged as layerbreak. After that make an ISO using pgcedit and select a layerbreak option you like (and burn it with imgburn). Problems fixed.

That's what I was thinking too. I think home basic doesn't even have a media player, so you can just install one you like.

Encountering errors trying to burn a DVD from a VIDEO_TS folder
Time
What program in demo mode?

In pgcedit you can select the path for imgburn to burn the image when it's created. I never do that.
I'm going to make an image of Jambe Davdar's Returning to Jedi.

Open pgcedit. Press the button on the top left.
http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/8192/clipboard01tn4.jpg

Go to your VIDEO_TS folder and press "ok". Pgcedit will scan the files. After scanning press "close".
http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/1176/clipboard02kp9.jpg

Press the burn button (don't worry nothing's getting burned yet). Press "ok" when a message pops up (about the 32k stuff).
http://img413.imageshack.us/img413/1770/clipboard03ye4.jpg

Then it should look like this. You can select the output path (a different hdd is best).
http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/7859/clipboard04mh0.jpg

Press "ok" and the layerbreak options will appear. The light blue one is the current layerbreak as it is marked in the ifo file by the creator. The dark blue one is the one I currently selected. To remove the existing one select it and press "seamless cell". If you select a different one you see the previous one is not light blue anymore. You can now select the chapter point you want as layerbreak and press "ok" (double click to view the chapter).

If there are indeed to few chapters to create a layerbreak I don't know how it will look. Maybe the list will be empty? Or you will get some other message...

Pgcedit is now creating the ISO/Image file. You can burn this file with ImgBurn to your disc.

Verbatim +r is all I ever use. Sorry, I don't know why your burn failed or what you can do about it to make the next one succesfull. It could have been just bad luck.

I also experimented with playlists in dvd-lab but on the scene changes I always had slight pauses when playing back in my dvd player.

How many possibilities for the layerbreak did you have? I always select one somewhere in the middle to make both layers about the same size.

I also had trouble burning my first DL discs. It's difficult to say if you did something wrong. What type of media did you use and at what speed did you burn it?

How did you create the "seamless" branching? Did you make a chapter playlist using dvd-lab? If so it will not be seamless (even if you would burn to a SL disc). Does the branching play seamless on your compter? Why do you think the branching will go from layer to layer, did you try to make it that way?

I Am Ready To Purchase Editing Programs

If you just want to cut and paste video and audio and author a dvd womble mpeg and dvdlab pro is enough for now. If you want to change the audio or video you need more.

Besides:
BeSweet (+ BeLight) = free.
SubRip = free.
PGCEdit = free.
DVDShrink = free.
ImgBurn = free.

In pgcedit you can place them at a chapter point. I usually place them at a chapter point so both layers are about the same size. You probably don't want to place the chapter break in the middle of a moving scene. Otherwise you my notice a slight stutter during playback. If you select seamless layerbreak in imgburn it doesn't really matter I think (although it depends on your dvd player a bit).

Nero will burn the disc fine that's not the problem (and I use it for all my SL discs). But nero needs one layer (and I forgot which one) to be larger. So if you placed your carefully selected layerbreak at a "wrong" place nero will choose it's own layerbreak position. And usually it will be at places you don't like. With imgburn you can select the option of seamless layerbreak (the layerbreak will not be marked as layerbreak and the dvdplayer will play it seamless).

Edit: If you don't really care about the layerbreak Nero is fine ofcourse.
