The difference between fanatic Muslims and Christians...
Time
I admit the thread title is too black&white. I know the situation is much more nuanced. But there isn't very much "title space". Maybe I shouldn't have used "Muslims and Christians" but maybe "Western world" and "Islamic countries".

I'm not trying to put Christianity on a pedestal. I'm very aware of history. But right now I'm only concerned with the present and the future.

Fact is generally speaking Islamic countries are very intolerant of other/western cultures. I hate those left suckers (I think on this forum they are known as lefties) bitching we aren't as tolerant as we used to be. Hell, Muslims live in peace in the west and they can freely practice their religion here, wear their religious clothes, build their houses of religion in our society.
You aren't even allowed to own a Bible in Saudi arabia (let alone build a church). The law requires citizens to be Muslim.

Yes, there are some Christian fanatics that aren't to fond of gays but I don't see them hanging them from the bridge publicly like they do in Iran.

In the largest Muslim country, Indonesia ( yes, the former Dutch colony), violence against Christians steadily increases.

In Egypt Christian are regarded second class people and are actively persecuted by Islamic militants.

I'm an atheist (well, some days I'm agnostic) so what do I care about all this? It goes against everything I believe to be right. And to most Muslims I'm just as much an infidel as any Christian.

Star Wars DVD Covers

Does anyone know what the "official" covers for both the Farsight and Rowman Definitive Collections Supplementals discs look like? I have several Blaksvn covers from an old DVD of star wars covers, but I can't figure out what goes with what.

I can post small pics of what I have if it helps.

Blaksvn/Rikter made a matching set for the 4 Rowman discs (The Ultimate Supplemental Collection). Disc 1 is for the DC LD extras. Is this the one you have?

There's this politician (Wilders) here in the Netherlands and he's making an anti/critical Quran movie. No one has seen this movie, no one has any idea of the content of this movie. No one even knows for sure it exists. Still, there's an uproar in the Muslim world, protest, Dutch flag burnings. I have to admit, it's kind of weird seeing your flag being burned by people who apparently are against you for some reason. Ofcourse Americans are used to this phenomenon but it's very new for me. Anyway I think the reactions from the Muslim world are bizarre (just like the Muhammed cartoon riots).
The Netherlands have soldiers in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban and when one dutchman is critical towards Islam the Afghan population suddenly is against everything that's Dutch. I really begin to understand how Americans must feel.

Greetings from Kabul:

Now, there are also a lot of dutch people who made critical movies, funny movies, etc, about the Bible/Christianity. Here's an example of a movie:

Now, the funny thing is, I don't see any flag burnings or an uproar anywhere, not even a flag burning in Vatican city. Strange...

This is all known ofcourse but I just thought I should mention it here, this stuff is all new to me.

Also, a nice picture that shows the difference between Hamas and the Israeli defense force:

Why didn't Darth Vader hit Luke's ship?

I noticed in the film that whenever Vader fired at someone, it took a couple to a few seconds before one of his bolts actually hit his target. When he fired at Luke Han got him before he could fire a shot that could hit him.

When Vader shot down Tiree (Y-Wing) and Red 12 (X-Wing in Red Leader's trio), he missed the first six shots. Vader manages only five shots at Luke before his wingman explodes.

It seems to take a while for a TIE's lasers to home in on the locked target.

Yes, you are right. I forgot about that.

That's it. The final nail in the coffin for EEDI2. I also found a blur bubble on a stormtrooper helmet. I sure liked how it looked over NNEDI on the R2 scene, but I can't justify screwing up everything else as a result. Plus NNEDI blurs way less.

Updating script now to switch to NNEDI.

I tried NNEDI too. Works good enough for me. And no damn artifacts at the known EEDI2 places. Good find!

Info Wanted: ROTJ Jabba subtitles
Time
Unfortunately I can't see the image mielr posted. Is the font the same as the Greedo subs in the widescreen bootleg? Or is it more like the font used for the Greedo and Jabba subs for the DC LDs?

What is the font called used for the DC?
What is the thread called that has the widescreen bootleg subtitle pics?
I've tried to search for all this but with the new search function I can't find it anymore.

I have found some more scenes in the film were eedi2 causes serious artifacts (like in the interrogation scene). It also happens at the floor in the scene were Leia is shot and captured by the stormtroopers and also on the tiny bridge Obiwan crosses to disable the tractor beam. Just thought I'd let you know to maybe adjust the script for these scenes if you want.

To show an image you have to type it like this, but without the spaces:

Search options
Time
I was wondering if it is possible to have the option to only search thread titles (as used to be the only option to search).

Sometimes I'm looking for a thread and I'm not sure what it's called anymore, I just know 1 or 2 keywords. When I search for those words I get a shitload of posts and I'm unable to find what I'm looking for.

EDIT: sorry, just noticed mielr already asked the same.

Yes, it's after eedi2 but I don't use "turnright" and "turnleft".

For sharpening I resize with limitedsharpenfaster (so I don't have to use an extra step of lanczos4resize). But since I use eedi2 without "turnright" and "turnleft" I don't need to sharpen as much. But as you showed using "turnright" and "turnleft" removes some vertical jaggies.

Well, I'm not saying your version is to soft, I was just wondering what you thought about it. I think your version of Leia standing in front of the stormtroopers looks better than mine. The image is cleaner than mine and I think the sharpness is about the same.

It's all just a matter of personal taste. Some people (probably most) prefer a clean image that may be a bit softer. I prefer a bit more grainy image that's a bit sharper (or at least the grain gives the impression it's sharper).

Btw, for my version I used some things from Moth3r's script like the color correction and contrast settings.

What are all the given figures for hyperdrive speed?
Time
Well, it would take Voyager about 70 years at maximum warp to travel from the delta quadrant back home. Apparently Han can fly to the other side of the galaxy far far away almost instantly. I don't know how fast the light travels in the Star Wars universe or how big the galaxies are but I would say the Millenium Falcon is way faster than any Star Trek vessel. But ofcourse a Borg transwarp hub is a faster way to travel but it's not nearly is practical as the Millenium Flacon.

"You is wrong, be sure* All engines good, everything chorosho. We don't see any problems." We insisted. They denied - and never admitted that the poorly designed & made engines caused the crashes - even after our second Il-62M went down 7 years later... due to the same problem (yes, even the modified variant suffered from the same errors!)... that's 270 dead people in total in those 2 cases, plus 8 more fatal crashes worldwide.

Well, if you know the engines are flawed it's majorly stupid to keep flying them.
