Who else is qualified to do this work? Mike Verta has no interest in this project, or The Empire Strikes Back. We're already collaborating with Harmy. Adywan has his take on it. So we ask again, who would have resources or the data to do this.

I do. I even have the herein-unnamed program (and a lot of experience with it) that ya'll are using.

Williarob told me that the team told him that they aren't interested in recruiting any new members.

Not sure if anyone brought this up yet, but what about Return to Oz? That seems up Team Blu's alley. I know there is a 1080i version out there. There is also an awesome feature length documentary called Return To Oz: The Joy That Got Away that was an internet only release. There's also extras from the DVD and a lot of cool stuff floating out there on YouTube. I think this is a really under appreciated classic that deserves a proper release that I know it will never get!

I second this request. A Team Blu release of this would be awesome!!!

Moth3r's guide to LD capture colour correction using AviSynth (emphasis on "correction")

Well, I finally got around to checking this out. I used the SMPTE color bar pattern on the AVIA DVD and...

Panasonic DMR-ES10 =(s-video)=> Hauppauge USB-Live2 Capture Card gives me surprisingly-close results using all default settings.

...

Question: Will this method help when the values are this close?

Why would you not just rip the DVD?

I was using the DVD (and DVD Player) as a signal generator to see if my capture card needed calibration.

Some capture cards really screw with the colors.

Thanks for setting-the-record-straight, Team-1. For the record: I never thought this was a hoax or anything of the sort. Keep up the good work!

And, for the 8mm one, you have to go to AMPS to see what is holding up the progress on that, where there are people that would prefer that to the 35mm one.

The Super8 project (as well as others) is on AMPS because we want to release hyperlinks to downloads and such without putting OT.com at risk. AMPS is more of an unofficial-sister-forum than competition.

The #1 thing holding-up the Super8 project right now is that its members are geographically-distant. It's difficult (and sometimes expensive) to ship things overseas.

The Troll Speculation Thread
Time

coltonlolz might be the best OT.com troll in recent memory.

He's an order-of-magnitude better than pat man and we're still not even sure if pat man was trolling... (Is everyone calibrated yet?)

I'm convinced that coltonlolz trolls an OT.com that's located in another dimension and his antics are leaking into this one. Only some of his posts have come through the interdimensional-aether, so we're stuck thinking: Is he a troll or is he just some infuriating teenager?

So here's to you, coltonlolz. You win the Troll Award. Yay!

Troll Award!
