Does anyone know if the CAV LDs of The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under are open matte?
Pre-recommendation Questions:
1. Do you have a TBC or something similar that puts out a really stable signal?
2. Do you have a separate RAID Array or SSD for capturing?
3. Do you require a 3D comb filter?
4. What's your budget like?
The colors of the 1990 LD definitely match my taste better than the 2013 DVD.
Now, whether or not it's more accurate (I hope so!) is an entirely different story.

I have. It gets really ridiculous, but interestingly reaches a steady-state after a few iterations. I think the number of iterations before the steady-state depends on the complexity of the input sentence.

Since the English->Chinese->English translation cycle is inherently lossy, multiple passes should result in even more ridiculous translations.

There's a Super8 print (not Derann) with pretty good color. The 1985 CAV P&S LD release is pretty good as well.
Neither of these are truly "accurate" of course, but they're most likely better than many other sources.

You have two options:
1. Grade to a known reference
2. Grade so that it "looks good" to you
A combination of (1) and (2) is probably best when a truly accurate reference (such as an IB Technicolor print) doesn't exist.
