Hey guys! Guess what's being captured RIGHT NOW... (!)
Hey guys! Guess what's being captured RIGHT NOW... (!)
Wow, that's fucking amazing, ady! Keep up the good work!

I'm just wondering if it's still possible to get a hold of any TeamBlu releases (specifically the CONAN ones)...
I have NOTLD and Conan on an currently-otherwise-unused SSD. I can get access to them in a week or so (if you haven't already found them, that is).

Why haven't they offered to create private torrents for other MS members so they can either get these or complete what they already have?
Nobody wants to piss off DJ, myself included.
Also, it would be a pain-in-the-ass to send out PMs to everyone who pops in here and asks how/where to download.

Thanks!
No problem. :-)

Well I know what happened now.......still not sure I understand. MySpleen is just as "safe" as any other private tracker. Ooookay then!
I don't think it was taken down due to safety/legal concerns.

are there fanedits out there that are based on the 1995 thx versions of the old trilogy? you know, the last ones that came out before the special editions?
The master used to produce the 1995 THX releases is the same one used to produce the 2006 Theatrical Bonus DVDs (a.k.a., GOUT).
Team Blu is doing their own upscaled/cleaned-up/etc. release of GOUT. I guess one could consider this a "fanedit", but I don't think the term applies well to this kind of work; "restoration" would be more fitting.
Come to think of it, where is the thread for that restoration?

Why don't we put a search box in the corner that just does that?
Jay should do this, if only to lessen the number of "How do I search?" posts.

Like the Yuuzhan Vong. *shudder*
I'd take the Yuuzhan Vong over the One Sith or any such similar garbage.
from favorite to least favorite:
1. Jabba the Hutt
2. Empire
FTFY.
Guys... just stop. This bickering is pointless.

This is an excellent use of this idiom! I love it! :-)
I'm working on calibrating my capture card this week, among other things. I can get pretty close (accurate 75% grey ~(191,191,191) and almost-accurate white ~(240,240,240)), but I'm still not entirely happy with it and I want to fiddle with it a bit more.
I don't have a full 10-bit workflow and I'm struggling with determining when it's best to drop to 8-bit.
Any tips, guys?
I'm thinking about dropping to 8-bit immediately after capturing, color-correction-be-damned.

Any sort of functioning image registration program is the stuff of my wet dreams.
poita has a functioning solution using Elastix and some CLisp code, but it takes ~4 minutes per frame pair.
We were going to spend some time figuring out how to parallelize it (across many machines), but we both got bogged-down with other things.
adywan: How did you deal with differences in distortion, etc.? Did you use an image registration program? If so, then which one?

I have been able to restore these shots to their original framing in glorious HD. Luckily i didn't have to use those low quality Bonus DVDs that were released in 2006, or any of the other various home video releases, to restore the framing.
How?!

yeah, but doesn't the GOUT version contain the crawl that's without the A New Hope title?
Yep, they replaced the 1981 crawl with the 1977 one. That's the only significant change.

Sports fans baffle me. Why are so many people, especially Phillies fans, so filled with hate and overly defensive? This isn't directed only at Warb--I see it on my facebook news feed all the time.
I just don't get it.
Is this, perhaps, the 21st century equivalent of "tribal mentality"?
Ha! Despite minor differences (in grain, cropping, etc.), the mystery remains! http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Legacy/post/531536/#TopicPost531536

I really love this movie as well as the one before it; much more than the LotR trilogy.
LOL! Gotta love Dwight! :-)
I also enjoy The Hobbit (the book) much more than any of the LotR books. The LotR story just doesn't appeal to me very much.

But yeah, the fact that the encode was finished over-night is pretty awesome :-)
Agreed!
