Yeah, sorry, the CAPS was a bit over the top. I wasn't really that mad, I just wanted to make the post extra visible. But it does have the effect of making it seem like you're shouting at the top of your lungs, doesn't it?
As long as you keep using the ENTER key correctly, I have no complaints.
Yeah, the poetry style of posting
Is annoying as hell to read.
I too do wish he stopped it,
It's causing my eyes to bleed.
Why anyone would post like that
I'm trying to understand.
It's making me a little mad,
But what would you recommend?
When what he says in his lore
May be crucial information,
I can't put him on ignore.
So after much contemplation,
I opted for serenity
And tolerate his oddity.
It's not as bad
as you're making it out
to be, but
I do find that it
infects
you like a virus.
However, no
virus is as bad as

Thanks, Russ. I like the 1995 Executor Box set the best. Can you post some other shots from it?

If an image is posted for comparison purposes, I will be happy to post up to 10 versions of the same image from my PAL VHS collection. For Star Wars, I have the 1982 release right through to the 1995 Executor box set as well as the ITV broadcast.
How about this image from PS78?

My views are wild and my knowledge patchy at best, but subjectively this is the closest official thing I've seen to the technicolor screening and PS78 online :

But I wonder if every official release has been accounted for on the colour front in non-us markets? E.g. Did anyone on this forum buy this tape and can feedback on it:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/160870649158?nma=true&si=hBSoh3CPS5hNBppHx%2BQsSSfV%2BHA%3D&rt=nc&_trksid=p4340.l2557&orig_cvip=true
Thanks for the excellent information, Frank!
Are any of the VHSs or LDs close?
Edit: I own the NTSC version of that VHS and it's in excellent shape.

Previews would definitely be a good idea to see how the colors "respond" to different types of monitors etc. People could also give their input on various things etc.
well there's plenty here,
and on vimeo..
i have another preview in mind.
not quite this kind though..

Oooohhh! I'm looking forward to that preview :-D
You should consider doing a teaser trailer, if you have the time; sounds like a fun mini-project.
I know it’s subjective, but which officially-released version of the OUT has the most accurate colors?
I downloaded raw captures #4 and #5 last night. #5 has three incomplete parts and #4 has two incomplete parts, but I was able to repair both with MultiPar, so... enjoy!
Posting to Usenet has been quite a learning experience for me.
I prefer watching movies on my 36" GE CRT TV :-D
It weighs 148lb., but it doesn't hurt my eyes like my 1080p LG LCD TV does.
OK, I fixed my seeding issue.
Also, it looks like I kept my MultiPar settings from my PS78 raw captures, so I'm sorry about the huge PAR-set. Should I upload two smaller PAR-sets tonight?
Edit: I definitely will.
OK, they're on Usenet (a.b.starwars) and MySpleen. Enjoy!
I just received the DVDs! I'm working on uploading them ASAP.
Any other suggestions?
I'll be uploading raw capture #3 tomorrow.
Edit: I'll be uploading raw capture #3 tonight. I spent last night uploading 7FN's stuff :-)
OK, raw capture #4 has been uploaded.

I can help seed (with my crappy, sporadic Comcast connection) if you tell me how to prepare the files.
It's fixed now :-)
Which torrent client are you using?
Asaki said:
It was covered, but I guess there were some issues there.
About 20 or so people (last I checked) managed to finish downloading it, though. WinRAR tried to tell me the archive was corrupt, but it looks like it all extracted okay, and I did a "force recheck" in uTorrent and everything looks good.
But now there are no other peers, so I guess someone's going to have to pick back up the torch @_@
Fixing this now :-D

Oh FFS....
Thanks for the update, rnranimal. I'll gladly help with my fiber-optic connection, but I need to have the thing to do it!
no problem, glad i could shed some light.
btw, looks like it's up on usenet for those who can go that route.
Yay for me! Does someone already have MySpleen covered?
I'll be uploading raw capture #4 today!

Maybe try MultiPar.
Thanks -- it worked!

Any news on when these will hit newsgroups? I promise I'll help seed on the spleen if not upload myself. I'm a great fan of your earlier work released in conjunction with ABC!
No news... yet. I still haven't received them! I've been waiting and checking my mailbox every day immediately after the postman leaves.
Shipping overseas (especially to the USA) can be a pain.

Amazing!!!
I've never heard Star Wars sound this good! Maybe it's my ears, but I haven't ever noticed the echo of Leia's voice in that scene.
You're the best. :-D
