I can't tell what was emphasized, can I get some italics as well? ;-)
Fixed.

I would normally agree with this, but I think it will create more confusion because everyone will be wondering why they have v3.0 of Star Wars, but v2.0 of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.
2.1/2.0/2.0 seems less confusing to me than 3.0/2.0/2.0.
Many are confused by the current 2.0/1.0/1.0.
Wait. Are there v2.0 of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi or are we still with v1.0?
See the emphasized text above.
FWIW, I'm interested in this set as well.
I would gladly do it, as I can track down the LDs, but finding a PAL LD player in the USA is nearly impossible and almost always expensive.
We have a few members here who own PAL LD players, so there's some hope that these will get preserved in the near future.
SilverWook: I think I remember you mentioning that you have a gas-laser LD player. Do you? If so, which model is it?

Anybody heard from msycamore lately? Two weeks is long time for him not to post around here.
I haven't heard from him and I agree that two weeks is a long time to not see a post from him.
I hope he's OK...

If Disney think that money is being left on the table, then they may actually do a release.
I agree. That was the reason I thought a new petition would make sense.
DeDuping would be difficult because different captures of the same frame won't be bit-for-bit identical.
LOL, georgec!
I'd totally watch that; no kidding!
I might be the only ROTJ-is-my-favorite guy here, however... -_-

Moved into a new apartment with a really cool roommate. Get along really well, have a ton in common, seems like a cool situation. Last night we were watching some TV and he stretched the image out of ratio to fit the screen... Ugh... That is going to be annoying.
Yuck. Yuck. Yuck!
There's a guy on LDDB who does this with LDs on his 16:9 display and frequently posts images of his setup.
You should ask him: Would you vertically stretch a letterboxed video on a CRT TV to fill the screen?
Wait, don't. I don't want to know the answer and I'm pretty sure you don't want to know it either!

Came here to post that.
Remember how awful an idea it was to have young Han Solo in ROTS?
Still an awful idea. Let's take away the mystery and allure of more OT characters.
I'll ruffle some feathers with this, but all I'm seeing from Disney is the same things we saw from Lucas. That is, shrinking the SW universe further and not coming up with anything original.
While many were saying, "Disney can't do worse than Lucas," I was quietly thinking, "Actually, they can."
I'm not writing them off completely, but it appears to me that Kennedy and Disney are just doing what Lucas probably dictated.
Yes, you're probably right.
With that being said, I was more interested in a young Han than a young Darth Vader prior to TPM and, after seeing the PT, I'm still more interested.
What I really don't want to see is a standalone movie about one of the PT-only characters. That would truly suck. Hard.
However, I do have to admit that I would enjoy a comedy movie starring Watto...

It's almost official that Han & Fett will be getting their own movies.
Wow, interesting!
I'm strangely excited, even with the crappy Fett back-story presented in AOTC.

This is exciting! Totally unrealistic, but I must admit that I can't help but have a tiny glimmer of hope that the missed grappling toss or the Biggs scenes are in there...
Assuming that it's a very early '77 print telecined in '79, then it might be a possibility.
With that being said, I still think those shots are false memories... ^_^
photodroid: Can you please try to determine if the tape has the mono sound mix?
The guide is here: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/russdawson/mono/
Thanks!

Thanks for the love. I'm not worried. I may be the only one interested, but I still think it'd be a good thing to do. I just don't know when :)
Need any voice actors?

I guess it really wasn't a big deal for them?? How much were blanks 25.00+??
Wow, that's really spot-on!
That particular VHS model (Magnavox AH9204) cost $24.95 per tape in September 1979 according to page #121 of: http://tx0.org/5ad

The Empire Strikes Back:
Teaser Trailer #2 [Vivaldi] (A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away)
Team_Negative1 did an amazing restoration of this trailer recently. I'd say that's the best source (sans watermark, of course).

I just learned about these transfers, and am very excited about hearing them. What would I be looking for on a.b.sw? What are the files listed as? I'm interested in the soundtrack and story albums.
Search for "7FN" on NZB.cc. They should be the first two results.
photodroid: E-mail sent.
Does it definitely still have Star Wars on it? The label also reads: "Battlestar Galactica 10 Jan 1980 SB"...
photodroid: Yes! I'm incredibly interested!!!
Are you hoping to have a transfer done or are you looking to sell it or...?

Yoda isn't human and I've met some people who have aged that quickly.
I know, but I was thinking that young Yoda might be best portrayed as something similar to Namekians from Dragon Ball Z.

This thread. Wow.
I know, right?
It seems almost like a thread that Father Skywalker would start. Hmmm...

I think it would be cool if Yoda was larger in his youth; appearing similar to the Namekians in Dragon Ball Z. The writer could write-in that his people naturally shrink with age.
This would allow him to fight with less... jumping. Also, it would illustrate that "size matters not" because the increase in wisdom (and oneness with the force) that comes with age would more than compensate for the decrease in height and brawn.
But he's only 20 years younger. That/s .02% of his lifespan between the PT and the OT. For a human, that'd be like aging about a year.
Ah, good point!
Greedo is definitely the strongest, but I hear Aunt Beru comes pretty close.

2.1 fits perfectly. It's tells a person downloading it that it is Harmy's second version revised - and even if in reality it is somewhat heavily modified from 2.0. This helps keep it in line with his 2nd take on ESB and ROTJ.
I would guess that 3.0 would be a 1080p version - perhaps a hybrid of the bluray and the Saving Star Wars project?
I agree that 2.1 is the least confusing.
