(art student, here!),

D-"The Republic has failed. The Jedi have failed. You must join me, Obi-wan, and together we will destroy the Sith!"

O-W- (pause) "What is your bidding?"

Dooku approaches hesitantly, with skeptical hope

O-W- "Shall I kneel at your feet, Master?"

Dooku's hope visually dissipates

O-W- (with increasing sarcasm) "I would, but... (looking up) ...at the moment I am quite unable to do so."

Dooku now has a look of outright malice

D- "You're a fool."

O-W- "No, Master. You may once have been a great Jedi Knight, worthy of following, but no longer. I am your failure, just as you've failed my Master before me. Your own vision has been clouded by the Dark Side. I will never join you, Dooku."

Obi-wan has scored a hit, and they both know it. Dooku turns to leave.

D- "It may be difficult to secure your release".

Awesome! More art people here :D nice to see them around.

I love the dialogue! As a first draft it stands...

Cant wait for more

No it's pretty much returned to it's original pre-blue tint palette which is what I want to see so I'm happy with it.

Alright, good.  I thought I seen it on youtube and it was gray, I'll go re-check.

Well that goes to V topic anyways, but i have to agree with you. The black and white thing on dagobah is a bit destructing for the young eyes. I liked the blue hue anyways.

It shouldn't be about how good Luke was guys, the battle is lame compared to every other battle in these movies

We should see more in space rather than a dragged out SB battle.  It should be harder for Lando to even get in the DS.   There is more to show in space and less to see on the SB.

Agreed,

What do you suggest then to cut from the SB shots? specific things. name them. suggest. contribute.

Is anyone going to add slash-burn-things to Jabba's guards in ROTJ, when Luke fights them on the barge?  After seeing what a saber does against flesh very well when Vader destroys the Separatists on Mustafar in ROTS, I think those effects should be added to ROTJ.  To see a burning sword hit the guards, and they just fall, is not very convincing.

right

If I may ask, what kinds of new shots are you doing that requires such massive models?

Lets see if i remember about props:

Ady needs: A new canyon Prop Set to replace the bad original composited one, during the chase with TIES.

A star destroyer (6ft?) or Only the bridge to replace the bad FX when the asteroid collides on it during the hologram scene.

A wampa arm/ model to make it more real ( i think).

A bespin shaft model to fix the curvature/ continuity problems.

A hangar prop of hoth to extend the depth and fix some bad/poor elements.

A Millenium falcon prop to replace several landed and fly bys poor shots.

A space slug mouth interior with pointy like stalagmites teeth to replace the old one.

? new rebel fleet props to replace the copy paste ones?

And my Thoughts about 3D adds.

Some poor shots with AT-ATs elements that cant stick on ground can be replaced with renders ( we saw examples with Vue)

A 3d cloud car fly by in one of the cloud city establishing shots to recreate the OT feel.

A 3d X wing for Luke's arrival to Bespin.

?3d animated rebel/imperial troops during the hoth battle running here and there ( like the you tube video)?

Millennium falcon's continuous flyby during Bespin approach (like in the menus and what Danves video mockup) with no brake to 2 shots.

Does the human eye pick up every single tiny little detail and texture on everything in our line of sight?

No.

Too much detail and all this extra stuff will make these fx shots look like busy fx shots that read as fake. Why? because sometimes it's also the things we don't see but the mind fills in for us that helps sell something as real.

Well maybe not, but it works subconsciously. You can make a loop background action as well or make every shot with unique approach.

If in a shot an FX is bad it will be more distracting than a "busy" FX shot as well.

Besides the action is choreographed with that way to move your eye to the spot they want. all the other elements are supporting the scene.

In ROTS the space battle during the duel is not distracting at all. You know that is out there.

IMO all that "extra" detail makes the scenes unique with full of life. yes you may never notice in ROTS the SDs are ready to deploy on a trade fed battle ship or how many farticles(lasers) are here and there, but all do their purpose.

What i admire of ady's work is that he added depth to yavin's battle. Call it extra stuff or distracting. i call it more life and dimension. thats the meaning :D

We all bothering with continuity shit and we know how a mistake or bad FX pops up. Better well a "busy" shot that all looks good rather one with a mistake in your face as well :)
