You might know that but this guy might can provide some real location photos for some of the sun direction problems during the hoth battle or can fill with originality the other shots.

Available sounds can do nicely.

If you notice some good variation ideas are from clone wars that have the clash sounds twisted and more energy like. Replacing the long swings with shorter and more bassy ones can do nicely. just never use the same effect in the same duel again. add a variation to each of it and play with them.

Its the final battle. After all this duel must have an epic character even from sound pov. The original has no sound variation at all. so dull so bland. Your version have the potential to be a masterpiece :)

Note the clashes (not the best for saber swing references)

The vader vs luke preview clip :)

The sounds seems to be like random sfx placed in the movie. It lacks the rythm and the music tones that every other duel has ( im not telling that anything about music in the duels here :P) . If you can manage to see the dueling sound effects like an orchestra you will be able to have results more coordinated from the "place and go" way of thinking ;)

Wait, so you're saying that adywan said that the 'Bounty Hunter's conversation doesn't actually occur in the same 'Bridge' area that we see in this shot below? -

I must have missed that, as I'd always thought of this scene as being set on the 'Bridge', due to the similar look of things! But that's great, as this makes perfect sense....because it explains the different-looking corridor layout that's seen behind the 'Bounty Hunters' in the shot below, which always used to throw me...

So that's another misconception that I previously had, that's been sorted out now. Thanks! :)

I guess I'll just think of this as being some kind of 'control' area that's near to the docking bay underneath the Executor...where all the 'Bounty Hunters' boarded, and where Vader and Piett went down to meet them.

I think that was his answer. No idea if its correct. You can notice too that behind several bounty hunters there are some windows that are covered where they was suppose to have space. The set is the same but probably they used it for different reasons.

The scene at the start showing main shot of the bridge, i noticed that either side of the main door is shown but not the roof of the door. This is shown in other parts of the movie. Will you be adding that in?

...and although we don't see the top of the set entranceway that Vader steps down from in the shot near the end of the movie...we do glimpse it briefly in the background of the 'Bounty Hunters' one below...

Actually Grythandril is right. The schematics shows clearly the intention of the filmakers and the low budget flipped shots of the bridges

I suggested ages ago ady erase/paint the bounty hunter shots where the plate is static with a more open area like we see in the establishing shot but i think i took the answer that the bounty hunter meeting wasnt supposed to be in the bridge. The cropped version works perfectly :)

Making this part wider eliminates any continuity error

The Gathering Storm

Pretty generic. Like the Coming storm title, it reminds more a terminator fanedit rather a spaceopera. Not to mention all the drama and the noir feeling that all these titles have, are changing the tone. I will reference the old good space adventure, Starchaser the legend of Orin. Pretty solid title and its focuced on the protagonist. plus we never see a storm. I like the word warps but it doesnt feel to the star wars style. As Phantom menace title failed dont fall into the same pit.

It is a period of civil unrest. The Galactic Republic, which has stood for over a thousand generations, is in decline. Corruption, greed and apathy have taken root. The seeds of evil are sown throughout the Galaxy.

The wicked Trade Federation has seized control of the Alderaan system with a blockade of deadly battleships. As the senate looks on, the supreme chancellor calls upon the Jedi, guardians of peace and justice in the Galaxy, to resolve the conflict.

Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn, overseeing young Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi's trials of knighthood, has been dispatched to liberate Alderaan from the tyranny of the Federation and restore freedom to the peaceful system....

Galaxy, Jedi, Alderaan, Federation, system, were used twice. I would like more variation and less specific names.

I like some words that give the ANH feel so its an up. I like to see Bingo's idea of having the shots of the cruiser escaping from the trade fed and the whole movie will be reordered.

Still looking for a title that I think works and is dramatic. I'm liking The Gathering Storm more than my previous iteration The Coming Storm. All suggestions happily accepted, no guarantees that I will take them though ;)

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

Since you are the almighty knitpicker and such a bad arse at spewing out negative comments on whats wrong with the movie, why don't you try to show us how things can be better by doing it yer self eh?!

Remember this is still a "fan edit" and Adywan learned how to do it all as he went along, I have to be honest and say I am rather impressed at how much he learned, he editet the movie with such grace that many that have found it ( me amongst them ) now use as a 1st choice instead when is comes to the Lucas or Adywan dvd.

Sure you might sit up there on your high and might chair and get all the "Aohs" and "Aahs" from your little click of followers when you point out what you deem wrong or flawd, sure you hand out all these shiny and too perfect and somewhat odd placed ( story wise ) pictures that not always seem to fit in with Adywans vision for the movie(s). perhaos you should try to put your pictures into motion and then try to show us how good things can be!?

But...who then will "Ooh" and "Aah" ? At times it can almost seam like you are envious at the attention Adywan is getting from this edit, so you have to grab some of this fame for your self, you know if you have such a negative feel about this project you can try to make your own edit and flog that on the web to get groupies.

Get a band together and start your own project, see how that feels when the work start to mount up, how much it costs of time and money and how it feels when you have several annoying star wars fanboys yapping at your every move... I bet it starts to get bloody annoying and very old..very fast.

Adywan has surrounded himself with ppl he trusts and he gets good and honest advise back from them, he posts info and updates on the web out of generosity and I think its awesome. Then the least one could do is to back him up on a positive note instead of bragging how about your own work and knitpick a 1 second frame to death...

You ain't supposed to go through the film frame by frame and just try as hard as you can to find flaws, thats just oddly wrong. o.0

Back off.

Im not trying to undermine ady's work or trying to be negative with his work. Otherwise i wouldnt bother trying to help/contribute of how he can make the edit better.

Its a fanedit yes and im judging it by its final result. I didnt spot these things via frame by frame ( i might got an expert eye because i work with frame frame) and my points were only for making things better.

I dont care if my "shinny, "over sharped" images are not following ady's "vision". Sure he inspired me a lot about his artistic decisions and how i can navigate through movies and edits so yes i can give credit to him but i stand alone.

Sure i can put my input on whatever shot i spot or whatever a problematic area or frame or pixel i chose to find and ady has the right to ignore it to take it or leave it. And i find more "awesome" making a shot more "perfect" with contributing on it rather have some "wows" and "aaahs" that indeed boosts ady's confidence and will, but will not fix some errors that might exist and will be still there, that id like to address them or fix them.

Ady might knew that publicity might get him trouble and whatever fanboyism can you imagine. He is still on the move so he can take it i assume.

Finally.. ady goes through the film frame by frame... why not i can do that when the editing/fx process is frame by frame? Sell the idea of a flawless motion requires frame frame spotting. I choose to see it both ways revealing movie and ady's mistakes when something is in your face.

@Bingo yes thats the gray part i was talking about. :)

Some mistakes that i have in mind are( iwill not mention continuity problems that appear to the movie only based what ady did):

 • Mostly the new backgrounds have no moving grain. It yells static image.
 • When luke enters his speeder to search the uncles when the fading starts, the sky mask is messed up.
 • When we see Luke with his saber in MF after the destruction of the death star the colors of the panels are not match with the next same shot. (appears to the SE too)
 • Most of the masks are very blurry sometimes causing some weird effects. Several examples are sky replacements and rotoscoping.
 • Even in the comparison images by adywan there is a shot with a missing rotoed part when a tie fighter explodes outside the MF gunner cockpit. You can see the gray explosion via the yellow explosion.
 • Maybe artistic liberation but R2's eye is cyan and not blue.
 • When the stabilizers are broke lose again, biggs yells to luke, when ben says use the force, let go,trust me R2 is again Black and white
 • Vader green button changes during the movie to blue and faded green
 • During the dune sea scenes it appears a weird green tint over the sand. Green remainings also can be located to deathstar trench sequences
 • When the MF enters the hangar the surrounding details are not match with the rest of the shots

Thats for now :)
