I just plowed through both reading an academic article and writing the 1500 word essay about it entirely in a day! That’s amazing!
I just plowed through both reading an academic article and writing the 1500 word essay about it entirely in a day! That’s amazing!
I feel completely incapable of getting my work done. Every time I so much as try to start I feel repelled by it and get a deep urge to do literally anything else.
Also, it gives you a taste of what it feels like to be in love, but now, it’s escapism? Which one is it, then?
Those aren’t contradictory.
is straight up lying and has no intent to help me.
Keep lying to yourself then. I did not tell any lies.
Also, if that’s how you view romance fiction, then it’s no wonder you’re having a hard time finding someone.
I don’t see it as a realistic model of what to expect, it’s just escapism.
Okay Willy Wonka.
Just to let everyone know, this is the same person who posts an incessant number of Bully Maguire memes in the worst edit ideas thread.
I think I posted a single video of that once. I did not post “an incessant number”. Certainly less times then you’ve posted about this one really specific trauma without elaborating upon it in any meaningful way. Saying it won’t make it go away, nor will it make people excuse anything you do because of it. If you’re actually open to dealing with it so you can move on with your life than by all means do so but you don’t seem open to that. You can’t live in the past, as much as you might want to.
So I think it’s only fair if I ask this question: How old are you now?
I asked you first, you answer first, then I’ll gladly answer. Besides, I’m asking in an attempt to help you. You’re asking in an attempt to belittle me.
You’re crying because you can’t get a date. I’m not the one who’s being a child here.
Keep projecting, kid.
If you’re looking for something more than that from a relationship, then good! I wish more people had that mindset when dating. But don’t assume that everyone else is thinking the same thing you are.
Fair enough, maybe others are more shallow than you and I.
My friend broke up with his girlfriend of several years a while back, was real down about it, but within a month or two was already talking up girls. He just got back from going to the other end of country with a new girl and it hasn’t even been 6 months since his breakup.
I find it odd that you think those two things don’t involve bragging to people when they both involve putting your significant other on a pedestal and feeding you unrealistic fantasies about love.
Putting people on a pedestal isn’t bragging about them really. I guess it’s bragging about someone else to yourself? It’s not really what I’d consider bragging, at any rate. It’s not about inflating your own ego.
When people were reading Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey, were they not bragging? If not, then explain Team Edward.
How is rooting for a particular ending the same as bragging? I guess you could argue they brag when their side wins? Regardless, the point of romance fiction is to get a taste of what it feels like to be in love, not to get a taste of the associated status. Or at least, that’s what I’d expect from romance fiction and all I’ve ever seen from it in fanfiction.
So many people on here complaining about how hard dating is while I’m here crying over my first crush, who died in a car accident when I was 13.
We heard you the first ten times. How old are you now?
The real problem that I see is that most of you wanna brag about having someone around, like you’ve won a prize or something.
I think you’re fooling yourself if you genuinely that’s why most people seek companionship. It certainly isn’t my reason. And then the rest of your paragraph seems to fly in the face of that first sentence, talking about “the one” and harlequin books which are absolutely not about bragging to people (or at least I would assume). Sending a really mixed message here.
Pre-orders are bad.
Dating is a nightmare.
I can deduce your circumstance from your change in profile pic and I can safely you’ve made it farther than I ever have.
That would be golden, and the fangirls would be all over it.
I was just saying a context where nobody questions the morality of slavery is possible.
On the topic of slavery, I remember seeing this French video which despite knowing the title I can no longer find (presumably deleted) where they suggested the CIS was a parallel to the CSA and that in this context the slaves were droids.

I can see how that could work.
On a related note, apparently the idea of slavery being immoral was completely unheard of in the ancient world, even among people who had been slaves themselves, so you could make the Separatists the ones against slavery. Might not work as well though.
You know how we were talking about making the Clone Wars about abolishing slavery? That doesn’t really work because the Republic are the ones using a literal slave army.
God, this movie just shoots itself in the foot every chance it gets.
That’s what makes it so fascinating.
I don’t think it needs to be explained how borderline Force god Darth Sidious knows this tidbit of information. He could probably read her mind.
If you like the idea of Marvel movies to TV you check out my Spider-Man thread.
What would be the thing that leads Anakin to turn him in in the end?
In Canon the term Bendu denotes people who are between light and dark, which honestly makes more sense imo. Bogan is just a word for the Dark Side, btw.
I can’t help but feeling like calling this edit “Untold” implies you’re gonna be revealing more information to the viewer than the canon cut, leaving me scratching my head at the removal of Rey’s parentage. You sure you don’t want a different subtitle?
I think the inciting incident in ROTS should be that Palpatine tells Anakin that he is Sidious.
I think this is a good idea. How do we implement it?
Whoops, sorry for the double post!
The Galactic civil war will be fought over the abolishment of slavery.
Now that you say it seems so obvious I’m surprised it hasn’t been suggested before (to my knowledge).
I’ve gone all in on the trilogy of trilogies aspect to the point that it’s genuinely my primary argument for the Sequels’ existence. I’m trying to lean into the poetry, as George would say.
I don’t condone incorporating animated projects into live-action ones willy-nilly. It can be done in small doses if handled carefully but otherwise it’s a continuity/immersion breaking collage.
When it comes to incorporating the Dark Times content into the main series, I’ve actually been thinking of a fairly interesting idea involving that for a while now: Have the Dark Times content be the new Episodes 4-6, with the OT now being Episodes 7-9.
Episode 4 would be Kenobi (edited into a movie), Episode 5 would be Solo, and Episode 6 would be Rogue One. Kenobi and Solo have been swapped chronologically, but I feel like the “trilogy” is more cohesive this way: Kenobi resolves plot threads left hanging by ROTS and establishes the new state of the galaxy, Solo shows someone trying to survive in this new galaxy and establishes organized resistance movements against the Empire, and Rogue One shows these resistance movements united as a whole and leads directly into ANH.
I feel like this reorganization would have two benefits: It would allow for a bit more of a transition between the radically different aesthetics of the prequels and OT, and it would allow for the cool “trilogy of trilogies” structure to be preserved while having ROTJ be the definitive ending.
At that point just ditch the episodic trilogy structure entirely. It’s basically vestigial for what you’re doing.
I’m using Victory Celebration from RotJ and that track really needs the iris to credits with standard fanfare so I think what I’ll do is I’ll make Rey’s scene on Tatooine a mid-credits scene. Then we fade to the quiet credits.
