Sluggo! Welcome back!
Sluggo! Welcome back!
I love how deep Bionicle lore was. Nowadays, Lego has figured out and refined a formula that works for them for original story-driven themes (Ninjago, Chima, Nexo Knights), but it will reach the same creative peak. That said, Bionicle’s complex lore was ultimately its undoing. I guess this sort of stuff is best left to other companies, rather than the toy manufacturers themselves. After all, Star Wars, Marvel, and DC Lego is doing great.
I loved lego, also has anyone seen Lego Atlantis (2010)
I saw it back in the day. General rule is any Lego animation that isn’t one of the Lego Movies is crap. Most of the jokes sound like they’re aiming for a demographic of 4-year-olds. Even as a kid I felt looked down on. That said, they occasionally have some good jokes, like Windu Wash, or the tuba over the sarlacc pit. The Padawan Menace was decent. I guess so was Atlantis.
Having seen Solo once:
Empire Strikes Back
A New Hope
Rogue One
Revenge of the Sith
Return of the Jedi
The Last Jedi
The Force Awakens
Solo
Attack of the Clone
The Phantom Menace
Glad to see someone here can refer to the films by their full titles.
I don’t know why people puts the force awakens up on such a high pedestal. Name me one damn thing in it that’s actually original?
Uh, well there’s Rey’s spee- oh wait, no, if you put it on its side, its just Luke’s. Wow, it amazes me how far they went to avoid having anything remotely original in that film. That said, Finn, Kylo, Poe, and Phasma are all new characters not based on any old ones, although Phasma does admittedly end up in the same category as Boba Fett, and the Prequel villains.
I’d say ANH is and always will be the definitive Star Warsiest Star Wars that ever Star Warsed, probably because it came first, leading everything else to be informed by it. However, I will say that RotS is undoubtedly my favorite.
You contradict yourself. ROTS is nothing like SW.
How is that a contradiction? I said it was my favorite, not the Star Warsiest.
While it might sound doubtful to some, maybe he really was telling the truth when he said he was going to meet Jabba.
Maul is on Naboo killing Jedi, whilst the Queen is trying to save Naboo. The two scenes compliment eachother, and shows us how darkness is growing and Naboo falling just whilst she is speaking of it.
I guess the disconnect comes from the fact that they’re discussing the invasion, not the Sith. If you had footage of the TF doing bad things, then I could understand.
One must consider the effect of that change on AOTC, introducing the Lars on Tatooine, Shmi’s death at the hands of the Sandpeople, etc.
After TPM, the Jedi went back and freed Shmi. She eventually settled down with Craig Lars on Tatooine.
No, they’d all be separate episodes, just ordered in a way that alternates between them at certain points. You could go Solo prologue > Rogue One prologue > Solo > Rogue One.
Interestingly, the opening scenes of both Rogue One and Solo take place the same year.
What exactly was the point of Darth Maul being in the film? Are they building him up as the villain for future “standalones”.
If the problem is the printer like you seem to be saying at first, I don’t see how we can be of any help. You just have to get a professional quality printer/paper.
i don’t know. i guess some of the stuff most of you find weird don’t bother me at all - like the cgi - which makes me not dislike them, and be open to like them.
anyway, i don’t really get a star warsy feeling from tpm. i do get it from aotc though: because of how slow it is, it makes me comfortable. it’s a good feeling. i feel at home. i enjoy geonosis and the “something’s about to happen” feel. and i watched aotc a heck of a lot of times, so i associated this feeling with star wars. it’s the same feel esb gives me, but esb does everything 1000x better therefore i get an even better experience out of that one.
I’d say TPM feels the most Star Warsy of the three.
rots just feels like THE star wars to me. like, the open war scenes excite me. i don’t mind the cgi, so that’s fine. i enjoy palpatine taking over. it excites me. not sure how else to describe it - it just resonates well with me.
I’d say ANH is and always will be the definitive Star Warsiest Star Wars that ever Star Warsed, probably because it came first, leading everything else to be informed by it. However, I will say that RotS is undoubtedly my favorite.
You are always welcome to PM a mod and ask - or ask in this thread:-
Why was this user banned? thread
or look through the following thread to see if the mods have already mentioned as to whether a ban is permanent or not:-
It is an intriguing idea to possibly have a ‘temp-ban’ and a ‘perma-ban’ icon…
I was thinking more changing the color of the overlay for temp-bans.
Idk how often people are permabanned, so maybe it’d be redundant, but I often see a familiar user who’s been banned and wonder if it’s temporary or not.
I’m guessing by this point someone has already brought up Professor Farnsworth.
You should remove the clapping at the end.
I wish they’d kept the old logo. Same goes for Big Finish. I mean, I like the new logo, sure, but the old logo is simply a perfection of logo design. Seriously, there’s no way you can top the early 70s/96 logo.
Well by the marketing stage, I’m sure they knew his role, and they were just trying to deceive us (which I think was clever).
I suspect it’s been said before, but I can’t understate how great of username Mark’s Down On Your Syntax is.
I met John Hurt in the school hallway. He was standing amongst other people, so I asked for and obtained an autograph on a post-it note. He told me his full name was Sir John William Hurt. We kept talking as we headed outside. In the stairway, he asked me what I call him, and I said Sir John William Hurt (although IRL, his name is Sir John Vincent Hurt, but I didn’t know that at the time). He said just John Hurt was okay, but I insisted, stating that I called him that because I looked up to him. We separated. I think he continued downstairs while I headed out the door.
In the parking lot, there was a sign saying no buses June 16. I started panicking, whining to everyone else there about how I had no way of getting home. Then I somehow got to taking turns trying to draw something in a Hyrule Historia with
a few people. They were trying to show me how to do it right, but I was only getting worse. Someone passing by closed the book wrong, folding up the page. I hastily reopened it and made my way to the page to fix it. Someone tried to sit down beside me and I accidentally discouraged them, so when their friend tried to sit there I encouraged them to make up for it. Meanwhile, my friends grew tired of trying to instruct me in drawing, as I desperately tried to keep their attention.
Now I was in a car with some others. I needed a ride home so I got one. Since they didn’t want to go out of their way, I told them to drop me off near my grandparents’ house. As we got to an intersection I asked if we were turning right. They didn’t answer, so I told them to drop me off here. They didn’t, and continued onto the highway. I asked if they were turning around and they said no. I asked to be dropped off by the highway. I said I had told them to drop me off earlier, and that we were now (somehow) just as far from my destination as when we started.
They pulled over and we decided to have them U-turn onto the railway tracks to bring me closer to my destination. I knew it was illegal, but for some reason there was a lady acting as a traffic cop to tell us when the train was coming. She was located beside the tracks at a point where they temporarily swerve away. We passed in front of her where there were no tracks, as she didn’t warn us of any oncoming trains.
We continued along the tracks, which were once more in a straight line, though we were zigzagging to avoid speed bumps. The driver didn’t want to hit them, insisting that train speed bumps are too intense for cars. I ignored him and (somehow) steered us over a few. We approached the turn into my grandparents’ neighborhood when suddenly a massive car (perhaps a Hummer) appear from around the bend going the opposite direction. We swerved left and I jumped out of the car. I climbed onto the leaf tunnel that covered the road and tried to jump through it, but it had grating that stopped me. Hence I climbed down directly onto the road (something which now strikes me as remarkably dangerous) and ran across the bend.
There was a tiny blue car with a rounded pickup-style trunk instead of backseats, though it only had room for one person. I knew they were somehow waiting for the driver of the hummer to jump in and make a getaway. For some reason, I hopped in, and ducked with my hands on my head, hoping they would notice me and drive off without noticing I wasn’t their collaborator. They started driving off, but quickly turned around. I realised they had noticed I was someone else and quickly got out and ran. I figured I was close enough to my destination to walk. By now aware this was a dream, I thought of how much more adrenaline pumping action could of taken place, as I tried to get out of the minicar. I would probably have to wait for them to stop at a traffic light.
Yeah, I don’t think ROTS is “generally considered ‘bad’” in the sense that something like Freddy Got Fingered is considered bad.
Yeah that’s what I meant when I said I didn’t know if the consensus is that it’s bad or just not good. A better word for the latter would be mediocre.
And cause Disney isn’t even close to pushing a propaganda. Correction, they only act like they stand for diverse casting.
I think what it is is that they pretend to be diverse by having a diverse cast, but behind the scenes it’s all white men.
No, look at my other posts clarifying what I said. My point is that a truly diverse and bold move would be having a person of color as a lead in one of the movies, which they have failed to do in addition to still only hiring white men as directors.
So yes, my point does apply to both casting and the choice of people behind the camera.
Oh I saw them. I was just putting in my two cents.
I don’t if most would consider it bad (as opposed to just not good), but I love Revenge of the Sith.
I’m also of the opinion that the Harry Potter films got worse as they went on, with the Columbus films being fantastic while the Yates films are barely watchable.
I enjoy all three Jurassic Park films, but hated Jurassic World.
I genuinely don’t see anything wrong with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Seriously, what is it about this film that people don’t like?
And since someone mentioned a TV episode, I was watching the Doctor Who story The Celestial Toymaker recently, and thought it was much better than people give it credit for. It may not be the masterpiece people expected when it was missing, but it’s still pretty good.
There’s only one episode of TCT in existence so it’s hard to judge that story as a whole.
Recons are a thing, you know.
