“You are an idiot. Take your current age and subtract ten years. Were you smart back then? No. You were an idiot. Fact is, you’re an idiot today, but it will take you ten more years to realize it.”

Ten years? It barely takes five.

Unproduced Screenplays: ones you've read or plan to read
Time

About two years ago, I read the first draft of the script for the Super Mario Bros movie, and, while nothing blowing, it was pretty good. It stays true to the games, and makes for a fun romp. One problem it shares with the final product, however is focusing on Luigi instead of Mario. This isn’t Super Luigi Bros! Mario should’ve been the one who longs for adventure and Luigi the one who just wants to go home and pay their debt towards the mafia (yup, that’s in there), not the other way around.

A script I’ve been meaning to read is Chris Columbus’s Indiana Jones III. The Last Crusade has always been my least favorite, in large part due to its descriptiveness (way too similar to the first film). I’m interested in this unrelated adventure that features the monkey king himself, Son Wukong. While it’s true he didn’t write them, Columbus did direct my two favorite Harry Potter films, not to mention Home Alone.

I haven’t sat down and watched a solid two hour block of shows in a long time. I like those first three shows a lot but all through Netflix. I’ve never seen an episode of Community.

Oh man, do yourself a favor and check out Community. It’s on Hulu currently.

The first three seasons are gold, season 4 (when the showrunner got fired) is generally considered poor but isn’t that awful, and seasons 5 and 6 (when the showrunner was rehired and then when the show moved from NBC to Yahoo Screen) are divisive for some, but I liked them a lot.

How’d that happen? Why was he fired, then rehired?

My all-time favorite show is The Prisoner. SciFi Channel showed it Sunday nights in their early days on the air. I’d never seen anything like it and was hooked instantly. They also used to do a marathon during a certain holiday (I can’t remember which one) and I looked forward to it all year.

Big Finish has done audios for The Prisoner, btw. You might wanna check those out.

My favourite show as a kid was Ben 10, but I watched an episode not long back and found I didn’t actually enjoy it very much, a sad realisation.

I rewatched it with my brother many years ago, and I still loved it. My brother, meanwhile, ditched me after Alien Force. Honestly, it’s kinda remarkable he stuck around that long. Anyway, I tend to prefer shows aimed at kids anyway, so my still enjoying it makes sense. I didn’t make it through Omniverse, and wished I had stopped after the sense of closure from the finale of Ultimate Alien. Omniverse was just too silly, or dare I say flat-out childish to my liking.

THE CHOSEN ONE: A STAR WARS STORY (V2 in development) (Released)

I’d suggest not bothering to keep it “chronological,” if it’s going to be a spinoff. Even moreso than numerical prequels, I would imagine it would be understood that the audience is already familiar with what came before.

And, just because I’d like to see it as part of a finished 3-in-1 edit, I’d advocate for Octorox’s opening framework: fade in with Lucasfilm logo, though perhaps no 20th Century Fox fanfare given your motif, and on the frame at which the opening STAR WARS logo would be, cut to the establishing shot of the ending TPM duel which originally followed Padme and company ascending via window. This duel would serve as a way to intercut bits and pieces of Anakin’s story so far. Works without a crawl.

He never finished his 3-in-1 edit, but I really like his opening.

Doesn’t every 3-in-1 edit start with that duel?

Why is that ironic?

Irony (one definition): “a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects

The old continuity made an effort to not kill any of the original main-characters, except for Chewie. And now the new series has pretty much done the complete opposite.

Not so much “made an effort” as “explicitly told by George Lucas”.
