As always, Glenn Greenwald articles are a grand-slam home run:

As always, Glenn Greenwald articles are a grand-slam home run:
R2 looks like shit for almost the entirety of his screentime in that film.
R2 looks like shit for the entirety of both AotC and RotS. Heck, even the physical prop in TPM looked wonky as for some reason they decided to make his dome matte instead of glossy and reflective.
The fact R2 is even in that movie (not film) is shit.
Seriously, fuck those movies.
It’s simply a matter of time … and of timing.
I just can’t wait for the big 75th Anniversary surprise announcement in 2052!!!
You’re joking, but some of the people in this thread are serious about that. The 50th and 75th anniversary releases, I mean.
Trump is a buffoon. A scammer. A con-artist. A hatemonger. A bigot. A fraud. A liar. An idiot. A moron. He is all of those things, and a lot more.
But he hasn’t killed anyone, so don’t discredit yourself by making outrageous comparisons that are pure nonsense.
I don’t know about accuracy, but it keeps looking better. The increased light reflection off the walls is starting to make them look colder and more metallic. One would assume that’s the look they were going for.
Geopolitics change. The U.S. wants Japan to re-militarize now.
Abe and his party are pretty ugly war mongers too. I much prefer peaceful, pacifist Japan.
I think the updates are looking better. The technicolor prints have a known green shift, right? I can’t imagine that Lucas and Taylor would have made that artistic choice.
Anyway, I’d be really interested to hear any comments or read any articles about any of the principals discussing the subject.
North Korea isn’t going to launch an ICBM at anyone. We can stop the silly talk.
They want ICBMs as a deterrent against invasion. The U.S. got Iraq and Libya to give up their nuclear weapons programs, and as soon as they did, Saddam and Ghadafi were overthrown by Allied forces and quickly executed.
Another example of how bad foreign policy mistakes can continue to domino for years and years to come.
Webster’s defines “poignant” as: a particularly keen expression of loss or regret.
Webster’s defines “keen” as: sharp; insightful.
Like any other human being, Trump will sometimes do the right thing. But he has never said anything poignant in his life. I’m going to pull a quote from the article above:
When asked if the chemical weapons attack on Khan Sheikhun had crossed a red line, Trump said: “It crossed a lot of lines for me. When you kill innocent children, innocent babies, babies, little babies, with a chemical gas that is so lethal – people were shocked to hear what gas it was. That crosses many, many lines, beyond a red line, many, many lines.”
Of course, Trump is expressing the right emotions here. But even when he is saying the right thing, he is still the consummate bullshit artist. It’s the same used-car salesman speak that has become his trademark. Just repeating the same words over and over again. He doesn’t use complete sentences or organize his thoughts. He never makes an argument in an attempt to win people over. He simply reacts instinctively to very base emotions, and then his mouth moves.
Trump said some poignant stuff
This has literally never happened.
Well, I’m not so sure it would be all that secret. U.S. foreign policy in the middle east is such a cluster****.
Does anyone else think there will be some sort of a secret strike on Syria eventually? It might help Trump’s image in the short term, (and distract from all the Russia stuff) especially if it takes that little Hitler mustached bastard Assad out.
Secret strike? You realize the U.S. military has been training, funding, and arming Syrians to kill other Syrians for many years now. Unless that’s the secret you were referring to.
I’m just glad I can be yet another user you cry about all the time, MFM.
Your age limit is too low.
I’m in my 30s. I think I’ll pass on the 58 year old women. She does look fantastic for her age though.
This is the problem, you expect everybody to stop voicing their irritation when you refuse to stop doing what irritates everybody. Not only that, but every single one of the comments that you’re mad about are in response to your posts. Nobody brings up your victim complex unless you play the victim.
I just want to point out that your posts are almost unanimously ****, but nobody points it out probably because nobody cares.
Jetrell, what that means is these guys must like you more than you think. They certainly do spend a lot of time thinking about you.
My feelings are hurt, pal.
Jetrell, you just need some thicker skin man. Look how soft your agitators are. The little emperors have no clothes. If you would just stand up to them, you’d get along just fine.
Looks like Senator Merkley is doing an honest-to-God filibuster, a talking one. I can’t remember the last time that’s actually happened, although I recall Senator Paul once talked a lot and called it a filibuster, even though it really was just talking a lot.
They are going to use the nuclear option, and it will wind up happening on legislation during this term too. The filibuster is a good way to force moderate legislation and judicial appointments, but I doubt there is any real value in mandating its existence, as gridlock isn’t good for anyone either.
Probably just need to shrug and say it was good while it lasted.
TV’s Frink said:
I said nothing in the Drugs thread about being pro-Drugs. In fact I said I’d never so much as smoked a cigarette.
I never said you did. You’ll have to go back and read again.
Your friend created a thread advocating drug use, on a Star Wars forum, that you know, might not be a good idea for this place. I know I wouldn’t want my kids coming on here to read about Star Wars, and then stumbling into a thread where a few morons are telling people to use drugs.
Then either because a few addicts got offended and went off on me, and you sensed an opportunity to bandwagon and advance your petty grudge, or possibly because the OP was your friend and you felt the need to defend him, or a combination of both, you decided to start on me again. When I posted images of passed out drug users neglecting their children, your response was to tell me to GTFO.
Now, that’s why I responded to you about your tone-deaf hypocrisy and asked you to move our discussion to a more appropriate thread. The drug epidemic in this country is most certainly a political issue. This is not the anti-Trump thread, or get-all-the-Russians thread, no matter who much you think it should be. There are other day-to-day political issues in this country, and discussion of the drug epidemic, relevant laws and federal budget allotment, task forces, and etc. all belong in this thread.
My comment towards you about rich, privileged, LA and NYC liberal drug use, being a far different life than the life of poor drug users in Ohio, West Virginia, or Tennessee, was not an accusation at you. It was commentary on the topic. That liberal daughter smoking weed with her boyfriend at the university, that rich hedge fund scion throwing $20,000 cocaine parties, the celebrity blowing millions of dollars shooting up heroine in his NYC apartment…that’s a much different lifestyle than the one lead by poor drug addicts in the middle of the country. The ones who cannot afford their habit, and quickly resort to prostitution, theft, suicide, and murder.
I find it appalling and wanted to call you out for your appalling hypocrisy, since you pretend to carry on the good fight against the bad guys in here, but when you have a chance to take a stand on an issue, you are more interested in fighting people you don’t like.
Oh, it’s not?

So you spam the politics thread with dozens of nonsense propaganda articles a day, for what reason? You want to make the world a better place? You want to direct your anti-Trump hatred at whom exactly? You want to feel important?
But then on one of the biggest political issues of the day, you throw that faux altruism out the window, to score some points with the ratpack for what, a petty grudge?
Be a man for once in your life, Frink.
Carrying a conversation over here from the admirable drug advocacy thread.
I’d just like to point how tone deaf Frink is on one of the most important social topics of the day, despite his neverending propaganda here.
Keep fighting the good fight, Frink!
No, I didn’t call him anything. We can take this to the politics thread, but if you live in a liberal enclave, which I’m sure Frink does, the local drug use is going to be a lot different than the drug use going on in places like Ohio, West Virginia, Tennessee, etc.
Not that he probably cares about most of those places, anyway.
The quickest way to rile someone up is to criticize their drug use. Even the peaceful pot heads would watch the world burn if you would just sell them a few ounces at a good deal.
Meanwhile, the drug crisis in this country continues. People like Frink probably don’t pay attention to it, because the life of a rich drug addict in LA or NY is very different from the life of a poor drug addict in middle U.S.A.
Why would that get this place “shut down”? Have you ever heard of the First Amendment?
You might want to look up “incitement of imminent lawless action”.
I think he just can’t help himself.
Yeah, I know. I don’t in Off Topic but for some reason I did in General Star Wars.
Who can’t help themselves? 😄
