Come on guys play nice...I remember my first post on here and it was asking about Jedi.

I'd hate to think we'd scare off people who may have something valuable to offer in the way of a fresh perspective because they hadn't got fully to grips with where everything was or hadn't read all seventeen and a halfish thousand posts on a seven hundredish page thread.

I feel your pain, Bingowings, but at the same time...there is a "search" function. If I were a n00b to this colossal thread and I had a question that might possibly have already been raised and dealt with, I would

1.) Read the first post very carefully, then if that didn't provide an immediate answer,

2.) Do a quick thread search

That alone would eliminate 95% of the repeat questions that tend to pop up. Granted, ripping a n00b's throat out simply for raising an innocuous question is inexcusable. At the same time, it does get a little irritating when the same questions are raised over and over and over again...

Oh, and, welcome to you Newcomers. I hope you enjoy your time here, and that you take me advice and become acquainted with the "search" funciton. :)

A kewl idea, to be sure, but as brash noted, hardly kewl enough to risk bringing down the wrath of Lucasfilm and/or 20th Century Fox merely for the sake of having a nifty intro logo. Fanediting is already a legal grey area, and messing with the original financing studio's logo might be viewed by some as a bridge too far.

It doesn't really need a solution. Vader says to bring his shuttle, then we see him on his flagship. Anyone with half a brain can figure out that he flew to Executor in his shuttle.

If this kind of stuff really needs to be explained to the audience, then maybe Adywan had better add Ric Olie into the film...

well, yea it is common sense, but the audience has to be treated like they're brain dead. i think it just makes a clearer transition is all.

See, this is just the sort of thing that pisses me off when it comes to the prequels, and altogether too many other movies these days as well. Pandering to the lowest common denominator is never a good idea. It was that kind of idiocy that got us fart and poop jokes in TPM, as well as waaaaay too much exposition throughout the PT.

Bottom line: if someone is too bloody stupid to figure out that Vader must have taken a shuttle to his flagship after requesting that his shuttle be brought to him on Cloud City, then perhaps that individual should try watching Barnie tapes instead of plot-driven, feature-length movies. Intentionally treating your audience as though they're braindead (which you seem to support as a "clearer" movie-making technique) will only ensure that your movie sucks, and everybody hates it.

I have a life, which is why I don't typically post massive walls of text arguing with people on the internet. Look, I have nothing against you personally. In fact, I usually agree with your opinions vis-a-vis the PT, and I gave you the benefit of the doubt for a very long time. When you posted your face comparison thread, I found it a little odd, but rather than jumping on the "Huh?" bandwagon, I decided instead to just steer clear. Why bother attacking someone on an internet message board? But that being said, I do find it a little irritating when I'm trying to follow and thread, and suddenly - BAM! - half my browser window is submerged in some stupid argument about something terribly pedantic that becomes impossible to even follow after the third or fourth post. Add the constant "misunderstandings" and hurt feelings, and it gets a little more than annoying.

So if you think I'm following you around sniping at you, then maybe you have misunderstood someone else for a shocking and unforeseeable change. Like I said, I have nothing against you personally. I just click "first unread post" on whichever threads I'm currently following whenever I visit the board. If I have something to contribute, I do so. If not, oh well. But when I see the entire thread derailed in this fashion, I feel compelled to add a sarcastic remark expressing my frustration over said derailment. If it seems like I'm sniping at you, it's probably because every time I visit this thread, you've pointlessly derailed it and bogged it down with argumentative nonsense.

You may see message boards such as this one as a place to flex your digital muscles and have a good quarrel with the idiots who don't see eye to eye with you, but some of us see it as a place for light, entertaining, and civil discussion about the series we all love. And when far more heat is generated than light, it's just annoying and obnoxious. Again, nothing against you personally; just frustration with thread derailment that is both uninteresting and ponderous.
