I know this is a thread about official posters, but here's one I've made, a fake one for a hypothetical Episode episode VII:

 

I want in on some of this action. This all sounds especially promising. If Return of the Jedi could be polished like this into a definitively better version, the trilogy would finally be completely solid.

Sounds very good. But I'm a little worried then that AotC might lose some key scenes then. Though I understand it is necessary to enforce menace, it being as flimsy as it is. How do you propose to rearrange AotC with this in mind?

Perhaps this would be too radical, but maybe you could consider making this into a duology? We've all felt at one point or another that it would be wiser to simply take the good bits we have, and discard the dead weight so we can at least make one or two good movies. What if you split the AotC up to enhance the other two?

Although I do not know if replacing taking yoda's place is best for him, I completely laud any increased screen time for Dooku, a much better potential for a villain than Grievance.

I would say that it is potentially something usable, but my thought is, as with any idea for ST edit ideas: How much does it add?

This is simply a way to remove Yoda from the main story for mostly just one film (phantom menace) and that to me doesn't change the quality of the ST much at all. For me I wouldn't want to spend my time on it when more pressing matters are present.

After opening text, we pan down to Darth Vaders Super Stardestroyer near the uncompleted Death Star

Cut to Darth Vader in his mediation chamber talking to Luke telepathically through the force urging him to join him on the darkside.

cut to the deleted scene of Luke in the cave working on his new light saber. Edit the exterior of the cave to resemble Dagobah. Luke shakes the voice in his head and continues working and then igniting his saber.

Cut back to the Super Stardestroyer and we see Vader's shuttle leave for the Death Star (why was he leaving from a standard Stardestroyer originally?) continue to the original opening scene with Vader and Jerrod.

After that, cut to Yoda's hut on Dagobah for Yoda's death scene. After Luke says "So I am a Jedi." Cut Yoda's line about having to face Vader again and just cut to him saying "When gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be." This way we get the idea that Luke has continued and now finished his training with Yoda. Yoda dies, the conversation with Obi-Wan is had and then cut to the Emperors arrival on the Death Star. That scene plays out like normal and then cut to the droids on Tattooine and continue from there.

This would give the beginning of the film a more menacing tone with Vader still haunting Luke and more of a build up to the action at Jabba's palace. Agree? Disagree?

Agreed. Best idea for Return I have heard of yet. Besides removing the ewoks.

Does anyone else fancy Topher Gracing the sequel trilogy as much as I do? That is, a lot?

I think we'd have a much better time trying to take the best parts of three movies and putting them in one (possibly quite long) movie, rather than trying to fix all three. We could focus completely on anakin's journey to being darth vader on top of a backdrop that is the seperatist war known as the clone wars.

When it comes to changing Sifo Diyas to qui gon I don't think that would add anything to the movies. The clones are only there as the tools for sidious to create the empire and take down the jedi, how would adding qui gon into that improve it?

How about this: You first show an establishing shot of coruscant, then, the leaders of the republic state that the republic (which we all know from the OT) is in danger, and negotiations must take place. A very nice hard cut (like the one you already had) can then show the ship en route to have exactly those negotiations.

Basically what you already had without the shot before the talks.

An idea I might've used personally in a now-imaginary 3 movies in 1 cut, adding on top of that a removal of all gungans and sidious in the phantom menace, all battle droid dialogue, the droid factory scenes, most of young Anakin's dialogue, the useless exposition in tpm, Anakin's space escapades, a greatly cut RoT final battle, and an ending that stops at the darth vader reveal, with him center screen.
