Indiana Jones 4

No, the knight said that the price for immortality was that you had to stay within the boundaries of the seal (which would suck), so no, he wouldn't live forever, because he went beyond the seal. However, we do know that Indy will still not die in this film, as he was shown to be 93 in the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles.

Let's examine the situation, had he told Luke the truth:

Obi-Wan: Luke, just before you were born, your father and I had a large battle on a lava planet. I chopped off both of his legs and one of his arms, leaving only his mechanical arm. He then caught on fire and I stood watching him burn. I decided to leave and left him burning to death in extreme pain on the side of the lava river. But, before I left, I picked up his lightsaber. (Hands Luke the lightsaber)

(Luke looks at Obi-Wan with large eyes.)

Obi-Wan: SO... um, anyway, I thought I might give it to you. By the way Luke, he also wiped out an entire village of women and children jawas and used it to destroy all of the jedi in the jedi temple, including all of the kids, which he stabed through the stomach. So... what do you say?

Luke: ....YOU SON OF A BITCH! VADER DIDN'T KILL MY FATHER, YOU DID OBI-WAN, YOU ASSHOLE! MY UNCLE WAS RIGHT, YOU ARE JUST SOME CRAZY OLD MAN! I'M GOING BACK TO MY UNCLE'S FARM!

Obi-Wan: But, you are our only hope! You must do what you feel is right! You must learn the ways of the force!

Luke: DAMN YOUR FORCE! (Ignites Anakin's lightsaber, and stabs Obi-Wan through the stomach, before slicing him in half.)

(Luke leaves Obi-Wan's, and Vader takes over the galaxy. Luke still eventually meets Leia, who he marries and they have inbred kids together.)

It's not exactly a hack-job. I watched it recently and apart from Jar-Jar and the poop-jokes, I actually enjoyed it. It's a decent piece of fun escapism and that's what Star Wars is all about. Besides, the original title is probably the best thing about it! But if you're looking for an alternative, I'd suggest "Episode I: Duel of The Fates" myself.

That was my point. Opinions on the film aside, the name itself is actually quite catchy and representative of the subject matter, without sounding overly cheasy or without giving away too much about the plot.

EU books: A funny Lucas contradiction

Well, sometimes it is nice to attempt to apply logic to the SW universe and see what we get. You should read Dr. Curtis Saxton's scientific paper that attempts to explain, through a VERY deatailed analysis, why an Endor holocaust would have occured. He explains that, due to the physical properties of the second Death Star and the fact that it was destroyed so close to a moon like Endor, that the fragments from it would have wiped out the ewoks and made the planet unihabitable.

By the way, I know you guys are going for titling this Star Wars. Although I understand your reasoning for it, I don't think that it makes a whole lot of sense when we are purposefully making this Pt. 1 of a saga. It's almost as if trying to fool people into thinking it was the first one to come out, and then all the sequels came after it. I dont know.........i'm a fan of Star wars episode one: The Chosen One. It's simple and entirely effective.

I agree. No way should we call any of them that. It would make it seems as if all of the other films were simply afterthoughts, and were sequels in the usual use of the word.

Blade Runner HDTV (Released)

It probably was. But, when viewing the DVD on a computer, the image is not a complete rectangle across the screen as every other widescreen film I've seen. Maybe it was due to the formatting on the DVD, but when viewed on a computer the image appears as if it is cut off at about an inch from each side of the screen. (See the DVD screenshots in the first few posts in this thread.)
