Look what's coming to DVD...
Time
It's a sad day when the studios decide to release something so horrid as The Donny and Marie Show. And that sad day is coming. As seen at this link, someone has decided that the complete series of that show ill be released. I am announcing this because a certain episode of this show contained a incredibly cheasy Star Wars parody with C3PO, R2D2, Kris Kristofferson as Han Solo, etc. So, forget the fan preservations from Rarities 1, it's sadly coming to DVD.

Now if only the holiday special could be released...

"You don't know the power of the dark side! I must obey my master"

No offense guys, but what "should" have been in the movie is what Lucas wanted in the movie, since he created the films and he owns them. If he had listened to what the fans want, then he would be the studios. I mean, he spent over 10 years of his life devoted to them. I think he knew exaqctly what he wanted and what he needed in order to tell the story he wanted to tell.

Lucas Did Not Think about It
Time
I don't think he has ever completely reallized how big of an impact the Star Wars OT has had on the world. After all he has always considered it strange that people actually liked them in the first place. Apparently, he doesn't care about that particular impact that will have on history. He cares about what he intended people to see. And in a way, he has that right, since he's the one who created and owns them. To Lucas, I don't think he's interested in the impact his original films left. I do, however, belive he's interested in showing future generations what he intended, and not a rough draft of what he intended. He considers that his legacy, not his "rough draft films." I suppose if he doesn't release to OOT, then historians will have to look at a list of changes he made in order to reallize what the films originally were.
