The Force works in mysterious ways.
The Force works in mysterious ways.
Cool! I’d be interested in seeing the rest.
The marketing campaign for the GOUT is the only reason why LFL spliced the 1977 crawl into the laserdisc cut of ANH. Because the ad copy promised we’d be able to watch the original 1977 title without the “A New Hope” bit.
They say the devil never lies.
Harmy is a freaking hero.
The EU was made non canon.
But you can still read it.
Ok, stupid but genuine question, in the outdoor Tatooine shots in IV, for some reason the lower right panel on R2’s back is painted uniformly grey. Any point? Production goof? It seems intentional and I don’t think that body was re-purposed at any time to be another droid so what gives? It goes away for pretty much every indoor shot and Mos Eisley, so maybe my sleep-deprived brain is going crazy…
It may be a production goof, since the Tatooine bits were shot before the rest of the film.
That’s nothing. The Blade Runner set has like 6 versions of the movie.
Five versions of Blade Runner have been publicly released on DVD, HD DVD and Blu-Ray
The US Theatrical Cut
The International Theatrical Cut
The Directors Cut
The Final Cut
The Work PrintPlus Version 6 - the deleted scenes that are so extensive they form an entire alternate cut of the film when put back-to-back.
THAT version hasn’t been officially released though. That’s the Comic-Con version, right?
Nah, it’s on the Blu-Ray. Just watch the entire set of deleted scenes via “Play All”. Voila, instant sixth cut of Blade Runner. 😃
Aside from the story-breaking (il)logic of Anakin’s saber being red, I prefer the color contrast of two blue lightsabers against a fiery red backdrop.
Besides which, having both sabers be the same color is an interesting metatextual comment on the duel between these former friends. Much more so than most of the dialogue, in fact.

No, you were right. Mark Hamill was the one who posted that pic on Twitter; he mentioned that Kershner et al. ultimately decided against the dummy head, and used Mark’s own head peeking up from below the floor level.
(One reason Jabba gives him more time to pay him back in a deleted scene from the original film.)

In fact ESB cost so much that Lucas had to go to 20th Century Fox mid-shoot and ask for more money to finish the film. It’s understandable he was unhappy with Kurtz’ lack of budget oversight.
Star Quest: A Steven Spielberg Film
EDIT: Also Lucas’ worst decision is burying the OOT. There’s nothing wrong with there being a SE, but it shouldn’t come at the cost of the originals.
You win the thread.
The Empire Strikes Front
am I doing it right?
Yes.
And there’s a reason I avoided doing the obvious ROTS joke.
Just for fun. Post your own contributions.
Examples:
Attack of a Clone
Return of the NOOOOOO
The Penultimate Jedi
etc.
Han Solo and the Movie About Han Solo
^ That would at least be one good use for exclusive store releases.
I suspect that Lucasfilm has been experimenting with different lightsaber effects for some time. Unstable blades were present in LucasArts’ 2008 game The Force Unleashed, along with lightsabers whose glow shimmers in waves from bottom to top like a refreshing TV screen.
Eh, Jesus did the whole “virgin birth” thing better anyway.
That’s the funniest part of the assertion that The Chosen One thing was somehow stolen from The Matrix.
Quite so, Mr. Olié.
Eh, Jesus did the whole “virgin birth” thing better anyway.
And courage.
It was mentioned over at blu-ray.com that Edwards actually confirmed that he recorded a commentary so I’m hoping there’ll be a deluxe version later this year.
Now that is interesting.
Sorry, did I say bad? I meant evil.
I’d be down for a bad fairytale Star Wars story.
