The Most Boring Commentator Ever
Time
Don't the SW commentaries just edit together snippets of interviews about certain key scenes when they're happening? i.e. Aren't they pseudo-commentaries, not taken from the participants as they watch the films? I could be wrong, but I always thought this was the case.

Kevin Smith ... now THAT is a guy who knows how to do a commentary track. He and his pals in a room talking frankly and cracking wise ... its almost like MST3K.

Nice. So does this mean it'll be a NTSC release and not a PAL release? Rik, is the PAL release from Australia time-compressed? And if so, does the KCOP have the correct running time?

Yes, it's sped up.

Looking forward to this.

Which is sped up? PAL? KCOP?

The "ADigitalMan Special Editions" DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released)

Any DVD-ROM folder has been added since I authored each disc, so I can't speak for those.

As for verifications that are failing, that has been noted by others from time to time. Not quite sure how to verify them against each other except ... perhaps if you rip to your drive and then torrent it against what's up at MySpleen, it'll compare your copy to the source and likely correct/add any packets that are needed.

Thank you for the links, but those threads still don't announce wether or not anyone will actually pursue making them anamorphic when they come out. Is anyone thinking of attempting to?
Yeah, I probably will, and I'm sure many others will convert their copies too.

But note: converting a retail DVD from letterboxed to anamorphic does not come under the umbrella of "preservation" or "fan editing". Although Jay, Zion and I are still discussing changes to the site rules, it is likely that discussions about how to customize your own DVDs will be allowed, but discussions about distribution (torrents, etc.) of such DVDs won't be.

I like this approach. I even support making the optional audio tracks available with instructions on how to mux them into your official DVD. It would be nice if the PCM audio, the mono mix, the music-only mix and any LD commentaries were preserved and made available, synched to the length of the official disc, and a thread with how to DIY could tell everybody what they can do if they are so inclined.

Power to the masses!

I still haven't landed a copy of FF, so I'm not 100% sure. He probably tightened his edit considerably more and did the FX fixes on the eyes and some custom audio work. I added in the deleted scenes that weren't even in the Extended Edition and, aside from removing wrong FX shots, left much more in. I'm unsure if he used Irulan's prologue/narration or the male version, but I went with Irulan, including the extended prologue.
