Does anybody know if there is a dialog-free version of "Can you read my mind?" The DVD's music-only track and, to my knowledge, the soundtrack had the voiceover present.

P.S. Greencapt, I'm far more partial to "Jimmy Olsen's Blues" by The Spin Doctors.

Isn't it an extra on the semi-rare two-disc Superman Soundtrack? I'll check and see if it has it when I get home.

You've got me salivating now, Sess. Lemme know what you find. I didn't even realize such a soundtrack existed. Is it more complete than the DVD? If so, I'll track it down, as it's gotta be better fidelity than the AC3 file from the DVD.

Peter Jackson the new Luca$???
Time
Not buying them, simply because I didn't care for the theatrical cuts of FOTR or TTT. I didn't start to really like the film franchise until the EE of FOTR was released. I remember walking out of FOTR in 2001 saying "It looked like it was edited with a meat cleaver."

So I've got my EE in higher resolution (because the feature itself is split onto two discs for each film) and way more bonus material than I can shake a stick at.

Until PJ re-edits the film into one 12-hour saga for Blu-Ray, or until he gets to make The Hobbit, Middle Earth has gotten all the cash it's gonna get out of me.

Yeah. And speaking of fading, when he went in the molecule chamber, his super self just sort of faded away, leaving him in street clothes. Yet Zod & company didn't also fade into street clothes when they got zapped. What's up with that?

And that guy kept talking on the phone even when Zod & company had blown him horizontal. What's up with that?

And in Superman IV his hair is strong enough to hold up a 1,000 pound weight, but Lex can cut it down with a pair of scissors? What's up with that?

And at the end of II he said he'd been away for a while, and then goes on a five year trek to Krypton? What's up with that?

And he's from some other planet in some other galaxy, yet they speak English. What's up with that?

We could nitpick all day, or we could just enjoy the films. Even Richard Pryor.

Watched ROTS on HBO, UGGGH!
Time
It really is a weak-ass movie in it's Lucas incarnation. I couldn't watch the whole thing on HBO. My wife and I kept talking about all the bad points ... especially the fall to the dark side. I really can only watch the version I've done and enjoy it. With most of the garbage out, it makes it a watchable film.

But it will never be The Empire Strikes Back no matter how you re-edit.

Interestingly, I've watched Batman Begins about 4 times now on HBO, and will stop surfing every time I hit it. And I still felt the need to bring my DVD of the film to see my parents recently, sitting them down to watch it. And they, too, were duly surprised by what an amazing film it is.

ROTS gets worse with each viewing, Batman Begins gets better with each viewing. Therein lies the difference between truly great filmmaking and shlock. What a mixed-up fixed-up topsy-turvy world we live in where Star Wars sucks and a Batman film is deep, moving cinema.

Read my last post again. He returned to rubble. The planet was gone, as we know it to be. I think the line he said was "That place is nothing but a graveyard." The shots in the trailer looked like he was navigating an asteroid field.

He didn't go home to sunny Krypton, don't worry. That crap was in J.J. Abrams script.

Flew there cramped up in his ship, which in many different parts of the Superman mythology survived the crash landing on Earth.

He probably survived in the same manner he survived in the 2.5 year journey when he was in his infant/toddler years. In a word: Inexplicably. We never saw food, water, toilet facilities ... nothing but Jor-El's voice to nurture him.

When he returned, the planet was wreckage. This was seen in the first teaser trailer.

My head is saying in typical South Park mockery "You think that's bad, remember the time Superman flew up to Wonder Woman on her Invisible Jet on Family Guy ... ?"

Anyway, I understand the entire opening with Kal-El's return to Krypton has been cut from the Theatrical Cut of the film, though Singer hopes it'll be on the DVD.

Addresses and contacts for various media outlets go in here

Jay, I just visited the home page for the first time in a couple weeks. Thanks for noting this thread front and center. I hope it is inspiring others to act. I find it interesting that EW has remained mum on the situation thus far. Totally mum, which is more curious than ass-kissing on the set. Aside from a ho-hum to the initial announcement, I've seen nada.

For newbies to this thread, be sure to read all the pages. Lots of good addresses have been provided in previous posts.
