They're just resized screen caps for the purpose of the slideshow. They are not anamorphic.

I sold my 2004 set to buy these. If the Saga Edition manages to have a better treatment of the O-OT than this (which I still doubt), I'll in-turn sell these for the saga set. Otherwise, I'll have my non-degradable O-OT, my license to actually have the X0 project, and all will be well with the world. Otherwise, I'll continue to hold out hope for a properly restored O-OT on Blu-Ray format in about five years. And then I'll sell the 2006 set for THAT.

Phillipe is in the running to play Harvey Dent. Big mistake if that happens. I'm still pulling for Liev Schrieber. Need somebody with age and gravitas to play a D.A. Phillipe is the right age for a fledgling Asst. D.A. like Katie Holmes was, but not the big kahuna.

Now that I've seen all the frames, it is interesting to see what changes were good and what changes were bad. And it is definitely obvious how screwed-up the color is on the 2004 set. There are a few shots where you can't see the characters in the 2004 screenshots, yet they're clear as day on the 1977 shots.

I guarantee it's because Lucas is too cheap to come up with both a HD and a Blu-Ray master. He probably is smarting over making all those Betamax tapes in the early 80s. He's probably waiting to see who the winner is in the format war.

Which is doubly annoying because it's probably not that much more than a "Save As" option with today's technology to create the master format.

Anybody able to answer the interlaced vs progressive question yet? What about telecining? It will affect the ease of an anamorphic blow-up of the film in AVISynth.

My understanding only goes so far, so I'm hoping you die-hards would know by now.
