ADigitalMan's Guide to MPEG2/AC3 Editing

SoundForge won't do that to my knowledge. I recommend extracting the audio by dragging the first VOB in the series into DVD Lab Pro. It'll demux all the streams, and you can delete the ones you don't need when you're done.

OR you can just demux it straight from disc using DVD Decrypter in IFO mode (as opposed to File mode, which rips the VOBs straight to disc).

A Date Which Will Live...in Infamy
Time
Let us not forget that the UN was created by FDR and Churchill during WWII. There is a reason why the five permanent members of the Security Council are who they are: Those who stood in opposition to the Axis powers.

The stated aims of the United Nations are to prevent war, to safeguard human rights, to provide a mechanism for international law, and to promote social and economic progress, improve living standards and fight diseases. It gives the opportunity for countries to balance global interdependence and national interests when addressing international problems. Toward these ends it ratified a Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948.

The personal hygiene thread

Waterpik resulted in immediate regrowth within two days. Gargle antibiotics were worthless. Internal antibiotics were effective for about three months before another regimen became necessary (and that's not good for MANY reasons, the least of which is the problem at hand). With the constant food trappings, colonies, and frequent sore throats, it became a chronic condition that went beyond mere halitosis. Thus insurance was willing to pick up 80% of it.

Plus, now maybe my wife will stop bitching about the stank.

Where does the PC madness end?

I have to say I was VERY pleased with NBC last night. They had a CHRISTMAS special dedicated to the lighting of the CHRISTMAS tree at Rockerfeller center, and they played a lot of sacred CHRISTMAS songs (i.e. not just the secular musings of Santa and sleigh bells, but the good stuff like O Holy Night).

If anybody got offended by that, I hope they realized that they could change the channel.

Info & Idea: Superman Original 1978 Soundtrack Preservation?

I'm excited that WB did this. See my post in General Discussion for more.

Meanwhile, I still see a LOT of value in preserving a PCM capture of the Japanese LD. Having uncompressed PCM would be great for the purpose of synching to the official DVD. I might even revisit the notion of the Feed the Babies edit using the Theatrical Mix everywhere possible.
