He was the only President ever to sit in the Oval Office having not been elected to either the Presidency OR the Vice Presidency. He replaced VP Spiro Agnew, who resigned in the midst of Watergate, and then of course Nixon. I remember an old joke that Nixon physically bumped into Ford as they were moving in/out of the White House. Nixon said "Pardon me" to which Ford replied "OK" and thus, Nixon never had to stand trial.

I love the score. Remember, it's not a Zimmer score, but a collaboration between Zimmer and James Newton Howard. The two together undoubtedly made this soundtrack soar. Haters should listen to it again, straight from CD. It's as good as Gladiator IMHO.
