Recreational drug use
Time
The problem is, using illicit substances means funding into a system that is far more corrupt than politicians or oil barons. Unless you're living on a commune growing your own stuff for your own personal use, then you've likely gotten it from somebody whose business involves theft, extortion, murder, and terror. Forgetting the whole "body is a temple" mindset (which is noble, but unlegislatable), this is the strongest case for not doing them AND for working to have the laws changed.

I'm in that freaky minority who doesn't do drugs and has no desire to start, but nonetheless wants them legalized. Remove the criminal element from it and half of our society's problems would go away. Sure there would still be addicts, but I hypothesize they'd be fewer, because there would be less of a desire for anti-social types to engage in the "bad" behavior to begin with. If an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, dump more resources into education. If the common person had the level of education about some of these substances that I have, more people would eschew them as I do.

Then maybe if we didn't have our law enforcement, coast guard and troops fighting a war on drugs, we might actually be able to focus more of their energy on the assholes who actually want to kill us for existing.

Using Boba Feta's ADM SW covers as a guide, and a bunch of Jim Bower's excellent artwork from CapedWonder.com, here's what I've come up with.

Hi-res download is here.

Report any typos and I'll fix as quickly as I can.

I'm also working with DAYV to fix a small typo on one of the menus. If my trick doesn't work, it's not a big enough deal for me to lose sleep over. Stay tuned.

PETA Kills Website
Time
Not that we know of ... not yet. That's my point. Remember, it wasn't that long ago that we believed humans thought with their heart, that bloodletting was the healthy way to exorcise demons from the body, and many still refuse to believe we descended from the same evolutionary branch as apes. As we learn more about life as a whole, we might be surprised at how it works in all living things. After all, SOMETHING is driving plants to reproduce.

My comment wasn't at all meant to offend. Vegetarianism is a choice, and I'm all about choice. I certainly respect vegetarians for their choices, but only ask the same respect for evolution and the food chain in return. Since most vegetarians are also liberals, this shouldn't be a stretch.

PETA Kills Website
Time
I thought the only Website PETA killed was the one for People Eating Tasty Animals. Screw PETA ... while I don't mind boycotting veal because it is grossly inhumane and while I don't wear mink or sable because, frankly, I don't live in Siberia, I find PETA grossly disrespectful to all my ancestors who helped me climb my way to the top of the food chain. Let this unabashed liberal put on his leather jacket and eat a steak in peace.

I find it amusing that PETA wishes all humans to stop the inhumane eating of other animals, yet they aren't saying anything bad about how dogs, or hawks, or sharks, or other ANIMALS (which, face it, humans are) all eat other animals to survive.

I can't wait for the day when mankind learns that vegetation also has consciousness. Then the real freaks can rally to the rights of vegetables, so they may grow in unhindered, uncultivated peace, away from the herbivorous herbality of humans. Let them unite under the slogan: "Every Salad Has A Soul."

ADigitalMan's Guide to MPEG2/AC3 Editing
Time
I'm not sure how or why, but it does. I think it has to do with how Womble sometimes thinks extra frames are supposed to go in due to the 24->30 fps conversion. It's why I always demux, note problems like that, and create a separate audio mix that accounts for such glitches when they appear.

I also do not use Womble to author DVDs. Only to splice video and a corresponding audio reference file. Womble for video, Vegas for Audio, DVDLab Pro for authoring. It's been near-perfect for me every time.

Superman 2 The Donner Cut
Time
The only thing that doesn't really work in S1 is the dam rebuilding itself. Take that out and replace with more Lois images, and he simply turned the world back a few minutes. Turning time back would have slipped the car into the chasm before it comes back out. I've considered this, and may do it in a 2.0 update.

Superman turning time back several days, zipping Kryptonians off earth and back into the Phantom Zone that's somewhere near Saturn, giving Lois her cherry back, and then beating up a bully who has no memory of him is just stupid editing though. Thau, Donner, and Mank, bless 'em all, should be flogged for that one.

Jokes thread : Reloaded
Time
Apparently a true story from a friend of mine ...
I was in Wal-Mart buying a large bag of Purina for our dog, and was in line to check out. A woman behind me asked if I had a dog........Duh!

I was feeling a bit crabby so on impulse, I told her no, I was starting The Purina Diet again, although I probably shouldn't because I'd ended up in the hospital last time, but that I'd lost 50 pounds before I awakened in an intensive care unit with tubes coming out of most of my orifices and IV's in both arms. Her eyes about bugged out of her head.

I went on and on with the bogus diet story and she was totally buying it. I told her that it was an easy, inexpensive diet and that the way it works is to load your pockets or purse with Purina nuggets and simply eat one or two every time you feel hungry. The package said the food is nutritionally complete so I was going to try it again.

I have to mention here that practically everyone in the line was by now enthralled with my story, particularly a tall guy behind her.

Horrified, she asked if something in the dog food had poisoned me and was that why I ended up in the hospital.

I said no.....I'd been sitting in the street licking my butt when a car hit me.

I thought the tall guy was going to have to be carried out the door.
