George's latest Car Wreck (Speed Channel)
Time
George Lucas: Hey, you know a gal around here with a piss yellow deuce coupe, supposed to be hot stuff?
Eddie Griffin: You mean Emily Procter? Hey, nobody can beat her, man. She's got the fastest...
George Lucas: I ain't nobody, dork. Right?
Eddie Griffin: Right.
George Lucas: Hey, you see this Procter, tell her I'm lookin' for her, huh? Tell her I aim to blow her ass right off the road.
-----
George Lucas: Hey, I'm sorry if I scared ya!
Emily Procter: You're gonna hafta do one hell of a lot more than that to scare me!
George Lucas: Hey I've been lookin' all over for ya. Didn't nobody tell ya I was lookin' for ya?
Emily Procter: Man, I can't keep track of all you punks runnin' 'round here backwards.
George Lucas: Hey you're s'posed to be the fastest thing in the Valley, but that can't be your car. It must be your mama's car! I'm sorta' embarrassed to be this close to ya!
Emily Procter: Yeah, well I'm not surprised, drivin' a field car!
George Lucas: Field car? What's a field car?
Emily Procter: A field car runs through the fields, droppin' cow shit all over the place to make the lettuce grow.
George Lucas: Ha ha! That's pretty good! Say, I like the color of your car there. What's that s'posed to be? Sort of a cross between piss yella' and puke green ain't it?
Emily Procter: Well, you call that a paint job, but it's pretty ugly. I bet you got to sneak up on the pumps just to get a little air in your tires!
George Lucas: Well at least I don't have to pull over to the side just to let a funeral go by man.
Emily Procter: Oh ho, funny!
George Lucas: Hey, hey, hey, baby. What do you say?
Natalie Portman: Don't say anything and we'll get along just fine.

<yoda>I agree.</yoda>

I think the selectable crawl is the way to go. It'll be a great touch, and using the GOUT original crawl will even be an improvement over the Edit Droid version. I really hope you'll do this. Why the GOUT didn't do it is just one more thing that escapes me.

Just cracked open the Storybook and there are two shots from that scene. One of the two jawas with one firing (at R2) and the other with several Jawas carrying R2 overhead. They're definitely daytime shots.

Never let it be said that this community's anal-retentive attention to detail doesn't find new stuff regularly. I'm impressed.

if t'were done, t'were well t'were done quickly-so here's goes nothing- I CLAUDIUS thread!
Time
I Claudius is indeed the greatest drama the BBC ever produced. The abhorrent production values are completely mitigated by some of the finest acting ever captured for the small screen. For those of you who are upset at the cancellation of "Rome" look no further ... the escapades of the Julii continue from Agustus' through Nero in astounding manner.

Highly recommended.

Grindhouse
Time
The movie looked like schlock to me, so it doesn't surprise me that most of the world wasn't inspired to go see it. The Weinsteins, as well as Tarantino and Rodriguez have been taken down a notch or two, and that is not a bad thing. They've been trading on their names and not their skills for too long.

Splitting the movies up is a last-ditch effort to salvage what they can, but it likely will fail. The whole point was to make an exploitational double-feature, so the in-joke that drove the entire project will be lost.

I'll wait for it to be on HBO.

should I get the GOUT?
Time
Yes, but you own the Laserdisc version. It makes sense for any laserdisc owner not to buy them because the transfer is exactly the same. I understand and agree with all LD owners boycotting the GOUT DVD. But for those who haven't purchased it in any format (and IMO who purchased it on VHS) you should ante up for the official set.
