Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)
Time

Harmy said:

Maclunky šŸ˜•

Hey there, everyone, I donā€™t believe this has been discussed, I see Harmy only quoted it. If it has, just ignore me.

Apparently in the Disney+ release of Star Wars, which I hear looks excellent because of a new 4K scan or something, they once again altered the scene with Han and Greedo. Greedo still shoots first but now they added the line ā€œMaclunkyā€ that Greedo shouts right before he dies.

I canā€™t confirm this, though, since Iā€™m not from the US and Disney + isnā€™t available over here, I thought it was a joke at first. This is why I thought I would discuss it here.

Why, in the name of the force, would they do that? Unbelievable.

On a lighter note, Iā€™d like to thank you, Harmy, for all the hard work. Iā€™ve had the privilege to watch the Despecialized Editions once again this year in preparation for The Rise of Skywalker. I will watch it tomorrow at midnight, Iā€™m quite excited. Hope you and everyone have a great time when you see it. MTFBWY.

STAR WARS: EP VI -RETURN OF THE JEDI &quot;REVISITED EDITION&quot;<strong>ADYWAN</strong> - ** PRODUCTION HAS NOW RESTARTED **

All of this ā€œcrawlā€ talk today is ironic because Iā€™ve been drafting a post on it for a few days now. Iā€™ve cut out some of the lead in that talked about ROTJā€™s weak points and focus on the bit about improving the crawl to make what follows make more sense.

I too was hoping that restructuring the scenes might improve things but after watching the ROTJ Spence Final Cut Iā€™m not so sure that it can be done and still feel ā€œnaturalā€. Smoothing out these types of changes are what pickup shots are for, and thatā€™s not really feasible for anything involving the principal actors.

Instead of bending over backwards to put Luke on Dagobah first, what if it was done through a revised crawl?

Proposed Revisited ROTJ Opening Crawl (85 words, 7 more than original):

While his friends have scoured the galaxy for Han Solo, Luke Skywalker has evaded Darth Vaderā€™s relentless pursuit by continuing his Jedi training on the secret planet of Dagobah.

With Han finally discovered in the lair of the vile gangster Jabba the Hutt, Luke has left his training once again to join his friends in a daring rescue attempt.

Little do they know that the GALACTIC EMPIRE has secretly been constructing a new armored space station even more powerful than the first dreaded Death Starā€¦

Which leads into the opening of the movie as we know it. Itā€™s not perfect but it does address a few issues:

  1. Lukeā€™s training DID continue after ESB and his powers have justifiably improved
  2. It better explains why the rescue team didnā€™t go in as a single team
  3. It ties in nicely with ESB and ROTJ dialogue of Vaderā€™s search for Luke
  4. Replacing the word ā€œbegunā€ with ā€œbeenā€ suggests that DS2 construction has been going on for longer, better justifying itā€™s advanced progress.
  5. It allows for Luke to separate and rejoin the fleet as depicted in the original cut

Granted it begs a few questions. Why did Luke wait to ask ā€œthe big questionā€. Still I think it would work, as Mark Hamillā€™s delivery of ā€œIS Darth Vader my father?ā€ sounds like a question that has been asked many times before. Some of Yodaā€™s response may have to be trimmed to make it work, but I really think that itā€™s worth considering.

I think this would be the smoothest way of fixing the problem with the only question left being. Why didnā€™t he ask him sooner? But if you analyze the scene Luke said ā€œIS Darth Vader my father?ā€ Maybe implying he did ask him before and Yoda just refused to answer maybe so heā€™d focus on his training. It is also backed by Yodaā€™s kinda tired of the question-answer.

EDIT: Sorry, that discussion ended ages ago. My bad.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 <strong>REVISITED</strong> ADYWAN *<em>1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION</em>

I think people are forgetting that while the whole movie and the publicity for it was about the ā€œDeath Star Plansā€, what they really end up stealing is the -star dust file- Galen left on scarif. My theory is he purposely misplaced the dish so emperials would think it was an outdated version and donā€™t look too much into it, and the weakness he placed is accurate. Thatā€™s what I think.

Dealing with People Selling Fan Projects
Time

Thank you, I see your points. My idea is of the program practically impossible but maybe the store could work.

Yes, Iā€™m pretty new, Iā€™ve been a user for only about a couple of months. I love all the things Iā€™ve been able to get thanks to me finding this site and it was all free and not that difficult. I mean I only asked for a MySpleen invite and got it, I guess One has to be lucky.

There are many tutorials in YouTube of how to get fan edits, but I couldnā€™t find one that mentioned asking for a MySpleen invite. I think itā€™s the easiest way and normal people should know how it works.

Iā€™m really young so this is probably stupid but I came up with this ā€œpossibleā€ idea for solving this.

Ahh, ā€¦Iā€™m gonna get so roasted, well, here it goesā€¦

First, what we want to achieve:

-Easy access to Fan Edits, so non good computer users can watch them.
-Make custom sets easily acquirable without selling the fan Edits themselves.

What we need:

A (maybe several) great, honest and committed programmer.

What it would be:

-Program
-Online Store

An easy to download free program like popcorn time to watch and download Fan Edits of movies, at this point itā€™s the same as popcorn time but with fan edits instead of movies and the ability to download. This is where it gets good, I thinkā€¦

It would also have a link to a page (that would also need to be created) in which ā€œcustom box-set kitsā€ are sold. This would include Blu Ray boxes, art, custom crafts,BLANK discs, etc. BUT NOT THE FAN EDITS.

This page could be like a marketplace in which artists could create an account on the store and sell their box sets, making it more vast and independent. NOTE it should be well moderated and managed to make sure they are only selling ā€œCustom Box set kitsā€ and not the edits.

Back to the program, it would also have an easy to use disc-burning feature that, with their ā€œBox Set Kitā€ people could get the Edits on custom box sets ONLY paying for for physical stuff and not the film.

People would still need a disc burner, though.

Problems:
I guess it could get shut down but somehow popcorn time is still active.

A lot of work, if done, itā€™s a long term solution.

Could be abused. Especially the store if not managed correctly.

Any other technical problems I canā€™t think of.

Maybe Iā€™m crazy and this is imposible, I know nothing about programming , as I said, Itā€™s just an idea I thought would be cool.

Let me know if Iā€™m crazy or if my idea has at least a drop of possibly. Please donā€™t be too harsh.

While we need to do a better job at directing new members towards important information (see here for my suggestion), there will still be the problem of people unwilling/unable to burn the blu-rays and create custom sets. For those people, buying these things may be the only way they get their hands on them. And thatā€™s a big problem.

Any solution not involving money would be quite a hassle, and the best thing I can think of is a system wherein the party requesting the blu-ray would be required to purchase their own blank blu-ray discs and send them in a package containing their copy of the relevant 2011 Blu-ray discs (as proof of purchase) and enough postage for sending it all back.

This a great idea, or at least the star of one. You have given us a starting place, we have to brainstorm a system that makes fan edits easy to access and custom sets are easy to acquire without abuse of control and money gain out of them.

STAR WARS: EP V &quot;REVISITED EDITION&quot;<strong>ADYWAN</strong> - <strong>12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW</strong>
Time

Not sure if this was serious, but as someone checking the forum while still downloading the edit, this was unexpected and a little dismaying (not the fact that Adywan might have made the change you mentioned, but that you mentioned it like this without even 12 hours passing for people to watch the movie for themselves). Hoping it was a joke, and that something major was not ruined before my first viewing.

Thanks to everyone else who has posted their responses in a more community-friendly way ā€“ this day has been a long time coming for many of us, and itā€™s so much fun to see the enthusiasm and congratulations pouring in. Iā€™m realizing I may need to stay away from the thread until I finish downloading and watching the movie, so that I can avoid being spoiled and people can discuss in as much detail as they want.

In the meantime, thank you again Adywan for all your hard work over the years!

Really sorry bro, It wasnā€™t a joke but it isnā€™t true either. As I said in another post I got really confused and for some reason I forgot Empire ended that way. I remembered the last shot being Luke and LeĆa looking at space.

Having said that I now realized it would have been highly disrespectful to spoil it if it had been true. I will edit my post.

Again, really sorry šŸ˜ hope you enjoyed ESB:R and my stupid comment didnā€™t ruin it for you in any way.

&quot;Duel of the Fates&quot;- The Prequel Trilogy Recut into a single 2h33m film - Released

This looks really interesting, never liked the whole ā€œ3 in 1ā€ edit idea, mainly because of The Clone Wars not having space in the whole experience; But I gotta say, this looks really interesting.

The chapter thing reminds me of when I thought if it would have worked better for the prequels to have been a TV series.

Iā€™d love to see somebody attempt a newly choreographed duel scene, should somebody have access to an ANH Vader costume and Obi-Wanā€™s Jedi robes. Just a couple shots to touch up little flaws and all, if also to make Obi-Wan look more formidable like how he managed to defeat Maul on Rebels.

And even after seeing how Vader took apart all those Rebels on Rogue One, maybe we could have a better duel after all. Dreams are for free I do digressā€¦

I do believe it could work, if done well. But it would have to be done perfectly well, or it would look weird, odd and out of place. I donā€™t think the costumes are the problem, it is replicating the setting, with propper lights and camera work.

It should fit, but if itĀ“s not 100% right. I would preffer to just leave the scene as it is or improve it some way else.

Big lol at finding exactly the same posts in this thread as there were when I left a year ago!

On the subject of the Wampa - heā€™s a fine looking specimen. The skill it mustā€™ve taken to create himā€¦ I hope the making of Revisited has been thoroughly documented because the world needs to see!

Yes, I hadnĀ“t thought about it but I certainly hope for ESB:R to come with a documentary on the process of its creation. It could also be a seperate file. Regarthless, I want it!

Here are some covers to smooth things over

Iā€™ve been holding on to these covers for quite some time now (about 8 months) and Iā€™ve decided itā€™s time to let them go.

Based on the Criterion layout, these covers present the Despecialized project without cluttering the front artwork. I went with striking images and embellished them for a unique look. These are inspired by JMoomerā€™s previous designs, which I became obsessed with and decided to work on some originals. This is a set with a theme, and I have more sets designed with the same layout that have different themes (those will be posted at a later date so look out for further posts)

The covers are made for Criterion Single Disc Cases and are FREE TO DOWNLOAD AND PRINT FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY, which I would greatly enjoy seeing photos of.

! PLEASE KEEP THESE IMAGES OFF OTHER SITES !

I made these for the forum members here and I donā€™t want to find them anywhere else. If I see them pop up on eBay or other forums, the designs will be pulled and I wonā€™t post any more of the many Iā€™ve made.

However, if you would like a set made for you, I am offering to do so.

** IF YOUā€™RE READING THIS PASSED JULY 4TH ITā€™S ENDED

The trilogy set will be 40$, 15$ each individually, all in Criterion cases and with an inside print unique to each film as well.

NO DISCS INCLUDED!

those you will have to handle yourself. Shipping only to United States for now. This is a timed production. From now until the 4th of July, you can PM me if interested. Expected delivery by August 1st.

Hope you enjoy the designs and the coming covers.

really nice choice of abstract artwork for your Criterion OT Covers there - some top work and thanks for sharing.

Iā€™ve add them to a list of single case sets, Box Sets, 3-in-1 / Trilogy covers etc by users on the ot.com, here:-

ItĀ“s not okay to be rude, many people just donĀ“t have any idea how to get them, they donĀ“t know what a freaking Torrent is and just want the project. Yes, they should probably read a few forums, donĀ“t be lazy and search, but just point them in the right direction and tell them this isnĀ“t the place to ask that.

If people are rude to him/her all the time, how is he/she going to want to contribute and be part of the community?
