I just tried sendspace while it is in the same time uploading on MU... After one minute it announces 45 min for the upload. Mu makes it in 14 min ! I'll try again next time, but perhaps it depends on your location. ... And remember, I already tried some time ago after you asked me the same.

Also, I encoded with Audacity and plays fine on Foobar 2000... I will encode the next one with Foobar, let's see if you can manage it. ;) You've got it in a couple of minutes.

Oh, and don't worry if you notice the little editing at the beginning of the 2nd half of "Ice PLanet". It 's already corrected.

I'm PMing you a Flac sample of the begining until the snowspeeders cue synchronized to your PCM track. If you have time to check against the picture what it gives that would be great. I'm in PAL region, so I can't it check over my GOUT version - that I finally found btw.

D. Malwalker, thanks for the link. Very nteresting thread. ANH has only 90 min of score, against 117 min for Empire. There will be very few silent passages in the end, and as I mentionned before the photography for this film is exceptionnal, so just we would have to open our eyes when the ears will be at rest. ;)

Thanks for the infos Hairy_Hen, so the SE doesn't suck on every point...! I enjoyed very much the restored bits of music in Ady's version. I have the SE but I'm not mad enough to watch or study it. Funny then, cause my previous film cut edit of the score was all made after the GOUT, and I now think such editing is pointless as a soundtrack or an isolated score.

In the other hand, I tested "Departure Of Boba Fett" on the film mix and that was incredible and funny in the same time: as the duel in the Carbon Freeze chamber is - unscored - in the film with the dialogues, it is perfect. As it is with the music and the sfx's clashing it is awesome and there's a big tension underneath... But as I listened with the dialogues + the music, it had something "too much": too heroic, what really gave me a feeling of "commercial" stuff or something for children.

PS: so I retrieved my 2004 DVD and the alt mix I was searching for the March, if it's this one, is too short for the edit I thought (not for the DVD). And anyway, everybody talks about this alt mix, when all the film mix unique, as is the Anthology, or the album, or the... No, forget that one...

I'm amazed... Most of the cuts they did for the music are so tiny bits repeted or deleted that it looks these are due to imprecisions in the editing, more than last minutes changes that may have occured in the cut. The difference I've observed in the GOUT when we see Luke the first time from the air, next to Ady's reconstruction version of the same passage remains a mystery for me. The editing of the music here really looks like it has been done roughly in this '80 mix.

Having English subtitles (as an option?) wouldn't be a bad idea - I usually turn them on when I listen to isolated scores anyway.

I'm beginning to feel this edit will be interesting enough to forget those details.

On the contrary: you can change everything !... But please, if you could begin by removing the ugly make-up from Mr Hammil's face throughout the whole movie. Only this would be a huge improvement !

I'm only afraid the silent parts will be kind of annoying...

Perhaps we'd get a revealing vision if we removed all the unscored parts, like clips fading to black between each others. I don't know. I'm just proposing, it's your choice anyway. ;)

another thing I just observed on Audacity, is that some processes like the equalizer (wich one I only use occasionnaly) used on a whole track may shift your track... Very annoying when you have precise edited parts. Best way, if you tracks allows it - mines being surrounded with silence, so it's ok - is to select the part you have to process... Then I'd go for: Audacity sucks if you don't pay attention. ;)

Well, the only thing I noticed that sucked is when you erase a bit of a track directly with the "delete" button on the keyboard, what provocates a "micro-nudge"... But once you know it it's easy to manage by choosing the "silence" or choose another "delete" option (sorry my version is French so I may lack of precision here).

For other kinds of change I haven't witnessed nothing, and tried to find about that on the net with no result. So that should be fine.

By the way, I use the last 1.3 Beta version, and it's far better than the previous one.

Reading you both C3PX and Warbler, I think you'll never meet. If C3PX looks like taking the chance to learn any thing he can through discussion (and I'm sure he does), I feel Warb is on the opposite side: the words may sound positive, but inertia prevails and he closes the doors again and again. Kind of love & hate ping pong party with himself and his feelings.
